PROGRAMME DELIVERY

• Programme Delivery: Plan and deliver activities, opportunities and events for young people in line with programme objectives, processes and guidance.

• Programme Content: support and contribute to the development/review of programme content, resources and communications such as newsletters.

• Impact and evaluation: Support the collection of monitoring and evaluation data, facilitating evaluation activities within training sessions and events as required; contribute to ongoing processes of programme learning and review as a member of the delivery team.

• EDI: Work with the Programme Manager to ensure that Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion are embedded in the process of programme development and curriculum design, including learning styles and accessibility.

• Youth engagement and insight: Collect and process feedback from schools and young people

• Safeguarding: Uphold safeguarding and child protection policy and procedure throughout, including reporting safeguarding concerns and disclosures to DSL and uploading to MyConcern.

PROGRAMME ADMINISTRATION

• Stakeholder engagement: Manage day to day relationships with programme participants and external organisations/individuals supporting delivery, including managing the main anti-bullying inbox

• Finance: Ensure personal or participants' expenses are submitted on time and in line with expense policies and TDA financial procedures

This is role is a fixed-term contract to the end of 2024, and will be contractually based from our London office.

The successful candidate must have the right to work in the UK.

Part time (18.5 hours per week) permanent post

Based in Vauxhall, London or Reading with hybrid working arrangements in place to accommodate both office and home working

Flexible working arrangements available within Monday to Friday,10am to 5pm.  Occasional evening and weekend working may be required. 

Salary in the range £12,373 to £15,122 per annum (£24,745 to £30,243 full time equivalent)

£1,650 per annum (£3,299 full time equivalent) location allowance payable if London based

We are in the early stages of implementing our 10-year organisational strategy, ARUK: Towards a Cure. Sitting within the Chief Executive’s Office and reporting to the Project and Programme Manager, the Project Officer supports the scoping, planning, and delivery of strategic, cross-team projects and programmes. The post holder also supports the Project and Programme Manager in embedding project management best practice across the wider organisation.   

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Project Management

· Deliver key, strategic projects, as determined by the yearly Operational Planning process, working with project teams to develop flexible project plans that can adapt to change. 

· Manage project risks, decisions, and dependencies, liaise with third parties, and monitor project progress, ensuring stakeholders are updated at key checkpoints. 

· Lead project reviews to capture successes and learnings and ensure project outcomes are embedded into BAU. 

· Support the Project and Programme Manager and Head of Programme Management on other ongoing projects and programmes as and when required.

Promotion of project management best practice

· Maintain ownership of the Projects team intranet pages and project management resources, for use by colleagues across the organisation. 

· Provide tailored project management consultations to empower colleagues to deliver their own in-team projects. 

· Support the Project and Programme Manager on delivering the ARUK Project Management Masterclass.

What we are looking for:

· Experience managing projects, including allocating tasks and managing risks, decisions, and changes. 

· Sound knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile).

· Demonstrable ability to work with and influence a variety of different internal and external stakeholders at all levels. 

· Working knowledge of project management tools, such as Excel, Smartsheet, MS Projects or similar. 

· Excellent communication skills, with an ability to build relationships, trust, and inspire confidence and respect at all levels.

· Strong team player who can work both independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders of all levels.

· Excellent planning and organisational skills, and the ability to manage a varied workload and reprioritise work in accordance with the organisation’s needs.

Additional Information:

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals.  This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.

Administration Officer – England Central

We are recruiting an Administration Officer to provide an effective and comprehensive range of administrative support to workstreams/projects, which will enable the charity to fulfil its function across Central England to a high-quality standard.

What you will do:

Coordinate training bookings, using the diary system, email and databases to ensure training is organised, allocated and delivered.

Create resource pack for colleagues delivering training courses and workshops.

Help to facilitate training delivery nationally, responding to email and telephone enquiries, ensuring preparation, materials, resources, venues, for all events are in place when required.

Help to plan, contribute to and attend PAPYRUS conferences, workshops and events as required.

Collate evaluations and feedback from training and project work.

Act as a first point of contact, including enquiries which may be complex in nature; assessing the nature and urgency of the correspondence and responding or referring to colleagues as appropriate.

Record all enquiries and contacts using the CRM database and ensure that the database is maintained and accurate at all times.

Assist with managing the office diary, arranging and organising meetings/bookings as required.

Manage stock and resources ensuring that the required items are available.

Administer petty cash as required in line with financial processes.

Respond to orders and other requests for information, from stakeholders, by phone, mail and email, according to policy and keep accurate and up to date records.

Undertake general clerical and administrative tasks to support the service as required (e.g., posting items, photocopying, scanning).

To be successful in this role you will have:

Demonstrable experience in an office administrator role or equivalent

A good working knowledge of Microsoft packages (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and hands on IT experience of database packages including electronic filing systems and online platforms.

Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Ability to resolve issues and identify solutions, seeking support and guidance where required

Salary: £23,114 per annum (NALC Scale SCP 4) progressing by increments to £23,893 per annum (NALC Scale SCP 6)

THE ROLE
The Engagement and Communications Officer (ECO) is part of an exciting new ‘Building Capacity Project’ which seeks to develop the skills and capacity of communities on the west coast of Scotland to deliver the aims of the Alliance for Scotland’s Rainforest i.e. protect and restore Scotland’s globally important temperate rainforest. The Woodland Trust has secured funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) for this project's initial two-year ‘development’ phase.

The ECO will support the Project Development Manager, project team members and local staff working in three landscape-scale project ‘hubs’ (in Argyll, Morvern and Torridon). The role will provide opportunities for audiences to connect with Scotland’s rainforest and build the skills and capacity needed to sustainably restore it. This involves working with communities, organisations and specialists to a) raise awareness of Scotland’s rainforest, b) facilitate volunteering, on-the-job training and the sharing of learning about how to restore it, and c) inspire a long-term commitment to look after it.  

The ECO will plan and deliver communications and engagement activities during the project's development phase, and support the Project Development Manager to create a comprehensive activity plan for the delivery phase.  This includes surveying audiences to benchmark attitudes; managing a launch event; using existing (or establishing new) local and regional communication channels to reach audiences and share progress; co-developing with partners a series of meaningful engagement opportunities; supporting project ‘hubs’ to develop their own communications and engagement plans and monitoring the impact of project activities.

This is an 18-month fixed-term position. Should our funding bid for the subsequent five-year ‘delivery’ phase be successful, we hope the ECO will remain in post to support the delivery of these plans. 

THE CANDIDATE
You will have experience building relationships with a range of stakeholders including community organisations and are comfortable collaborating and engaging effectively for different outcomes e.g. learning, consultation or facilitation. 

You will be able to confidently organise and deliver a range of events from online webinars to community gatherings; have working knowledge of using social media for marketing, capturing interesting content and writing engaging stories, and you’ll be happy self-managing a diverse and varied workload. 

Plus you’ll have experience working as part of a project team, supporting funding bids, budgeting for, and reporting on the impact of your activity. Oh and have a genuine interest in Scotland’s rainforest of course!

A full UK driving licence is required so you can travel across the west coast when required. Access to your own vehicle would be ideal.

About First Give

First Give inspires young people to make a difference to the causes they care about. We do this through working in partnership with secondary schools, providing a fully resourced scheme of work that guides an entire year group of students to engage with local charities and causes and then carry out social action (fundraising, raising awareness, campaigning, volunteering etc) in support of them.

At the end of each programme, a celebratory School Final is held at each school, where groups representing each class deliver presentations about their projects. The class considered to have engaged the best with the programme secures a First Give grant of £1,000 for their chosen charity. By the end of the programme, however, the whole year group will have given back meaningfully to their local community.

We currently work in partnership with approximately 200 schools every year across England and Wales.

Programme Delivery Officer role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join our Programmes Team as a Programme Delivery Officer. PDOs will be responsible for supporting and coordinating the delivery of the First Give programme in up 50 schools, ensuring smooth running of the programme, plus providing guidance and troubleshooting for the lead teachers at First Give partner schools.

The role will be hybrid, with 3 days a week in our main offices in West Hampstead, London. Regular travel to schools across London and the South East will be required.

• Contract: Full time, permanent
• Salary: £28,000 (inclusive of London weighting)
• Location: London office 3 days per week, 2 days per week working from home
• Reporting to: Programme Manager

Key responsibilities

• Provide logistic and programme support to teachers delivering the First Give programme at their school, including but not limited to:
  • an introductory Programme Call with the Lead teacher;
  • delivering a briefing to class teachers;
  • troubleshooting via phone and email;
  • booking in First Give facilitated sessions
• Ensure all programmes are delivering all core elements of the First Give programme
• Update and monitor Salesforce to track programme delivery
• Liaise with freelance facilitators to ensure events at schools are effectively staffed
• Deliver Launch Assemblies, Workshops and First Give Finals in partner schools
• Collect data for monitoring (student surveys, teacher surveys, identifying potential stories of impact, writing programme reports)
• Ensure prompt delivery of any programme resources required by schools (including Coursebooks and other physical resources)
• Support in the collection and distribution of comms via social media, newsletters and other formats to raise awareness of First Give’s work
• Support with wider team projects as and when is necessary

Do you have a proven track record of engaging positively over time with donors throughout their journey alongside a charity? Are you a positive, skilled communicator with an eye for detail and an ability to get ‘stuck in’? If so, this role could be for you.

SUDEP Action is the only UK charity focused on preventing epilepsy-related deaths. We have the only epilepsy bereavement service freely available to anyone suddenly bereaved by epilepsy (including SUDEP). By representing the voices of those who have died and who are bereaved, we aim to learn from deaths, and use research, policy and campaigns to raise awareness and take action that helps save lives. 

Working both independently and with the wider team you will deliver a high-quality community fundraising service. We’re looking for someone who has worked in a fundraising department and/or similar role before, preferably in the charity sector. Engaging confidently with people and feeling comfortable in adapting your approach to different audiences is a key skill for this role - whether they are major donors, corporates or community fundraisers. This is particularly important as many of our supporters & fundraisers are bereaved.

Building positive supporter connections is at the heart of what we do at SUDEP Action, so setting a positive example of this through your plans and actions, and demonstrating the importance of maintaining strong, personalised supporter relationships is key. You’ll know how to follow processes to record, monitor and evaluate supporters’ engagement with community fundraising activities, so this feeds back into how the charity operates.

Much of the charity’s income comes from our motivated and passionate supporters, so this role is a key part of income generation. The successful candidate will be able to build on current processes and successes to grow our engagement across all fundraising activities, platforms and campaigns. Experience of bid/grant writing would be desirable.  

We’re looking for someone who is proactive and organised, and who works well with others, to ensure that funding applications and reports are inspiring, compelling, accurate, and delivered on time. 

You’ll have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, combined with a desire to develop the futures of young Londoners. You will relish the challenge of helping us to grow our income by building and supporting relationships with a wide range of Trusts and Foundations, some of whom have supported us for many years.  In addition to this, you will work under the leadership of our Fundraising Manager to offer support across other areas of fundraising work including corporate and events.

Duties and Key relationships Marketing and Communications

This is a new role in the Marketing and Communications department and is responsible for the media relations of the Charity.  

PR and Media Relations

• To develop relevant media contacts, as well as contacts in the sector, to maximise the reach and coverage of key communications campaigns as well as wider organisational projects.

• Produce creative copy written for a variety of audience groups which champions and shows best practice of our tone of voice

• Develop and support in house PR roll out

· Work with external PR agency on selected press releases where relevant

· Write press releases in line with campaign launches and key moments

· Develop pitches and news stories and other promotional copy.

· Lead on media briefings that convey appropriate key messages and prepare spokespeople

· Identify and interview case studies and media spokespeople

· Pull together monthly Data Analysis reports with the support of the Marketing and Communications Manager

· Send out weekly coverage reports with the Digital Marketing Officer, monitor external activity (including competitor) and incorporate best practice.

· Analyse reports to identify new opportunities and act up to grow presence in national press by identifying proactive and reactive media opportunities.

Communications

• Maintain the communications calendar

• Research, write and distribute media outreach activities such as press releases, media comments, media briefs, features, blogs and letters to editors

• Be the first point of contact for media enquiries and manage the press office function in a timely manner.

• Maintain library system for press cuttings, monitor cuttings and report on results

• Lead on gathering powerful stories that highlight the impact of childhood cancer on the lives of children, young people and families

• Work closely with the fundraising and digital teams to coordinate and respond to the different needs for case studies

• Maintain a detailed and GDPR compliant contact management system of all case studies

• Work closely with the Digital Team to ensure that all campaigns and content produced is reflected on the website and across social media accounts

Families

• Maintain relationships with current patient families who are sharing their cancer journey stories with the media.

• Produce stories of patient families and share online and social media

• Work with a diverse range of case studies and media spokespeople and ensure they are treated in an appropriate and safe manner.

• Be key spokesperson for families media storytelling

Other

• Contribute to the overall Marketing and Communications function of Children with Cancer UK

Main objectives of the role

• Securing funds from a variety of sources to support services offered to families to meet our strategic objectives and the long-term sustainability of the charity.
• Building and maintaining relationships with a range of individuals and organisations to support the fundraising activities, promote the mission of the charity and improve the visibility of, and understanding about, Potential Plus UK.
• Coordinating the membership messaging and leading the analysis of data to promote the support of the charity and its cause, and maximise potential income, through membership.

Main responsibilities for all employees

Main responsibilities for the Fundraising & Membership Officer

Fundraising

• Support the setting of the charity’s fundraising targets through the research and review of both external and internal fundraising activities.
• Maintain an up-to-date database of the charity’s fundraising activities and campaigns.
• Collate the agreed metrics (including income and expenditure) and report on a weekly basis.
• Participate fully in the generation of fundraising ideas and activity selection.
• Design, prepare and implement the agreed activities and campaigns, which are likely to be varied in nature and might include dedicated fundraising events, grant applications to support families in disadvantaged socio-economic groups, and legacy generation.
• Recommend changes and updates to the activities and campaigns based on testing and evidenced data.
• Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of fundraising activities and campaigns, including both income and impact.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with both new and existing individuals and organisations, such as member alumni and grant-making trusts and foundations.
• Lead on stewarding the support of donors, funders, ambassadors and influencers through regular communications and feedback on impact.
• Create and submit monitoring reports to funders that are both timely and of high quality.

Promoting the Charitable Aims of the Charity

• With marketing support as needed, create effective messaging to be shared externally and with existing members to engender a sense of belonging to the high learning potential community, together with an understanding of its rights and its potential positive impact on society, with the aim of creating a desire to support the charity now and on an ongoing basis.
• Work with the Community Information Coordinator to utilise all appropriate opportunities to convey these messages.

Membership

• Design and coordinate an effective system to enhance the membership offer and improve membership renewal and retention.
• Work with the administration and community teams to ensure that the journey from interested party to becoming a member and from member to retained member is compelling and framed coherently and that systems are in place to effectively implement this.
• Work with the Community Information Coordinator on campaigns and strategies to reach new members, engage with existing members and retain existing members.
• Have a thorough understanding of the membership database, collate information and monitor, evaluate and report on all aspects of membership performance.
• Design and coordinate regular market research, including competitor analysis, to identify member/stakeholder needs, to support the rationale for the development of new member/community products and services, and to liaise with and advise other teams in the organisation as appropriate.

As Supporter Engagement Officer you’ll play a key role in helping us to engage new and existing supporters as well as helping to deliver first-class stewardship to retain support and build trust. In addition you will develop appeals and communications that engage and inform supporters which help to raise more voluntary income.

Directly supporting the Direct Marketing and Legacy Manager and working closely with all of the Supporter Engagement team it would be beneficial if you have previous experience or an interest in Fundraising. Being a confident communicator with a “can-do” approach is essential as well as being able to demonstrate proven administrative skills, the ability to manage a varied workload and be highly organised.

We offer flexible working patterns, both in terms of hours and remote working. Please note that all employees are contractually required to work from the office a minimum of 4 days a month.

Some roles may be required to be in the office more often than others and this will be agreed with the hiring manager upon starting at Turn2us.
