Job overview

Remuneration: day rate £250-350 for 8 hours depending on experience, anticipated 4-5 days per month.

Reporting to: Chair of Trustees, on a day-to-day basis through the Head of Partnership Development who is based in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Contract: The initial contract is for 6 months with potential extension up to 2 years on meeting key fundraising targets.

Role description

The Fundraising/Partnership Development Officer will

· Manage the development and implementation of Friendship’s fundraising, partnership development, and partnership management activities in the UK

· Build a fundraising strategy that incorporates a range of activities and income streams, together with the Friendship International UK Board

· Develop a concrete action plan and core indicators or targets for fundraising in the UK on quarterly basis, which is to be presented to the Friendship International UK Board.

· Foster relationships with supporters, groups and organisations that fund or have the potential to fund Friendship International UK and be the first point of contact,

· Update the UK section of Friendship’s website with information related to fundraising and other information

· Manage social media platforms with information relating to fundraising activity

· Contribute to the work of the Friendship International UK Board, reporting to the Board and attending meetings as needed

· Maintain coordination with Friendship in Bangladesh for the development and finalization of documents, budgets, reports, etc. for submitting to existing and potential donors and partners.

Person specification

Essential

· Have good experience working with CSR funds, grant-making trusts, institutional funders based in the UK, and foundations and high net worth individuals.

· Demonstrate initiative and positive ROI in generating funds.

· Be able to follow up fundraising opportunities independently.

· Be able to follow up, finalize, and submit donor required narrative and financial reports, in close collaboration with the team in Bangladesh.

· Be friendly and personable and able to build strong working relationships with a range of people, including the team in Bangladesh.

· Be reliable, organised and efficient, capable of multi-tasking and reacting to changing priorities.

· Have good communication and writing skills.

· Be located within commuting distance of the City of London; willing and able to travel for occasional meetings and events.

The role of Retail Development Manager is crucial to the income growth and audience reach of The Children’s Trust retail function. The postholder will be responsible for researching, developing and establishing new income streams to reach new audiences and drive footfall for a disperse network of charity shops, including establishing the online selling of donated and bought in (New) goods; management of online and digital selling platforms and associated stakeholders, ensuring that all compliance requirements are fulfilled.

The role will work collaboratively as part of the Retail Management Team to develop and deliver long-term growth plans to drive voluntary income growth and increase footfall and to lead on new business initiatives.

Role Requirements

• Research opportunities to recommend, test and rollout new online and digital selling platforms. Introduce associated systems and processes to achieve compliance.
• Working with the Retail Sales Manager, identify and source donated product lines and items for listing and selling through online and digital selling platforms. Share learnings to source quality stock to drive sales.
• Create a new online offer to complement and integrate within our existing retail portfolio of shops across Surrey, Sussex and Kent. Develop processes to manage online and digital selling: inventory, listing, pick, pack and despatch of online stock, including organising the logistics for deliveries to customers and collections to meet both shops and customer requirements.
• Manage the development and optimisation of online and digital selling platforms and make recommendations for rapid growth and new business proposals.
• Work with the Retail Sales Manager and Marketing and Communications team to create assets and content that can be used in store, online, through owned channels to maximise opportunities, sales promotions and seasonal changes across the chain of shops.
• Research and implement efficiencies in reducing waste disposal costs for shops estate including items no longer purchased through Rag merchants.
• Research and recommend new income streams for the sale of unsold donated items to mitigate low return through Rag merchants.
• Manage full compliance of the Children’s Trust online and digital selling platforms in line with all Health & Safety legislation, Fire safety, Trading Standards, Retail Gift Aid, GDPR, ThankQ CRM, Risk Assessments, Safeguarding and all other legal or statutory requirements.
• Develop and manage risk assessments and associated online selling policy protocols to prevent reputational damage to The Children’s Trust through digital and online trading activities.
• Manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships including supplier contracts, internal support teams, ensuring that efficient and compliant services are maintained.
• Working with Marketing and Communications and Supporter Care colleagues to ensure that the retail supporter journey is optimised and relationships are managed holistically.r

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People – Senior Trusts and Foundations Manager
Location: Hearing Dogs Head Office, Saunderton near High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, with very flexible hybrid working.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, whose mission is to see a time when no deaf person feels alone, is seeking a Senior Trusts and Foundations Manager to develop and secure six and seven figure, multi-year grants from trusts, foundations and other institutional grant funders, e.g. the National Lottery.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has been creating life-changing partnerships between hearing dogs and deaf recipients since 1982. As well as acting as an ear to their partners and alerting them to sounds, the charity’s clever and expertly trained dogs help deaf people to live life with confidence and independence, whilst providing love, companionship and emotional support.

Following on from a strategic review, the charity is now building a new Income Generation Directorate, to enable them to transform many more lives across the UK. This role will be critical to help Hearing Dogs reach their goals to diversify income, grow their philanthropy programme and increase engagement and impact.

Reporting to the Head of Trusts and Foundations, this role will work as part of a small but high department to deliver objectives and income targets. The role will deputise for the Head of Trusts and Foundations as required and support in the development of the strategy for the department, working across the organisation with colleagues, senior staff, trustees and external trusts and foundation contacts. A key focus of the role will be making bids and writing applications to maximise financial support from charitable trusts and foundations in a team which has a target of £1.15m in 2025-26, growing to £2.1m by 2029-30.

The ideal candidates will have a substantial background in Trusts and Foundation fundraising within the charity sector and experience of delivering excellent stewardship with external stakeholders. You will have experience of large scale and complex (£ six/seven figure) bid writing for specific projects over multiple years. Excellent and persuasive writing skills and a sharp eye for details will be essential alongside strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills. You will be approachable, with a  ‘hands-on’ approach and a flexible ‘can do’ proactive attitude and, importantly, you will have a commitment to understand the needs of Deaf People and a commitment to our values and  culture.

Aston-Mansfield is a charity with a rich history of supporting children, young people, and families in East London since 1884. Based in Manor Park, the organisation focuses on four key areas: children and families, youth empowerment, mental health and well-being, and community development. 

Our work with young people includes training workshops, mentoring, youth-led heritage programmes, and other initiatives that help young people build confidence, develop decision-making skills, foster social inclusion, and improve well-being. This will be achieved by employing 16 Young Facilitators in key leadership roles as well as engaging 160 young people as Changemakers, providing training and development through learning days and Action Learning Sets using external free lancers. 

This programme will have an integrated and community-focused approach, alongside the development of Young Facilitators to lead the project. Breaking Boundaries Collective will build on Aston-Mansfield's existing work and create a safer, happier, and more connected Newham for young people and the wider community.

As the Youth Programmes Manager, you will lead Aston-Mansfield’s Young Adult Programmes for individuals aged 16–25 in Newham and surrounding boroughs. You will oversee the delivery of funded programmes, develop new initiatives, and ensure high-quality workshops, training, and mentoring. This role also involves managing teams, budgets, safeguarding responsibilities, and building partnerships to support the charity’s mission of empowering young people and creating stronger communities.

• Experience of maintaining systems and records in a governance or committee environment

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with excellent written English

• Familiarity with charity governance requirements and the UK Charity Governance Code

• Professionalism, discretion, and sound judgement in handling sensitive information

• Comfort working independently and remotely; able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision

• Company Secretary Experience desirable

• Experience with Google Workspace and basic formatting tools for paper packs preferred

Community Events Coordinator

The Volunteering & Events team at KCLSU are looking for a Community Events Coordinator. To ensure that our students thrive and enjoy the best possible experience at King's College London, the focus of this role is to connect students through a diverse range of events across the academic year. 

Partnering with over 300 KCLSU student groups, this role is one of two Community Events Coordinators who deliver: 

• The KCLSU Community events programme; overseeing the successful delivery of Welcome & Social Connection Events (Freshers), Liberation Events and Faith & Culture Events. 
• The KCLSU Reach events programme, which offers bespoke activities for students identified as harder-to-reach, such as postgraduates, online learners, or those who study at our Denmark Hill campus. 
• KCLSU flagship events, such as the Welcome Fair and KCLSU Awards.

The organisation has been supporting dogs and the community for 133 years, employs eighty dedicated staff, and delivers vital services that improve the lives of dogs and humans alike. You’ll play a key role in guiding the charity’s financial strategy to ensure long-term sustainability.

Duties & Responsibilities

Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring effective management of budgets, forecasting, payroll, and statutory reporting.

Oversee financial governance and controls, ensuring compliance with charity and company legislation.

Provide strategic financial advice to the Executive Team and Trustees to support decision-making and risk management.

Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.

Oversee financial planning for bids, tenders, and funding applications, ensuring robust cost modelling and reporting.

What experience?

Ideally a fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or) with proven experience in a finance role.

Experience managing finance within the charity, not-for-profit, or SME sector.

Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
