The role
We’re seeking a Research Officer to join our fantastic Research team following an internal promotion within the team.
- You will be ensuring that the management of funding rounds is robust, coordinated, and delivered to the highest possible quality, and that the funding rounds we offer address key needs of the research and patient community.
- You will be responsible for managing key stakeholders in the grant funding process, including applicants, award holders and committee members to organise key events.
- You will be liaising with researchers and people with lived experience of pancreatic cancer to coordinate meaningful internal and external public and patient involvement (PPI) through our Research Involvement Network.
About You
- You will need sound knowledge of research principles and the UK research funding environment.
- Experience of working in a scientific or clinical research context with an undergraduate degree, preferably with a biomedical focus.
- An understanding of patient and public involvement and how to converse with people affected by pancreatic cancer.
- An ability to build relationships and coordinate working with many large and diverse specialist stakeholder groups.

Purpose of the role:
The Junior Salesforce Administrator role supports the effective use and ongoing development of the Churchill Fellowship’s Salesforce CRM platform and related applications. Working closely with the Salesforce Team and other internal teams, you will ensure our data remains accurate and accessible, help to improve business processes, and provides user support and training across the organisation. You will play a key part in ensuring Salesforce functions as the single source of truth for organisational data.
Key responsibilities:
Salesforce Administration and Support:
- Support day-to-day Salesforce user needs, including responding to support tickets and troubleshooting.
- Maintain data quality through duplicate management, validation rules, and standardised field formatting.
- Assist with regular data cleaning activities and updates to system records.
- Help to prepare technical documentation and user guidance materials.

We work alongside people to help them escape poverty, build confidence, and find community.
Our principal activity is the prevention of food poverty and food insecurity by offering culturally appropriate food, fresh fruits, and
vegetables as well as dietary and religiously appropriate food which we have continued to run at our five-week sessions to local people for as long as they address the underlying cause.
We also provide a range of wraparound support, including advice services, particularly around employment and immigration through our Back2Work Team, Holiday Clubs for Children, Youth Groups, a Clothing Bank and our Spring Up Women’s group.

Main Purposes of Job and Key Tasks
We are seeking a highly organised and quick-witted Operations Officer to join our dynamic team at Spring Community Hub. The ideal candidate will have experience in operations or project management and excel at managing multiple priorities simultaneously. This role is crucial in supporting the day-to-day operations of the organisation and ensuring smooth workflows across various departments.
In addition to their primary operations duties, the Operations Officer will also play a key role in recruiting and managing volunteers, organising events, and assisting with fundraising activities. About the role
We are looking to recruit a Youth Outreach Worker in London for a new role within our UK Safeguarding on Transport Programme. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Income generation
- To plan for and deliver income to target through key performance indicators as agreed with community fundraising manager.

Job description – Cara Funding and Communications Manager
This is a critical time to join our dedicated team as we expand our work in response to the growing risk to academics and universities worldwide. Building on our 93 years of experience and partnerships with 135 UK university, this role provides an excellent opportunity for a dynamic fundraiser to grow our support from individual and organisations.
Line Manager: Chief Executive
Objective: The Funding and Communications Manger leads on the delivery of our fundraising strategy to diversify and grow Cara’s income streams.
Hours: Full-time. Eight hours each day Monday – Friday, with flexible working by arrangement around core hours of 10am – 4pm.
Location: Hybrid working - in London office in Elephant and Castle SE1 (2-3 set days per week) and working from home on the remaining days.
Role purpose - responsible for executing fundraising strategy to generate increased income for Cara’s work - identify and cultivate potential donors, manage fundraising events and campaigns, and ensure compliance with fundraising regulations.
Detailed responsibilities:
· Fundraising Strategy and business plan:
Work closely with the Chief Executive to review and adapt our fundraising strategy and business plan and produce analytics to review performance by income type and to help set stretching and achievable targets and improvement plans for each income stream. Implement and develop fundraising plans, including initiation and management of campaigns. Take responsibility for developing new income streams and products including alumni and legacy giving.
· Relationship Building:
Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and prospective donors, including individuals, major donors, and foundations. Work with the Cara team to ensure effective relationship management across all donors and lead on donor identification for all income streams. Identify opportunities for pro bono support in support of the Cara strategy.
· Event Management:
Organize and manage fundraising events, ensuring successful execution and high engagement with our target audiences. This includes a schedule of location-based university engagement events (up to twelve per year) to engage existing individual donors, build awareness of Cara’s work, and cultivate new individual donors. Collaborate with contacts at each university to plan, deliver and follow up on each event. Lead on other key Cara events including the annual science and civilisation lecture to ensure that these build the Cara brand.
· Data Management for donor stewardship:
Maintain accurate donor records (on salesforce) and build and maintain fundraising databases for individuals and organisational donors to manage engagement throughout the donor journey. Maintain a view of Cara’s pipeline income to support the work of the Cara management team and reports to support accountability and trustee engagement including return on investment for each income stream.
· Communication:
Prepare and distribute fundraising materials, including appeals, newsletters, social media content, and articles for the website. Develop a range of case-studies profiling the work of Cara (including programmes, university partners, and individual academics). Collaborate closely with the Chief Executive to build the Cara brand through co-ordination of Cara’s presence at events and through priority digital channels.
· Proposal writing
Lead on proposal writing for major donors and philanthropic funding. Collaborate with colleagues on larger grants taking responsibility to overall proposal quality and timely submission. Ensure that the team work to agreed standards on all written reports and proposals to donors.
· Compliance:
Adhering to fundraising regulations, such as those outlined by the Fundraising Regulator, and ensuring that all fundraising activities are ethical and legal. Develop policies and practices to manage risk including appropriate due diligence and gift acceptance policies.

Stay up to date on signals and trends in fundraising relevant to Cara’s work and use these to inform our business planning and risk/opportunity management.

My Life Films is an award-winning charity that uses film and TV to enrich and support the lives of people living with dementia and their carers. My Life TV is our specialist on-demand streaming service, specifically designed to meet the cognitive needs of people living with dementia, for use within care settings and at home.
My Life Films is seeking a Finance Manager to ensure the organisation is compliant with all statutory and regulatory requirements with regards to the main charity and its subsidiary. The post-holder is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of the organisation’s finances, including accurate reporting and maintenance and development of financial systems and processes that are fit for purpose.
You will have plenty of autonomy to manage your workload and diary, and to succeed in this role you will need to be a self-starter with plenty of enthusiasm and drive. You will be part of a small, dynamic team, who work very collaboratively and supportively.
Key Responsibilities – include but not limited to
• Ensure that appropriate financial policies and procedures are in place to deliver effective financial management to guide the organisation’s financial decision making
• Complete and submit information to Companies House and the Charity Commission as required by statutory regulations and requirements
• Maintain appropriate accounting systems, control and records, ensuring compliance with statutory and related accounting and tax regulations and requirements
• Process monthly payroll and pensions and oversee VAT and corporation tax returns by external accountants
• Maintain records to meet legal and financial requirements and sufficient to measure, monitor and evaluate financial plans in relation to both inputs and outputs of the organisation’s operations
• Provide a bookkeeping service and regular information for use by Trustees, Directors and Senior Management in planning and controlling the work of My Life Films and its subsidiary, including producing quarterly management accounts
• Manage the organisation’s relationship with bankers, external accountants, and investment and other financial advisors effectively
• Manage the relationship with the insurers, ensuring that the company has the appropriate insurance policies in place
• Oversee the statutory annual financial statements and reports prepared by external accountants, complete annual reporting on a timely basis and manage the annual independent examination and audit process
• Ensure the security and confidential storage of all financial and legal documents
• Attend and contribute to internal meetings, training sessions, external events and Board Meetings as required
