We are an award-winning national charity which trains over 17,000 young people affected by street violence each year in emergency first-aid through a team of 250 healthcare volunteers and youth workers. We empower young people with the skills to become part of the solution to violence by developing the skills and confidence to save lives and increasing their understanding of the medical and psychological consequences of violence.
As the StreetDoctors lead for operational delivery, the role will manage and develop the organisation's delivery capacity and implement new innovative national projects. Supporting parents beyond the school gate

Parentkind has responded to this moment with compassion, agility and purpose, through a series of transformative campaigns, resources, and partnerships.
Our No Cold Child initiative with FatFace stepped in to address a stark statistic: over 150,000 children in the UK do not own a winter coat due to poverty. Through our trusted relationships with schools we distributed 10,000 warm, high-quality coats worth £600,000 to the children who needed them most. Winning the Business Charity Awards ‘Fashion & Retail’ Award, and shortlisted for two further awards, the campaign has been praised not just for providing warmth, but for restoring dignity, inclusion, and school readiness to thousands of children.
The All Dressed Up campaign—developed with World Book Day and Rubies Masquerade—confronted the often-overlooked issue of financial exclusion on key celebration days. More than 100,000 free dressing up costumes worth £1.34 million were delivered to children from low-income families. By enabling participation in events like World Book Day, we helped spark imagination, joy, and belonging for children who might otherwise feel left out—boosting self-esteem and supporting a positive connection to learning.Furthermore, helping attract children into school on a day which often sees struggling parents keep their children at home.
Alongside these national campaigns, Parentkind supports families year-round through a growing suite of programmes designed to inform, prepare and empower parents. Our Be School Ready programme offers crucial guidance and confidence to parents preparing their children for the leap into primary education. With a mix of practical advice, developmental tips, and reassurance, through the distribution of 150,000 copies of Be School Ready and an online campaign, it supports families at one of the most formative moments in their child’s life.
We also deliver a wide-ranging series of live expert webinars and parent-friendly resources, covering topics such as managing anxiety, supporting special educational needs, navigating school transitions, and building home-school partnerships. These resources, developed in consultation with experts and rooted in lived parent experience, equip families to feel informed and empowered, no matter what challenges arise.
Our direct support of schools
Our collaboration with Asda on Cashpot for Schools is another example of unlocking support at scale. This innovative community-led funding model allowed shoppers to nominate and fund their local schools simply through everyday spending. This campaign has generated £5.78 million for schools during the past twelve months, supporting everything from basic classroom supplies to vital extracurricular programmes and pupil wellbeing initiatives. Also shortlisted for a Business Charity Award, it is already a model for community-driven philanthropy.
In April, we launched our Parent-Friendly Schools Accreditation Programme, designed to formally recognise schools that go above and beyond in fostering positive, inclusive relationships with parents. The accreditation celebrates schools that actively listen to parent voices, make engagement easy and accessible, and embed family partnership in their culture. It is a practical and inspiring tool to drive long-term change in the sector and offers a roadmap for schools wanting to strengthen their community.
Our focus on Policy & Research
Our work is grounded in evidence. Since 2023, we have conducted the UK’s largest annual parent survey: the National Parent Survey. With approaching 6,000 participants providing 130,000 bits of data to provide invaluable insights into the struggles, concerns, hopes and fears of parents. The findings are fed directly into government consultations and have already informed national debates on school funding, attendance, mental health support, SEND provision, and curriculum reform.
In each of the past two years the number of policymakers, educators, parents and researchers accessing the National Parent Survey exceeded seven thousand, and the survey featured in more than two hundred media outlets each year. In addition to the National Parent Survey, Parentkind undertakes representative polling of parents throughout the year on a variety of important topics, which increasingly find exposure in the media and policy discussion.
Parentkind provides the secretariat for the Westminster APPG for Parents and the Stormont APG for Parental Participation in Education. Two very successful parliamentary groups bringing together policymakers and a variety of stakeholders to consider the challenges faced by parents and act as a voice for them through a variety of policymakers.
Our Media Engagement
Since becoming recognised as the UK’s largest parent charity, with likely more groups and frontline volunteers than the Scouts or Girlguiding, Parentkind has gained increasing prominence in the media.Beyond the reach of the National Parent Survey and our regular polling, Parentkind receives frequent requests for quotes of reflection and input by media in relation to their journalism and from Government and non-Government entities in support of policy announcements.
Beyond this, the Parentkind community of volunteers and PTAs share local or regional media announcements of their own.Whether or not it celebrating the completion of large projects they have invested countless hours and thousands of pounds into realising, or the community event they have worked into the night to deliver for their school communities.
It will be your role to take this much further, gaining increasing exposure for the work of Parentkind, its community, and parents more broadly.

What we are looking for…
- Someone with a “nose for news” and an understanding what makes a newsworthy opinion poll that will hit the headline and go big on social media.
- We are a small, fast paced team, there are no line management responsibilities attached to the role. We’re looking for someone with a “roll up your sleeves up and get on with it” mentality.
- Being able to demonstrate you can sell our parent voice research and amazing existing data to media across broadcast, social media and print media
- Being able to lead and deliver a plan to raise our profile on social media, broadcast and in print media
- A good understanding of the challenges faced by children and families, education debates and education policy, we are the voice of parents.
- We are a cross party charity and we work with all parties, we want someone who understands that approach and brings it to their work.
- Someone who can to respond to social media debates at pace and make sure are part of the debate.
- Experience of writing compelling written documents when 100 words would make a stronger case than 1,000. You can bring evidence to life and make an argument to convince.
- Someone with experience of appearing on broadcast media and willing to be a ‘talking head’ for Parentkind as required. This is not essential, but it would be great to have someone willing to do this.
Your mission is to massively increase our online, in print and social media presence with a specific focus on policy, research and impact, to make us the highest profile parent charity in the UK. We have a huge amount of data on what parents think and we need you to get it seen. This is a great job for someone who wants to grab hold of a “comms” function and make it their own.

The opportunity
In 2026, Mothers’ Union will be 150 years’ young. This is a major opportunity for MU to celebrate with the membership, and also to use the opportunity to reach out to new members and supporters.
The following have been identified as the major activities for the year:
- London, June 10th: Thanksgiving Service in St Paul’s Cathedral at 5pm, followed by a possible reception.
- London, June 11th: Celebratory Gathering of the membership in central London, at the Emmanuel Centre, near to the base of MU in Mary Sumner House, Westminster.
- A physical exhibition in Mary Sumner House, and a virtual exhibition which can tour.
- Between March (Lady Day) and August (Mary Sumner Day) a range of events organized by provinces and local dioceses, for membership and fundraising, including picnics, Sunday Takeovers and local initiatives such as tree planting.
- In South Africa in October, a Global Gathering of 2500 members and guests, preceded by a leadership. meeting (“Worldwide Council”) and followed by a Worldwide Board meeting.
- For all, a cohesive communications plan is being prepared.
Current Status
Individual teams are taking ownership of elements, which particularly for membership and fundraising initiatives include targets for delivery. These are being finalized as part of the current budgeting process
We are, however, a small staff team, and this workload will be exceptional. Teams are discussing interdependencies and synergies across work streams, but there is a need to ensure that these are coordinated and monitored, and any issues or clashes in priority quickly identified and resolved. Throughout, close collaboration between the staff team and membership will be essential.
The role
There is a need for an experienced project manager to join the team, from October 2025 to November 2026, to provide co-ordination across streams and stakeholders, flag issues early, ensure that all activities are properly planned, resourced and within budget, and that relevant stakeholders are kept informed.
Key Responsibilities
In collaboration with each stream leader, to put together a masterplan with associated budgets, drawing together what has already been prepared, and flagging any potential gaps, synergies or conflicts, for resolution.
This plan will identify clearly accountabilities (and how these sit with the wider work of teams and individuals, staff and members or volunteers).
With the leads, to share the masterplan with the Board, for approval, and provide regular reporting, in line with agreed milestones.
For South Africa: In line with the governance structure approved by the Board in September, to be the coordinator for the Steering Group, Operational Committee and on the ground event management teams, ensuring seamless communications, and timely reporting as required; to manage practical issues with delegates from outside S Africa as they arise, for example around ticketing, and to manage stakeholders. This will, and will require close collaboration with the Director of Fundraising and Communications as senior staff lead and almost certainly require one or more site visits.
For centrally organized events in London: To provide the detailed project management under the Membership Team, ensuring that necessary resource is drawn in for support at key times before, during and if needed after the events; to actively engage in delivery on the days, as required.
For Province and Diocese led events: To work with the Board lead to capture and track all events and their impact, and ensure that resources are made available through the central teams to agreed schedules, and reports received back for communications. This will include ensuring a shared understanding of the initiatives, and the benefits for the wider membership.
For Communications: To work with the lead and all teams, to ensure that all are agreed on and understand the priorities through the year, and that the processes in place to deliver.
Impact tracking: To agree / confirm with each workstream the target impact, and to track against this. To prepare an initial overall impact assessment by end November, 2025.
Reporting: The project manager will report operationally into the CEO or an agreed SLT member, and will provide monthly summary reports to the SLT, flagging any issues for resolution, and timely reports for the Board.
Mothers’ Union is a Christian organization, and all events will be inspired by the Christian faith. The postholder would need to be comfortable in working in a Christian environment, and a practicing Christian would be an advantage.
A project management qualification, such as Prince 2, would be a distinct advantage, and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management.

- A natural teamworker, you will be skilled at identifying solutions together with others, which enable informed choices to be made and decisions respected.
- You will be skilled in risk management, budget and resource management, and be able to work with relevant leads to define and manage key processes.

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern
This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.

Principal Role
- Develop and deliver Back Up’s corporate fundraising strategy, focusing on securing long-term, high-value partnerships with organisations aligned to our mission.

What is the role?

· As an important part of the Hospice team, you will also deliver Hospice educational presentations to schools & community groups that will range from three or four individuals to classes, full school assemblies or School awards nights, across all age groups

About you
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and motivated Project and Programme Manager with experience of delivering complex and multi-stakeholder programmes on time, and within budget.
You will oversee a portfolio of internally and externally-funded projects focused on the delivery of Ukie’s Supercharged mission. Initially, this is likely to include Ukie’s successful Raise the Game initiative alongside a number of smaller skills-related projects.

What you’ll be doing
As a Programme Manager, based primarily within the Education team you will also be responsible for leading on the delivery of a range of funded partner projects. Working with colleagues across teams, you will support funding bids for new education and social impact based projects. Should these be successful then you will hold lead responsibility for co-ordinating work with colleagues to ensure successful delivery.
Key responsibilities
As Programme Manager you will:

Provide programme leadership for our Raise the Game (RTG) initiative. Oversee the end-to-end delivery, ensuring the programme meets its objectives and delivers measurable impact across the UK video games industry.

SUMMARY OF ROLE
Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications, the Senior Strategic Communications Manager is a pivotal new senior role within the team. You will lead the planning, coordination and strategic oversight of RABI’s national communications, campaign planning, media relations and content production, working with the Senior Digital Communications Manager to develop and deliver a bold new internal and external communications strategy for RABI.
With direct line-management of the PR & Marketing Manager and Events & Engagement Manager, this role combines strategic vision with operational leadership to ensure RABI’s marketing, communications, and presence at shows and corporate events is effective, aligned and impactful. You will work closely with the Head of Marketing and Communications to translate organisational priorities into successful campaigns and provide strategic guidance on messaging, brand positioning, external affairs and delivering impactful community engagement initiatives and events.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Marketing and Communications, Campaigns and Engagement
- Lead the development and implementation of a new integrated communications strategy that amplifies RABI’s brand and maximises reach and impact across multiple channels.

Chapter One is a dynamic, growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most. We work in twelve areas/regions of the UK and will support 3,800 children in 2025-26.
Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme pairs struggling five to seven-year old (P2-4) readers with reading support volunteers who are working professionals. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.
From a school perspective, online reading volunteers provide direct, meaningful literacy support for up to 10 pupils per class. The programme is particularly suitable for communities where it might be challenging to find parents and other volunteers who can commit to physically visiting schools to boost reading. Job Summary
Chapter One is seeking a Scotland Programme Manager who is an excellent communicator and is able both to motivate and support schools and teachers to implement our online reading volunteers programme, and also to ensure that the programme’s impact and benefit to disadvantaged communities is maximised throughout the academic year.
The post is ideal for someone looking for part-time, flexible, term-time only work from a home base and who is able to travel frequently in and around the Glasgow and Edinburgh areas. The postholder will be joining a team of established Programme Managers (also part-time) who work in different parts of the UK and will need to have some flexibility to work additional hours during busy autumn months, and conversely to work fewer hours during quieter periods of the year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively explain Chapter One’s online reading volunteer programme and its benefits to school leaders and teachers
- Install, setup and maintain Chapter One equipment in participating classrooms
- Fully understand the operation of the Chapter One platform and database and communicate this to others
- Organise and conduct initial teacher training and follow-up
- Ensure a smooth initial launch of Chapter One’s programme in every classroom
- Liaise with colleagues performing technical and volunteer support roles
- Through regular visits to/contact with schools, provide on-going embedded professional learning and support to teachers throughout the year as needed
- Proactively monitor classroom adherence/fidelity to the Chapter One model, including systematic review of data reports and volunteer feedback, taking proactive action to resolve problems that arise
- Analyse and manipulate data (largely in Google sheets) to produce reports and identify trends
- Create regular data summaries for all participating classrooms
- Lead annual review meetings for senior leadership at participating schools
- Support programme monitoring, evaluation and research as required
- Coordinate in person and virtual school ‘visits’ of volunteer teams to classrooms where necessary. This may include opportunities for Chapter One children to visit the office of the volunteers.
- Liaison with corporate partners as required
- Weekly communication and status updates with Senior Programme Manager(s) and wider team
- As a new school year approaches, secure commitments from returning schools and find and target new schools to join Chapter One’s programme
Role Requirements:
Essential
- Highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
- Proven track record of working at a senior level in education, project management or a related field
- Proven strength in both written and verbal communication
- Highly IT literate, with excellent computer skills, able to troubleshoot software and technical hardware issues, adept with Google suite and Microsoft Teams
- Ability to manipulate and analyse data to draw useful conclusions to improve programme delivery
- Proven ability to work independently
- Self-starter and quick learner
- Ability to adapt and embrace a changing environment
- University degree
- Ability to drive and access to a car for work purposes
Desirable
- Two years of teaching/education experience with primary age children

The Community Fundraising team is looking for a Direct Marketing Manager (maternity cover), who will support our work in developing, promoting, and analysing our portfolio of Community Fundraising products to attract new and diverse audiences to raise vital funds for nature.
The post holder will support the launch of our Do It Yourself (DIY) fundraising product, as well as supporting In Aid Of (IAO) fundraising activity across the UK. The role will support marketing requests across all new and existing Community Fundraising products and campaigns. The role requires a proficiency in data analytics and a track record in responding to trends and sector best practice.
You will have experience in direct marketing and be proficient in delivering multi-channel campaigns in a fast-paced environment. This role also requires an in depth knowledge of direct marketing techniques including testing, profiling, segmentation, return on investment analysis, cost per contact. You will have experience in managing multiple projects and budgets, as well as a track record in excellent stakeholder management. An understanding of Community Fundraising developments and best practice would be advantageous.
The ideal candidate will be driven, creative and possess excellent attention to detail.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Degree educated or equivalent experience in a direct marketing role
- Excellent understanding of the steps involved in planning and delivering multi-channel direct marketing campaigns
- Direct marketing sector developments, legal requirements and best practice
- In depth knowledge of direct marketing techniques - testing, profiling, segmentation, return on investment, cost per contact etc. to achieve the most effective campaign results
- Charity sector developments and best practice
- Excellent communication skills to elicit great team working to deliver campaigns
- Ability to inspire others
- Comfortable with analysis and metrics to constantly improve campaign performance
- Excellent attention to detail
- Interpreting data and trends, with the ability to analyse and report on results
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:
- Has worked in environment/conservation
- Has worked in not-for-profit/charity
Additional Information:
- This is a 12 month Fixed Term, Full-Time maternity cover role for 37.5 hours per week.
- The RSPB reserves the right to extend or make this role permanent without further advertising dependent on business needs at the end of the contract term.
