Harris Hill is working with an education based organisation, supporting their search for an interim Events Manager, working remotely, 4 days per week, for 3- 6 months.

Business and project management

Devise and manage project plans, risk registers and budgets for events and associated areas of operations.

Negotiate with potential and selected suppliers of products and services to secure best value, and manage and develop long term relationships with its suppliers.

Recruit, train, and line manage casual staff employed by the organisation in the run-up to and during conferences. 

General

The Operations Officer is a pivotal member of the team who will support the organisation to run its activities efficiently and effectively. Purpose of Role

The Operations Officer is a varied role that helps keep the charity’s different functions running smoothly. Working closely with a small team a typical day can be a combination of regular tasks involving prompt and careful handling of incoming communications by email, post and telephone call, responding to invoices or payment requests and preparation of letters, contracts or reports. Other tasks such as recruitment support, staff onboarding, events and travel planning are less routine but may be part of your day as and when they occur.

Team co-ordinating

· Manage calendars and appointments, scheduling team meetings, appointments and events.

· Co-ordinate travel plans including booking transport, accommodation and supporting visa application processes.

· Attend quarterly Board meetings, taking minutes.

· Assist in the preparation and distribution of Board materials.

· Track charity assets and equipment, liaising with outsourced IT support as necessary.

HR Support

Purpose of the Role

The fundraising team at Breaking Barriers generates income from a range of sources: trusts and foundations, statutory and lottery, corporate and major donors. We sit within the wider Income and Engagement Directorate, alongside communications and public fundraising, and work closely together to drive income and engagement from funders, partners and supporters who share our vision that every refugee can access meaningful employment and build a new life. 

The Development Officer manages our portfolio of small trusts and foundations (grants up to £10,000), securing income and developing relationships from existing donors and new prospects. The role involves writing compelling funding proposals, delivering effective stewardship, and meeting all reporting requirements to a high standard.

Alongside portfolio management, the post-holder co-ordinates our fundraising events programme, ensuring both online and in-person events deepen engagement with our cause. The role also provides active support across fundraising appeals and the statutory, lottery and major donor income streams, including prospect research. The post-holder will also contribute to the operational efficiency of the fundraising team through effective administration.

This is a varied, fast-paced role that will suit someone with strong writing skills, attention to detail and a genuine commitment to our mission. It offers real scope to develop knowledge and skills across a wide range of fundraising disciplines within a supportive and ambitious team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Income generation (60%)

· Manage and develop a portfolio of trusts and foundations awarding grants of up to £10,000, delivering tailored stewardship and relationship management across both warm relationships and cold prospects.

· Plan, write and submit compelling funding applications based on a clear understanding of Breaking Barriers' programmes, funding needs and funder requirements.

· Manage all reporting requirements within your portfolio, ensuring reports are completed accurately and to deadline.

· Manage event logistics including venue sourcing, guest list coordination, on-the-day support and follow-up.

· Lead on the development of stewardship materials for philanthropy audiences, including impact updates, newsletters and event collateral.

3. Prospect Research and Fundraising Administration (15%)

· Carry out prospect research to support the major gifts, statutory and lottery fundraising pipelines, producing clear, well-structured briefings for senior colleagues.

· Build and maintain funder profiles, recording prospect activity, research findings and pipeline information accurately in Salesforce.

Reporting to the Director of Fundraising, you will play a key supporting role within the fundraising team, assisting the Corporate Partnerships Manager and the Communications team. With a key aim of delivering agreed activity and growing income from corporate partnerships.

This role focuses on supporting the identification and recruitment of new regional, national and international corporate supporters, while also playing a lead role in managing and stewarding existing partnerships, with particular responsibility for communications activity and delivery of sponsorship activities and events.

World Horse Welfare has seen a substantial growth in corporate support over the past four years, so this post presents significant opportunities to be part of a growing income stream as the charity celebrates its centenary in 2027.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supporting New Business Development

• Assist in researching and identifying prospective regional, national and international corporate partners aligned with the organisation’s mission and values
• Support the development of tailored proposals, pitches and presentations for potential corporate supporters
• Help prepare outreach materials, including emails, decks, and briefing documents
• Maintain and update prospect pipelines and CRM records
• Attend meetings and events with prospective partners, taking notes and following up on actions
• Work closely with the charity’s rescue and rehoming centres and wider team to identify new corporate funding and partnership opportunities.

Managing Existing Corporate Partnerships

• Provide day-to-day support in the management of existing corporate accounts
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with partner contacts
• Ensure partnerships are delivered in line with agreed objectives and timelines
• Support the monitoring and reporting of partnership performance and impact
• Attend events linked to corporate supporters to represent the charity, with UK-wide travel sometimes required
• Help organise and attend large corporate volunteer days at the charity’s rescue and rehoming centres

Communications & Engagement

• Maintain a strong understanding of World Horse Welfare’s work to ensure relevance in our corporate partnership work
• Develop close working relationships with Communications team and work closely with them on creating and scheduling of agreed corporate content in line with communications schedules.
• Coordinate and deliver partnership communications, including newsletters, updates, impact reports, and social media content
• Lead on gathering content to form the basis of partnership communication obligations
• Work with internal teams to ensure consistent and high-quality messaging including drafting copy in line with brand messaging, obtaining appropriate images, developing related materials and ensuring approval processes are followed.
• Support the planning and execution of partner engagement activities, campaigns, and events
• Ensure partners receive appropriate recognition and visibility in line with agreements

Sponsorship & Agreement Management

• Assist in drafting and managing sponsorship agreements and partnership contracts
• Track and fulfil contractual benefits (e.g. branding, hospitality, social media, volunteering, speaking opportunities)
• Maintain accurate records of deliverables and ensure all obligations are met
• Support the review and renewal of agreements

Administration & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records within the CRM system
• Track income, pledges, and invoices
• Support preparation of reports and presentations
• Provide general administrative support to Corporate Fundraising Manager and Director of Fundraising in relation to corporate support

In this role you will develop and deliver accessible content and learning activities that promote evidence-informed practice and policy across child and family social care, youth and family justice as part of our annual delivery programme for our partners. The successful candidate will have experience designing and delivering resources, workshops, webinars, and events for a range of audiences, including senior leaders.

Key responsibilities are:

• Producing evidence-informed practice and policy resources in a range of formats (e.g. publications, videos, podcasts, animations). This includes evidence scoping, content development, commissioning, project management, editing, writing and quality assuring resources from inception to publication.
• Leading the development and delivery of concise, accessible content and learning activities to enable the development of evidence-informed practice and policy in the sector.
• Developing and facilitating learning sessions and events with a range of participants, including senior leaders across the sector.
• Working on a range of commissioned project work, from development/design through to analysis; presenting findings on completion and representing Research in Practice in project teams with academic and practice partners.
• Building strong relationships with sector experts and effectively managing relationships with authors, facilitators, people with lived experience and those working in research, policy and practice.
