MedEquip4Kids is a Manchester based national charity that improves the health of babies and children across the UK by providing hospitals with equipment not available from limited NHS resources. We are looking for a Fundraising Partnerships Officer to join this small but mighty fundraising team and grow the vital income for this incredible charity!

The Role

By joining MedEquip4Kids in this capacity you will play an important role within the charity and duties will include:

• Maximising the charity’s income through the development of the corporate, trust and community fundraising portfolio.
• Developing a pipeline of new prospects and relationships (including one off donations, corporate partnerships and event participation).
• Researching, completing and submitting corporate trust applications.
• Providing positive leadership to volunteers and corporate donors ensuring effective stewardship and stakeholder engagement.

The role is varied and interesting and provides an opportunity for you enlist support to raise funds that will have a real impact on the lives of babies and children across the UK.

The Person

To be considered for this role you should come to us with experience of managing relationships and of working towards income targets. You should be a strong and confident communicator with the ability to build relationships with new contacts and develop existing relationships to maximise engagement. You should also have good written communication skills and the knowledge and ability to write compelling cases for support to obtain funds for the charity. We would welcome someone who has significant fundraising experience, but also those with awareness and interest in this area with the transferable skills to make a success of this rewarding career! About the role 

You’ll support our national and local campaigning work across Scotland to improve the lives of people with Parkinson’s and those closest to them. As part of our dynamic and committed Scotland team, you’ll listen to the needs of our local communities and work with colleagues across the charity to deliver focussed political campaigning work. 

You’ll work with  our community to raise awareness and increase knowledge about Parkinson’s with decision makers at a local and national level. You’ll use your knowledge of public policy in Scotland and the UK to make sure that the voices of people with Parkinson’s, their partners, family members and friends are heard, and help to drive changes that improve their lives. 

What you’ll do:

• Be a first point of contact for campaigners in Scotland, who want to improve services in their local area, and recruit and manage a sustainable network of local campaign volunteers specific to Scotland.

• Support the work of the Policy and Campaigns Manager to understand and influence UK wide and Scottish specific legislation, policy and practice relating to our communities and their needs

• Provide expert advice and support to colleagues and campaigners on how best to influence decision makers in Scotland.

• Use our UK-wide campaign priorities to deliver national and local campaign activity, and coordinate campaigns with other charities and organisations, where appropriate to further our goals.

What you’ll bring:

• Strong people skills, and a commitment to putting the experiences and needs of people affected by Parkinson’s at the centre of your work 

• Excellent written and oral communication and an ability to produce inspiring content to motivate others, and the ability to network and manage supportive relationships with volunteers, MSPs and a range of external organisations

Job Description

Communication, Outreach, and Advocacy

• Streamline internal project communications with the partner cohort and other key stakeholders to enhance efficiency and clarity of messaging. 
• Support the design and implementation of communication strategies and advocacy tools, including developing advocacy campaigns and communication materials.
• Work with the partner cohort to identify key advocacy opportunities and relevant forums through which to promote the rights and needs of marginalised communities in Afghanistan.
• Work with partners to engage with policymakers, influencers, and advocacy networks to raise awareness of the project’s advocacy agenda and influence policy direction. 
• Create engaging and informative content for various communication channels, such as newsletters and blogs, highlighting the project’s impact and success stories. If needed, manage the project’s social media accounts, including maintaining an up-to-date project website, regularly posting updates, and engaging with the online community. 

Information Exchange and Knowledge Sharing

• Take an active part in coordination meetings to foster internal cohesion and build strong relationships with the partner cohort and other external stakeholders.
• Help to facilitate discussions, meetings, and conferences to support knowledge exchange and strategic planning with the partner cohort and other stakeholders.

Person specification

Hamrah comprises a small and dedicated remote team. The person who fills this post should feel comfortable working independently in a remote setting and accepting a high level of responsibility for the project’s success. Required

• Experience working with Afghan CSOs and a good understanding of their dynamics is highly desirable.

Bowel Cancer UK is the UK's leading bowel cancer charity. We're determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. We support and fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive online community professional to join our friendly and supportive Peer Support team. This role is part of our peer support services team and will be responsible for supporting our online peer support communities, including our forum and Facebook groups.

The post holder will work directly with the Peer Support Manager and the Senior Online Communities Officer, as well as with colleagues from across the charity to develop our online communities, helping us to reach and support more people affected by bowel cancer and those concerned about symptoms, risk and pre-diagnosis.

Due to the rapid expansion of Day One Trauma Support over the last three years, the charity’s infrastructure has needed to respond quickly to meet its changing demands. There is now a requirement to ensure that the Finance and Resources team has the right skill set and capacity to provide the support needed by the charity in an efficient and proactive way.

The HR Officer and Executive Assistant role is a newly created position to reflect both the growing HR needs of the charity as the workforce expands, and the executive support required by the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure the efficient and effective running of the charity. This is a key role which is instrumental in bringing the HR and organisational administration functions together at an operational level.

Reporting primarily to the Director of Finance and Resources and assisted by an external HR and Employment Law support service, this role will provide advice, guidance and support to all line managers in HR related matters whilst building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders throughout all levels of the organisation.  This will include support to ensure the efficient and effective management, monitoring and reporting of people metrics, from recruitment, development, retention through to attrition and at all stages of the employee life cycle.

About you:

You will have at least 3 years’ experience of delivering HR support directly and facilitating line managers to deliver HR support.  You will have a demonstrable understanding of employment law and the practical application of this, with experience of implementing HR administration and operational best practice for example, in the areas of recruitment, capability and performance management. You will help lead in creating an atmosphere of trust and an enabling environment where staff can contribute their best and develop their potential, which is critical for Day One as a young organisation.

About the role

Community Fundraising Officer – Temporary Position from May 24 for 6 months (£24-25k)

We’re building our new fundraising team and this temporary role will play an important part in accelerating our ambitious plans to increase annual income during 2024/25.

You will become the fourth member of the Fundraising Team (there are 3 full time staff) and will help to support the fundraising team.

Sepsis is the immune system’s overreaction to an infection or injury. There are over 245,000 cases each year in the UK with approximately 48,000 deaths. UKST aims to reduce preventable deaths from this ‘killer’ condition. We achieve this by:

· Raising awareness

· Supporting those affected by sepsis

· Educating health professionals

· Lobbying political organisations for better sepsis and severe infection care

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver supporter journeys i.e. fundraising resources and stewardship communications to maximise supporter numbers, retention and engagement.

2. Use UKST’s CRM system (Raiser’s Edge) to accurately capture fundraiser information and key data contributing to the improved development and implementation of fundraising processes.

3. Communicate proactively and effectively with team members to pass on all relevant information, deliver excellent supporter care and to maximise fundraising opportunities. 

4. Provide excellent customer service members of the public, either via phone, mail and in person, help to develop Fundraising activity whilst also offering our Support Services where necessary.

5. Represent the charity as and when required in schools, local businesses, and community groups, including speaking at events if – not essential

6. Keep up to date with best practice in fundraising and ensure compliance with the latest legislation and guidelines.

7. Assist in prioritising & managing enquiries about our Community Fundraising Programme via our dedicated inboxes.

8. Work collaboratively with the fundraising team and our Communications and Marketing Team to ensure maximum press and social media coverage is obtained for UKST’s community fundraising activities.

We’re looking for an experienced project officer with a passion for working with communities, to inspire and support people to discover, explore and take community-led action for nature in Greater Manchester. This role will work closely with established partners and existing RSPB local groups and volunteers, including the Greater Manchester Swift Champions, to develop new opportunities to work with community groups, focusing on supporting creating new habitats for swifts, one of the UK’s most threatened species. You will explore opportunities for working more closely with young people, with the aspiration to establish two RSPB youth groups in Greater Manchester and a Swift Youth Action Group focused on 16 – 24-year-olds. You will identify where the RSPB can best support and enhance nature, with guidance from local conservation staff.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead front-line delivery of RSPB’s community engagement work at a local level, inspiring people to connect with nature through an 18-month programme of events and activities. Central to this will be recruitment and management of a network of volunteers. The Project Officer will be responsible for developing and running a rolling programme of training to enable volunteers to develop skills to allow them to continue to support nature-based initiatives. 

You will have experience of delivering community projects, events and experience of volunteer recruitment, induction and management, and the ability to motivate volunteers to independently deliver organisational objectives. The confidence to make decisions that enable the continued delivery of key objectives and to keep the project on track is crucial, as is the ability to communicate these decisions, where applicable, with stakeholders and partners.

Specific tasks:

• To lead our community engagement work in Greater Manchester, inspiring local communities to take action for nature, ensuring work is resilient and sustainable beyond the life of the project.
• To build a full picture of local environmental networks and the range of nature recovery and environmental work taking place locally, identifying opportunities to develop new partnerships.
• Act as an advocate for nature recovery within a diverse range of sectors including local government and private businesses to further our support for nature.
• Build links and strengthen existing relationships with RSPB Local Groups and other volunteer-led work taking place in urban green spaces, liaising closely with partners.
• To lead and continue to grow the Greater Manchester Swift Champion network of volunteers with the support of the Species Volunteer Network (SVN), which will allow us to do more for Swifts within local communities.
• Identify opportunities for youth involvement in establishing a Swift Champions Youth Action Group and two new RSPB Youth Groups, working closely with relevant stakeholders.
• Develop and deliver a series of volunteer recruitment, induction, and training days to increase numbers of new active volunteers within Manchester as well as building resilience and upskilling existing volunteers.
• Develop and deliver an 18-month programme of diverse nature-based events and activities (with a focus on Swifts including the installation of Swift boxes and/or bricks).
• To embed evaluation measures and provide regular reports to show impact across Greater Manchester.

As the Training Programmes Manager you will have oversight and responsibility for the healthcare professional training projects and activities, as well as growing the M4RD network within HCP groups and training institutions.

You will be key to rolling out Rare Disease 101 training for healthcare professionals all over the UK and potentially abroad. While you are not expected to deliver training yourself you will be pivotal to creating opportunities and facilitating all aspects of the programme.

Victim Support is looking to recruit a Research & Lived Experience Officer (RLEO), with a background in research and/or in coordinating a lived-experience forum, to lead on a project to provide feedback and insight on products related to victims. About the Role:

Victim Support (VS) is the leading independent charity in England and Wales for people who have been affected by crime and traumatic incidents. Understanding the experience and needs of victims and witnesses of crime is central to the charities' aims and vision.

As a Research & Lived Experience Officer you will have the opportunity to capture the voice of victims and promote evidence based recommendations to improve the experience of victims in the criminal justice system. You will be a part of a small but enthusiastic research team, while also having the opportunity to lead your own project.

You will have the opportunity to recruit participants and manage a Lived Experience Engagement Forum, and to regularly engage, build and maintain close relationships with the forum's participants. You will also need to conduct workshops/focus groups to collect feedback and insights from the participants on various products and procedures, and produce summaries of this feedback.

To be successful in the role you will need to have proven experience in recruiting vulnerable people to take part in research activities and conducting workshops or focus groups and interviews. Experience in writing and analysing surveys is an advantage. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently, as well as experience of working in partnership with various stakeholders. Having knowledge of victims of crime is desirable, but not essential.

Your goal will be to ensure Family Fund’s strategy is understood, and that mutually beneficial relationships are formed. In addition, you will seek out opportunities which allow Family Fund to achieve its key priorities, deliver added value for funders, and secure positive outcomes for our beneficiaries.

You will be acknowledged as a senior Family Fund representative across the disability sector, deputising for the Group CEO, or Directors on committees and at events as required.

Finally, you will build effective partnerships and proactively develop activities with key organisations across public, private and third sectors.
