Sleep in shift paid at £100.80 per shift
Weekends paid 25% premium on hourly rate
The Role;
- Provide a caring, safe, secure and accepting environment that meets the physical, health, social needs and rights of the young people. This will include supporting less experienced staff via positive and effective team working to achieve high quality standards of care that are set and agreed by the Registered Manager on behalf of the Trust. This work will aim to respect and promote the needs of each young person arising from their racial, cultural and religious background.
- Assist with the assessments of need and formulation of plans. This involves working in partnership with other agencies and taking into account the wishes and feelings of the young people, their parents and other persons with parental responsibility, in line with legislation pertaining to the young people.
- Maximise educational opportunities and achievements for the young people looked after within the unit by assisting in identifying, establishing and supporting educational provision and contributing to educational reviews.
- Develop and maintain a good level of awareness of child protection issues, assessing and recording risk. This will include referring child protection issues to the Registered Manager and incorporating consistent boundary setting into everyday practice in order to ensure effectiveness in the prevention and appropriate management of challenging behaviour.
- Maintain accurate and up to date records of the work undertaken with the young people and complete written reports for planning meetings and statutory reviews as necessary. This will be in consultation with the line manager and be undertaken to a standard commensurate with the professional aims of the service.
- Undertake a range of domestic duties, including cooking and some cleaning, to a good standard, to ensure compliance with health and safety policies and the guidelines for young people and staff.
- Take responsibility for the promotion of safeguarding and the welfare of children and young persons for who they are responsible for.
About you;
- Good standard of written and oral English
- QCF(NVQ level 3) in health and social care (CCYP) or equivalent or willingness to achieve award within timescales set by trust
- Working in a residential setting, undertaking the full range of duties in a well planned way that respects and values the young people as individuals.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to write reports
- Working with young people and an understanding of the issues affecting them.

What the role involves
1. Ensuring that there are regular training opportunities for both new starters and those requiring refresher sessions or updates when new functions or forms are released. This will include running system training drop in sessions to assist with queries / hear feedback, and relaying information from these to the Information Governance and IT manager.
2. To support managing the case recording system help desk – so that support is always ava
ilable to front line workers and other stakeholders.
3. Working with the Learning and Development Coordinator to establish an evaluation method and implement this to enable us to assess the effectiveness of each training session and using this to improve future delivery.
4. Produce effective training materials and guidance documents, and develop and maintain a training area on our case recording system, including the creation of dummy forms and files for new users to access and use as a training sandbox
5. Performing case recording system changes to forms and lists as directed by the Information Governance and IT Lead
6. Support the Data Reporting and System Support Lead with regards to user administration and user support at times of absence and increased need
7. Working with the Learning and Development Coordinator to support the creation of e-learning training modules for our LMS (currently RISE) Acting at all times in line with safeguarding legislation and guidance in addition to Safer London’s practice guidelines and wider pan-London processes and protocols.
8. Undertaking any other duties as required and commensurate with the level of this post, including covering the Data Reporting and CRS support lead post functions when relevant.

You will play a vital role within an innovative, community-based mental health service jointly commissioned by the London Borough of Harrow and NW London NHS, in partnership with Anna Freud. You will deliver brief, evidence-based interventions - primarily CBT, trauma-informed, and Mentalization approaches - to children and families experiencing mild to moderate mental health challenges. Working across schools, homes, and community venues, you will conduct psychological assessments, offer individual and group therapy, and collaborate with professionals to support complex cases. You will also provide consultation, training, and supervision to school staff and Wellbeing Practitioners, ensuring a trauma-informed and neurodiversity-aware approach.
What you’ll bring
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled mental health professional with a strong foundation in therapeutic interventions and a commitment to supporting children, young people, and families within a community-based setting. Essential qualification, experience and skills:
- Proven experience delivering evidence-based psychological interventions such as CBT, including a recognised qualification in a core profession of Clinical/Counselling Psychology, Family Therapy or other recognised background in child and adolescent mental health.
- Strong assessment and formulation skills, with the ability to manage complex cases and tailor support to individual needs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, particularly when working across schools, families, and multi-agency teams.
- Experience providing consultation, supervision, or training to professionals, ideally within educational or mental health settings.
- Cultural competence and a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-aware approach to working with diverse communities and safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
Key details
Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week): usual working hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00. Flexible working is possible, subject to discussion and operational needs.
Salary: £46,800 per annum FTE, plus 6% contributory pension scheme.
Location: Hybrid working (a mixture of onsite and home/remote working). 60-80% in-person working to deliver intervention therapy sessions across Harrow Community sites (Cedars Children’s Centre, 127 Whittlesea Road, Harrow HA3 6ND) and occasionally at Anna Freud, 4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH).

About this key role
the project aims to make a positive contribution to the Council’s wider aims by helping to minimise and manage the risks posed by young people engaging in activities related to drugs, alcohol, child sexual exploitation, criminal behavior, gangs, and radicalisation, and to keep young people from coming into care by supporting them to live safely with their families.
As a proactive member of the multi-disciplinary team, our successful candidate will share best practice with other team members in relation to approaches and strategies to support and engage young people and their families to achieve best outcomes, plus work collaboratively to develop plans of support and promote programmes of social education, activities, support, advice, and information, using a range of multi-sensory methods.

Maintaining accurate records of support and interventions is also a key duty.

Our social work team helps to resolve cases involving child protection, children in care, and vulnerable adults when the case crosses international borders. CFAB social workers offer advice and guidance to individuals and local authorities and help to link social work services between the UK and another country. CFAB social workers engage in direct work with beneficiaries through kinship assessments and risk assessments.
The main purpose of the role is: to manage a caseload of complex cases originating in the UK or overseas which involve child protection issues; to support, advise and quality assure the work of social workers in other countries; to deliver training to professionals on issues related to international social work, and: when needed, to complete kinship assessments of family members who have come forward to care for a child in care.
Note: Whilst there are some opportunities to complete direct work with service users, such opportunities are limited as the focus of the role involves supporting social workers abroad and delivering training to UK Local Authorities.
Main duties, tasks and key results
1. To hold a caseload of allocated cases originating in the UK or overseas
- Quality assuring complex kinship and parenting assessments completed by social workers abroad for court proceedings in the UK.
- Managing complex cases requiring liaison with local authorities or individuals in the UK, and the relevant authorities overseas to resolve the case;
- Assessing cases referred to CFAB, identifying the intervention required and the resources/agency to undertake it
- Preparing information for referral abroad or to an agency in the UK;
- Establishing, developing and maintaining relationships with clients and/or agencies in the UK and overseas to ensure the progression of cases to resolution;
- Ensuring that all cases are dealt with in a manner consistent with CFAB guidelines and Social Work England’s’ professional standards;
- Undertaking the required administrative tasks.
2. To participate in running the Advice Line service and responding to enquiries made to CFAB
- Offering advice to local authorities, NGOs and individuals
- Advising on referral procedure and fees
- Sending follow-up documents to enquirers
- Liaising with overseas partners for advice and to establish if services are available
3. To provide training to local authority professionals
- Deliver training sessions, jointly and single-handedly, to UK authorities on issues relating to international child protection, e.g. child trafficking and private fostering
- Present on CFAB’s behalf to conferences on international child protection, as required.
4. To undertake social work assessments
- Undertake kinship assessments of individuals in the UK who have applied to care for a child within their family who is in care in another country;
5. To support the development of the Social Work Team and wider CFAB team through:
- Participation in social work and CFAB team meetings
- Regular supervision meetings with line manager
- Representing CFAB to external partners
- Contributing to special projects as required
6. To be adaptable and willing to take on new roles and responsibilities as the services of CFAB develop in response to the changing needs
7. To maintain up to date knowledge of legislation and policies affecting the work of CFAB to ensure a high quality consultancy service to service users.
8. To present, represent and promote the organisation to a range of audiences and settings, including promotional events.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 experienced Crisis Outreach Workers to support Mind in Enfield and Barnet's Family Hubs Service.This role is to support individuals during the perinatal period (expecting and up to 2 years after birth) presenting at the Family Hubs experiencing mental health crisis and problems gain immediate support
The purpose of the Outreach Worker is to work with adults during the perinatal period (pre birth up to 2 years after birth), including both parents and carers. You will work as part of MiEB perinatal family hub team to identify those at risk of crisis and ensure referral pathways are in place to facilitate rapid engagement
The successful candidates should have a minimum 2 years experience of working with people with mild, moderate and severe mental health issues. Experience of utilising de-escalation techniques, and supporting clients presenting in emotional distress

About The Role
This role will be part of our partnership with a leading bank which aims to build financial resilience and break the cycles that lead to financial exclusion and poor financial health negatively impacting people’s housing situations. You will deliver high quality housing advice and advocacy in line with the Birmingham hub’s local community priorities: supporting families experiencing homelessness, improving conditions in the Private Rented Sector and reducing barriers for those experiencing multiple disadvantages.
This will involve working alongside people who are experiencing homelessness and bad housing to identify issues facing local communities. You will plan and deliver casework to individuals and communities to resolve their housing situation, networking and engaging with community groups, local organisations and individuals to understand local housing issues and raise awareness of housing rights.

About You
You will have the ability to listen to, engage and work with individuals and communities and with all stakeholders, including running group workshops and presentations. You have experience, knowledge of and/or proven ability in housing and homelessness advice and advocacy, with the ability to progress to specialist level knowledge. You will be able to carry out casework related interviews, maintaining detailed case records and offering advice and support to clients so they can make informed decisions as well as deliver group workshops and presentations.
