About IKWRO

IKWRO –Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO) is an award-winning charity founded (as the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation) in 2002. IKWRO is a registered charity which provides advice and support to Middle Eastern, North African and Afghan women and girls living in the UK, who have experienced, or are at risk of all forms of “honour” based abuse, including; forced marriage, child marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM), or domestic abuse.

We work with women and girls of all ages, including lesbian women, bisexual women and trans women. We offer services in Kurdish, Farsi, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Turkish and English. IKWRO offers free advice, advocacy and counselling services and operates a refuge which provides safe accommodation and specialist support to single women at risk of “honour” based abuse, forced marriage and domestic abuse.

IKWRO also provides training for women and girls to help them understand their rights in the UK. In partnership with other organisations, we assist survivors of abuse with accessing English language classes and education, training and employment opportunities.

As well as supporting women and girls directly, we offer advice and training for professionals from the statutory and voluntary sectors, to better understand the needs of the women and girls we represent, the types of abuse they experience and to provide best practice prevention and support services.

We campaign to increase awareness and improve laws and policies to tackle all forms of “honour” based abuse and harmful practices including; forced marriage, child marriage, marital captivity, female genital mutilation, virginity testing and hymenoplasty, discrimination by sharia courts and to push for better laws and policies to protect women’s and girl’s rights.

Purpose of Job

The Fundraising Officer will work as part of the Fundraising and Marketing team and will be responsible for:

• Nurturing relationships with existing and prospective donors

• Sustaining and developing our group of individual and community-based supporters.

• Growing income, including regular giving, donations, appeals, legacy giving, community groups and other fundraising activities.

We are looking for a strong communicator with some experience of fundraising who is keen to develop their career in this area.

This post can be undertaken on a hybrid working basis with some days home-working and some days working in IKWRO’s offices.

CamSight is a respected charity that supports local people of all ages living with low vision and blindness in Cambridgeshire to live the lives they choose. The charity offers an holistic service ensuring any person with a vision impairment gets the support they need, when they need it.

We are looking to recruit a Corporate and Partnerships Fundraiser to raise the profile and awareness of CamSight and increase income through developing and securing a range of funding streams including Corporates and their employees whilst developing new relationships and partnerships. We have the only epilepsy bereavement service freely available to anyone suddenly bereaved by epilepsy (including SUDEP). Working both independently and with the wider team you will deliver a high-quality community fundraising service. We’re looking for someone who has worked in a fundraising department and/or similar role before, preferably in the charity sector. Engaging confidently with people and feeling comfortable in adapting your approach to different audiences is a key skill for this role - whether they are major donors, corporates or community fundraisers. This is particularly important as many of our supporters & fundraisers are bereaved.

Building positive supporter connections is at the heart of what we do at SUDEP Action, so setting a positive example of this through your plans and actions, and demonstrating the importance of maintaining strong, personalised supporter relationships is key. You’ll know how to follow processes to record, monitor and evaluate supporters’ engagement with community fundraising activities, so this feeds back into how the charity operates.

Much of the charity’s income comes from our motivated and passionate supporters, so this role is a key part of income generation. The successful candidate will be able to build on current processes and successes to grow our engagement across all fundraising activities, platforms and campaigns. Experience of bid/grant writing would be desirable.  

Arts Emergency is looking for an enthusiastic person to join its dynamic Fundraising & Marketing team. 

This rewarding role involves focusing on communicating with and nurturing a large network of donors. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fundraising environment and a good grasp of general fundraising principles and best practices in fundraising.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide first-line support for all fundraising enquiries and ensure they are followed up appropriately and in a timely manner
• Ensure the fundraising database and Gift Aid declarations are up to date
• Support the Head of Fundraising in preparing income reports
• Send thank you emails and post packs to donors at all levels, and keep the website up to date with donor recognition
• Coordinate donor relationships and user experiences within Arts Emergency for regular and one-off donors and for community fundraisers
• Conduct detailed, ongoing research into new funding opportunities and prospective supporters
• Support the Finance team with income administration
• With the wider team, design a schedule of innovative donor events and coordinate preparation
• Contribute to donor communications on social media
• Undertake any task that may be requested from time to time that may be consistent with the scope of this post

Fundraising Development Manager

About the role

Are you an experienced corporate fundraiser with an interest in working in the international development sector? Are you creative, strategic, highly organised, a confident and effective communicator and strong team player? 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Corporate Fundraising Manager to work closely with the Head of Programme Funding to drive new donor engagement and secure sustainable, multi-year funding. Main purpose of the role

Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, this post will lead on the development and delivery of Thrive’s community and public fundraising whilst working collaboratively with the rest of fundraising team to maximise and develop opportunities over various income streams.

Schoolreaders was launched ten years ago in Bedfordshire with the aim of recruiting volunteers to provide one-to-one reading support for children in primary schools across the country. Over 22,000 children in over 1000 schools are receiving weekly reading sessions from a Schoolreaders volunteer.
