Overall job purpose

This is a fundamental role within our regional teams, internally the role is known as Local Community Officer.

The future of CCT’s outstanding collection of historic churches depends on communities supporting their local CCT church with funds, events, inspiring interpretation, visitor services and preventive conservation. The Local Community Officer will engage and support communities and volunteers to care for 13 historic churches across Norfolk, ensuring each site achieves agreed standards.

About the role

The Development Team is responsible for generating income to support the organisation. Salary: £24,000 per annum (0.8 FTE, based on a full-time equivalent salary of £30,000)

Hours: Part time (28 hours per week to be worked over 4 or 5 days)

Location: Home-based in the UK with occasional paid travel to London

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, efficient and experienced fundraiser who can adapt, react to and maximise income opportunities in a challenging fundraising landscape; someone who is genuinely excited about our vision and mission, can work independently as well as within a team structure and can translate our work into credible, effective and powerful fundraising messaging. Your primary focus will be driving our medium- to long-term income streams i.e. regular giving and legacies.

Purpose of the Role

The Director of External Affairs and Growth is an SLT role responsible for leveraging the voice and power of the eoa's network to influence and accelerate the growth of the employee owned sector.

The role leads the eoa’s external affairs, policy and insights, marcomms and events, shaping the external environment for employee ownership and securing the funding and commercial income needed to support sustainable sector growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead external affairs strategy, building the relationships and influence needed to shape policy, remove barriers and expand EO.
• Build strategic relationships and secure grant funding and commercial partnerships, generating income to support advocacy, events and sector growth initiatives, including the UK EO Growth Strategy.
• Oversee our policy and insights work, engaging key stakeholders to co-produce content that influences EO practice and policy and strengthens the eoa’s voice in public affairs.
• Oversee the delivery of a mar-comms strategy that delivers commercial objectives and positions the eoa as the leading authority on EO.
• Oversee our events programmes, ensuring they drive knowledge-sharing, sector development
• and commercial sustainability.
• Represent the eoa at industry forums, policy roundtables and public affairs events,
• championing the employee ownership model.
• Collaborate with the Director of Membership and Operations to align advocacy and external
• engagement with member needs and priorities.
• Lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering innovation and delivering measurable impact across income generation, advocacy, policy, events and mar-comms activities

• Proven expertise in external affairs, advocacy, or policy leadership, ideally within a business, trade body, or membership association.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience influencing government, media, and corporate partners.

• Strong commercial acumen, with experience in sponsorship acquisition, revenue generation, grant funding and developing financially sustainable initiatives.

What Constitutes Success in This Role?

Success in this role means having a positive impact on the growth of the employee-owned sector, strengthening the eoa’s influence and increasing the adoption of “great EO”. Stronger stakeholder relationships, greater advocacy impact and improved commercial sustainability through a diverse mix of grant funding, sponsorships and strategic partnerships will also be key indicators of success.

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Fundraising Development Officer to join the Fundraising Development team and play a key role in raising vital income to support nature recovery across South West England. You'll build and manage relationships with major donors, secure funding through grants and legacy giving, and help deliver ambitious fundraising plans for projects, including the South West Rainforest Recovery Treescape.

This role is advertised as full-time, 37.5 hours per week.

The Role:

• Manage and grow a portfolio of major donors and prospects to secure significant philanthropic income, improve donor loyalty, and promote blended and legacy giving.
• Lead fundraising strategy and delivery for the Rainforest Recovery Treescape initiative, securing funding and acting as its fundraising champion.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, partners and internal stakeholders to maximise restricted and unrestricted fundraising opportunities.
• Develop compelling funding proposals, cases for support and other fundraising materials to secure income for regional projects.
• Work collaboratively across the South West and wider Woodland Trust to develop and deliver fundraising plans supporting nature recovery, woodland creation, outreach and land acquisition.
• Support and maximise fundraising events across the South West and UK to engage donors and generate income.
• Secure funding from regional grant-makers and community funding programmes, including local authorities, lottery and environmental funding sources.
• Collaborate with operational, grants and regional teams to identify funding opportunities and submit high-quality bids aligned with regional priorities.
• This is a homebased role, requiring regular travel to locations within the South West landscape, sometimes to remote locations. You would be expected to live within reasonable travelling distance of your area of responsibility. Occasional travel to regional offices and overnight stays will be required.
• This role does not come with a company vehicle, however after a 9-month period in-post, we will review vehicle business use to see if the post-holder is reaching the eligibility criteria as stated in our Company Vehicle Policy.  If the post-holder complies with those criteria, with sign off from our Facilities Team, a vehicle will be sourced and provided. Please note that our Company Vehicle Policy is also under review as part of our Job Families and Contract Review project, so the eligibility criteria therein are subject to change in due course.

The Candidate:

• Experience in fundraising, the charity sector or a target-driven communications environment.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage, influence and inspire a wide range of audiences.
• Strong planning and organisational skills, with experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
• Proven ability to develop donor or prospect pipelines and build successful partnerships through networking and collaboration.
• Experience securing major gifts or high-value funding from individuals, trusts or foundations, including gifts of £50,000+ (desirable).
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of fundraising markets and opportunities (desirable).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM/database systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365).
• Full UK driving licence.

We’re looking for a collaborative, highly organised Youth Engagement Project Officer, who is passionate about building opportunities for children and young people in libraries.

You’ll have great communication skills and enthusiasm for platforming young people’s voices. You’ll also know how to manage priorities, keep projects within deadline and budget, and accurately collect and compile data. As a natural people-person, you’ll feel confident supporting library teams, partners and colleagues and be happy taking initiative.

Experience of libraries is not required as you’ll have lots of opportunities to learn about our sector in this role.
