New Art Exchange (NAE) is a pioneering creative space in Hyson Green, Nottingham. We’re the UK’s largest gallery dedicated to contemporary visual arts from the Global Ethnic Majority. We set out to reshape the contemporary art narrative by championing diversity and inclusivity and by providing a platform for underrepresented voices in the art world. 

Purpose of the role

The Community and Participation Manager will be a key member of NAE’s Neighbourhood’s team, responsible for ensuring the effective planning, coordination, and delivery of a wide range of community projects and events that engage and inspire our local communities (predominantly from the Global Ethnic Majority). Based from within NAE’s purpose built creative space, in the heart of one of Nottingham’s most diverse areas - Hyson Green, the post holder will work with local community partners, schools and other key stakeholders to ensure the community programme is representative of the diverse voices from our local communities and has their involvement through all that we do.

Main duties of the role

With strategic oversight from the Head of Neighbourhood develop and deliver a diverse range of activity with and for the community including (but not limited to) workshops, festivals, conferences, and functions, ensuring they are aligned with NAE’s overall vision, goals and budget.

Supporting the Head of Neighbourhoods to identify and secure external funding opportunities, sponsorships, and partnerships to support the events when required.

Act as lead contact with key stakeholders, including community groups, schools, partners, citizen panels, artists, vendors, and local authorities, to ensure smooth collaboration and communication.

Support the Comms team to develop and implement marketing and promotional strategies to raise awareness of projects and events with a focus on attracting diverse audiences.

Manage budgets and financial reporting for community projects, ensuring that expenses are within budget and that financial records are accurate and up to date. In line with the overarching Neighbourhoods strategy, develop project plans, budgets, and timelines and maintain accurate records.

Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and obtain necessary permits and licenses.

Lead project staff (including contracting and acting as project manager and day to day contact for them) which will consist of freelancers, contractors, and volunteers.

Track progress, address issues, and produce reports and evaluations for internal and external stakeholders, including NAE’s Senior Management Team and local community leaders.

In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.   

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by funding great initiatives, finding what works and working for change – scaling up and spreading the practices that make a difference.    

Our Change team does this by building excellent relationships and sharing evidence of what works with organisations and key individuals across the public, private, third sectors and local communities. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, proactive and highly organised Change and Events Officer to join our Change team to help us fulfil our mission.    

 Key responsibilities  

Most fundamentally, your job is to work as a member of our Change team to make sure we’re excellent at running events and managing relationships with key stakeholders. You’ll make sure the team is incredibly organised and has the support it needs to work effectively. Key responsibilities:  

• Event Organising. Help to organise events, from small roundtables to large in person conferences. You will help make sure events run brilliantly, from booking venues to managing invites and organising materials.   

• External Relationship Management Support. Provide support to the team in managing external relationships by scheduling meetings, organising workshops and developing materials.   

• Meeting Effectiveness. Make sure certain meetings are effective. You’ll do this by organising the meetings, taking great minutes, making sure we keep track of things we said we would do and saving the documents in the right place.   

• Project Support. Help ensure projects within the Change teams are done brilliantly. This may involve administrative tasks, tracking deadlines or leading projects as needed.   

• Query Management. Monitor and respond to general queries by managing the team inbox.   

• Salesforce Reporting and Stakeholder Communication. Lead on coordinating Salesforce reporting and effective communication outreach for key stakeholder groups.  

• Stakeholder Engagement and Change Activities. Develop and support stakeholder engagement and Change activities, including monitoring and compiling feedback from surveys.  

• Team Scorecard Coordination. Lead on co-ordinating the team scorecard, ensuring that the team is on track with targets. 

• Collaboration. Work closely with other roles (including our Operations and Culture team) within YEF to ensure coordinated efforts and sharing of best practices.

Hybrid working details

Role description

As Commercial Sales & Events Manager you’ll take the lead in maximising venue hire and events income to support the organisation’s charitable aims. You’ll possess the skills and experience to organise and deliver weddings, corporate events and venue hires and work with our outsourced caterers and other contractors to ensure a first-class customer experience. You’ll also be working with our outsourced film contractors to secure bookings for filming and photo shoots across the Estate. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are a key part of the role, as you’ll be liaising with clients, contractors, suppliers and staff, as is the ability to develop new business and leads. In addition, you’ll need excellent project management skills and the ability to develop and manage budgets. About Us

The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. Additionally, our UR4Jobs project focusses on both client wellbeing and breaking down the many barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged people every day.

The role

This newly scoped role reports into the CEO and is critical to our ability to create the income we need to keep up with the ever-increasing demand on our services. Primarily, the role has two fundamental elements to it: firstly, working with both a specialist external consultant and the CEO in planning, submitting and reporting on the grants that make up a large proportion of our income; and secondly, the planning and managing of TUR’s traditional (and always fun) annual events. These include celebrity interviews and talks, garden parties and various community events such as the Green Days festival in Chiswick. There are additionally a number of community relationships that add great value to our work and efforts to raise funds which require regular contact. Occasionally, the role will also require presenting or talking to both funders and community groups as we share our magnificent story with them – and ultimately, convince them to support us.

About You

You live within – or know well – West/Central London; you probably need a job with some working flexibility and want to have genuine belief in the cause you’re promoting. You have a CV that demonstrates experience in a comparable role: this could be in another charity, CIC or other Non-Profit organisation. You are comfortable and confident with working autonomously, so you will need to be disciplined; you can articulate and ‘bring to life’ our story through your advanced written and oral communication skills, enabling us to always deliver highly compelling reasons to secure gain financial (and other) support. You don’t need to be a Microsoft Office expert, but you should be familiar with Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Events Fundraiser

MRF National Events Programme

The MRF National Events Fundraiser is responsible for a significant proportion of our events income with hundreds of runners each year taking on the challenge of participating in iconic races such as TCS London Marathon and A J Bell Great North Run.

Many of our race participants join Team MRF for deeply personal reasons, having had first-hand experience of the disease. Without Team MRF runners we would not be where we are in the race to defeat Meningitis, they are fundamental to our work and have been so since our early days as a charity.

The National Events Fundraiser is an enjoyable role at MRF within a very successful fundraising team, which last year raised over £500,000 by supporting hundreds of runners on Team MRF.

With many different elements to the role from planning, marketing, stewardship and event delivery you will need to be flexible and adaptable. This isn’t a fully desk-based job, as at different points of the year you will get the chance to meet Team MRF runners face to face by attending the events themselves and delivering celebratory post-race receptions.

With large teams of runners across a rolling annual events programme you must feel comfortable in managing deadlines, overlapping plans and keeping on top of supporter communications. Whilst we have systems in place to support this, our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys taking responsibility for their own workload.

This a fun role that sees the events through from start to finish and a great opportunity for the right candidate.

About the Senior Uniformed Events Officer role:

We are currently seeking an experienced events professional to join our busy Operations team to coordinate, deliver and promote MSSC uniformed events. Based at our London NSC, the Senior Uniformed Events Officer will be responsible for delivering a series of existing events and for identifying opportunities to expand the event calendar by developing effective strategies and plans designed to maximise the charities profile. Your role will be to further develop and deliver a range of events and initiatives that the Harlequins Foundation offers to its supporters to help us to raise the funds we need to deliver our programmes. As the charitable arm of the Club, we deliver a variety of programmes aimed at achieving improved outcomes for education and employability, wellbeing and inclusion. The role will play a key part in delivering high-profile fundraising events while building the Foundation’s engagement with different communities and supporter types, being instrumental in delivering campaigns and events to engage new audiences with the Foundation’s purpose.

As a proactive and enthusiastic person, you'll need to be adept at managing multiple projects and events concurrently. Working closely with the Head of Fundraising and Engagement and within a small Fundraising team, the successful applicant will be responsible for delivering events from Harlequins matchday activations to Foundation fundraising events.

You will develop key relationships within the Foundation and Club’s network of supporters, suppliers and delivery partners and manage a portfolio of events and activities for a range of supporter groups.

The successful candidate will be experienced in planning and delivering a variety of events, ideally within the charity sector with a focus on fundraising. Qualifications and Experience

• Educated to degree level or demonstrable equivalent experience
• Exceptional events management and project management experience; managing a range of events and budgets in size, profile and scale

Main purpose of Job:

Management of day-to-day parish activities including the general administration of the Parish Office, the running of all church operations, including building, fabric, communications, and the organisation of social, outreach and fundraising events (including publicity and marketing) that support the life and ministry of this diverse, vibrant and inclusive church in the modern catholic tradition of the Church of England.

We seek a Parish Administrator & Events Co-ordinator who will help us continue to grow as a community space as we seek to increase our revenue from available spaces to hire and increase our activity in terms of marketing, communications and events,  as part of our mission alongside our local community. You will join a growing and supportive team to work alongside including the Vicar, PCC members, Music Director, Financial Assistant, and others to help St Peter’s fulfil its mission to be a Church which worships, nurtures, and takes action!

Main Duties and Responsibilities & Person Specification:

The Parish Administrator & Events Co-Ordinator is a key person in the life of St Peter’s who works closely with the Vicar, Treasurer, Director of Music, Churchwardens, PCC, regular volunteers and the wider community of De Beauvoir Town. This role is both administrative and a key personal contact for the many individuals and groups in the life of St Peter’s.

Essential:

• Excellent organisational skills with experience of administration
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Financially confident
• Excellent IT skills with working experience of Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Working knowledge of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
• Working experience of digital communication systems including email marketing tools, websites, and use of social media
• IT Skills – familiarity with (or willingness and capacity to learn): InDesign software and use of cloud-based storage systems, such as Google Drive; Finance Software for Churches and Charities or similar accounting software; WordPress or Squarespace.

Desirable:

• Previous experience working in a church context
• Experience of the faculty process in the Church of England
• Project and event-planning experience

• Lead on all commissioning activity at Kinship directly with commissioners and through tendering activity.
