- Three- week SEAL education booster program including a four-day residential stay at Honeypot, to help young carers who struggle to progress in school due to poor confidence and self- belief that they can learn, to find the confidence that they can succeed in education.
- Wellbeing grants, for essential items no child should lack, such as a clean bed, or new school clothes.
- Face to face outreach including memory making days out at the beach, countryside, or fun park for young carers who never get this experience.
- Pastoral Care promoting the welfare of children and ensuring their needs are being met.
- Healthy Eating and Nutrition, for children who receive free school meals during term time but resort to sugary drinks and snacks during school holidays. Honeypot helps children to perfect a healthy signature dish and provides funds for the ingredients.
- Urgent Pastoral Care, for young carers and their families, who are struggling to cope.
As Operations Director you will be an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team with the responsibility of developing and embedding the new 3-year plan and the Charity’s values, ensuring service delivery supports the overall business strategy and plans of Honeypot, whilst meeting budget guidelines.

Director of Operations
The Director of Operations is a core role within WFD’s global staffing structure and a key member of our Leadership Team.
Building on significant progress before and after the pandemic, this role is intended to continue efforts to strengthen WFD’s organisational capabilities and prepare for future challenges.
The Director provides overall leadership and line management to the Operations and People Service Directorate which encompasses IT and systems, facilities, safety and security, operational support to the network, business development and people teams and co-leads the Outstanding Organisation Board with the Finance Director.
Reporting into the CEO they will also act as Company Secretary, providing support and advice to the Westminster Foundation for Democracy’s (WFD) Board, and coordinate institutional engagement with WFD’s FCDO sponsor team.

Purpose of role
The Operations Lead will provide a vital function to the Global Commons Alliance team, leading core team operations. The Operations Lead will work closely with the Executive Director to ensure the Global Commons Alliance Team operates efficiently and effectively.
This is a full-time position at the heart of a dynamic and active organization, focusing on nature and climate action around the world.
Primary responsibilities
The job holder will have the following key responsibilities:
1. Core team operations
- Maintain a management information system of electronic files for the Core Team in coordination with RPA.
- Format reports and presentations as needed and assigned by Core Team members.
- Support event coordination by managing partner contact database, drafting and managing invitations & RSVPs, as well as follow-up material in support of Core Team members.
- Support scheduling for larger internal & external meetings, online and in-person.
- Contribute to planning, design and execution of GCA workshops with component teams.
- Make and manage travel arrangements for the Executive Director and Core Team members for meetings and conferences.
- Administration of expenses for Core Team members via RPA’s online systems.

2. Recruitment and personnel
- Develop and continually update the overview of GCA Core Team staffing, roles and responsibilities.
- Manage the recruitment process of new Core Team staff.
- Manage the drafting and negotiation of contracts and fees of Core Team staff together with GCA Executive Director, Finance Lead and RPA.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of recruitment and onboarding policies and practices for the Core Team.
3. Governance Support to GCA Executive Director
- Support the Steering Committee Chair and Executive Director in the timely preparation of agenda, materials, minutes and planning for all Steering Committee meetings.
- Keep up-to-date Steering Committee member bios, contact information, and relevant distribution lists.
- Support Executive Director to prepare for, and coordinate meetings of the Coordination Team and Core Team.
- Agenda management and scheduling for Executive Director.
- Support the Executive Director with administration of expenses via RPA.
Profile
The ideal candidate will be active in the environment-development space and a highly motivated, structured and constructive individual who enjoys organisational challenges and is able to work as a key player in a small, global team to support operations across multi-dimensional programmes.
Experience and qualifications
- Minimum BA/BSc level degree.
- At least 2 years’ work experience providing administrative or operational assistance in a larger, international organisation.
- Familiarity in dealing with scientific organisations.
- Experience with executive level support.
- Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Web-based tools and demonstrated capability to learn new software.
- Qualifications within- and some knowledge of climate, environment or development sector preferred.

The Climate Emergency Collaboration Group (CECG) is a regranting collaboration made up of some of the world's largest climate philanthropic funders. With a mission to drive climate action, CECG uses their convening and philanthropic power to facilitate stronger collaboration, coordination, and campaigning from the global climate movement around the UN climate talks and other international summits. CECG is fiscally sponsored by Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors (RPA), a 501(c)(3), as a Sponsored Project within its charitable-giving fund.
Purpose of role
As CECG grows with the need for climate action, we are seeking a brand-new Finance Manager to join the developing team. This is a full-time position for a qualified financial professional to establish, organise and run the financial processing, analysis and reporting function of the organisation. As part of this role, the incumbent will manage all aspects of CECG’s revenue streams, grant streams, annual budgeting process, forecasting and cash flow. A seasoned analyst who has experience in streamlining processes, implementing systems and building strong internal controls, they should plan to work in close collaboration with the Director of Operations, Executive Director, Programme Directors, and CECG’s fiscal sponsor Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors (RPA).
The financial manager should lead and evolve the financial and accounting function as a strategic and responsive team member, ensuring that CECG has effective systems, GAAP compliant policies, procedures and processes to fully support its core operating model. Timely and accurate financial reports should support organisational decision making, comply with donor reporting, internal and external standards and the regulatory environment.
Primary responsibilities
Financial reporting:
● Interpret and review financial information and analyse monthly financial data.
● Support/prepare financial reports to external funders in accordance with grant agreement deadlines.
● Develop and distribute management reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis with variance analysis.
● Prepare cash flow reports, burn-rate analysis, financial trends and projections.
Budgeting and forecasting:
● Support the development of budgets for funding requests and funding applications.
● Lead the annual budgeting process with development, review and amendments to forecasts for 3-year strategic plans.
● Monitor revenue and expenses for all income streams on a monthly basis and develop updated forecasts.
● Analyse expenditure trends and suggest cost effective ways to reduce or maintain spending.
Financial management:
● Conduct monthly reconciliation of all accounts and ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies.
● Review invoices and expense reports and general ledger reports and identify any misallocations.
● Manage compliance with funder’s terms and conditions, deliverables, monitor spending, request amendments, and plan spend-out.
● Monitor and support the fiscal sponsor, to ensure that grant and vendor records are maintained with required and appropriate documentation, payments are processed on time, and necessary approvals are in place.
● Support grant making with assistance in budget development and monitoring and ensuring compliance with funding awards and agreements.
● Ensure grant compliance by reviewing the grant agreements, accounting practice and proper coding of revenues and expenses to grants.
● Assist with the preparation of schedules, analysis and other documentation for RPA and grant specific audits.
Financial systems, policies and procedures:
● Develop, review and update CECG’s financial policies aligned to fiscal sponsor.
● Research and explore suitability of new financial software systems that improve accuracy of financial data and enhance analytics.
● Introduce and implement new financial systems that streamline processes and automate reporting.
● Develop and implement strict internal controls.
● Develop, review and update financial and grant making procedures in accordance with donor regulations and RPA policy.
● Keep knowledge levels updated on regulatory, statutory and tax environment as well as financial system improvements and trends.
● Develop and implement strategies that work to minimise financial risk.
Relationship management:
● Build effective working relationships internally and externally.

Profile

About Lightyear Foundation
Lightyear Foundation is a small but mighty national charity committed to breaking barriers to disabled children participating in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths). Disabled children face multiple disadvantages in education, careers and life skills and are all too often excluded from STEM. We exist to ensure that no disabled child is denied the opportunity to love and learn from these subjects or to go on to contribute to society in these fields.
We work directly with disabled children in special schools, inclusion pods and community groups, designing and delivering immersive sensory science experiences, deep learning labs and work inspiration visits to exciting STEM venues. We also work directly with STEM organisations through our SEN in STEM Network, a unique national network bringing the sector together to break down barriers to inclusion by sharing best practice and practical solutions, and through training and special projects which help STEM organisations improve access to their materials, venues, processes and activities for disabled children.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lightyear Foundation is a small but fast-growing charity. We are now at a pivotal point in our growth and have ambitions to increase our reach and to diversify our income, enabling us to play an even more significant role in dismantling barriers to inclusion. We have been awarded a grant to secure our core team roles for three years, which has enabled us to sustainably appoint a small team for the first time. We are looking for an experienced small charity CEO to lead this new freelance team, building on the excellent work of their predecessor and the many exciting opportunities ahead of us.
Leadership
- Be the face and voice of the charity – our principal ambassador.
- Lead, support, engage and motivate all staff: we are a small team of part-time freelancers across the new core team and the wider specialist delivery team, so creating a sense of community and collaboration is fundamental to our success.
- Seek out, develop and maintain effective working relationships with all relevant organisations and individuals to promote the work of the charity and facilitate the implementation of its strategic objectives.
- Leverage networks with other charity leaders to share and gain best practices to achieve our mission.

Strategy
- Liaise with the Board in relation to the development of the charity’s strategic vision and be responsible for leading its implementation.

Operational Management
- Be responsible for the implementation of all the charity’s operational plans.
- Take executive responsibility for all functions including programmes, administration, finance, fundraising, marketing, communications and IT.
- Ensure that Lightyear Foundation’s programmes, contracts and projects are delivered to the highest standard with due regard for timescales, targets and budgets.
- Take overall responsibility for the recruitment, management and effective deployment of freelance staff, applying robust HR processes covering recruitment, performance management, appraisal and remuneration.
Finance
- Lead and direct the financial planning, forecasting, control, reporting and management of the organisation's finances and resources, to include support for, and engagement of, Trustees and sub-groups to ensure regulatory compliance and sustainable organisational growth.
- Take executive responsibility for the financial leadership of the charity, including forecasting and strategic budget leadership.
- Ensure that the charity’s financial resources are managed effectively and that Lightyear Foundation remains in good financial health, identifying risks and taking appropriate action.
- Liaise with the Board to develop and lead on the implementation of the charity’s financial plans, including setting budgets, formulating income generation strategies and overseeing all fundraising activities.
- Maintain effective financial management and control systems; ensure delivery within budgets and to performance targets and oversee production of management accounts, statutory accounts, impact reports and annual reports.
Fundraising
- Create, own and deliver Lightyear Foundation’s income generation strategy.
- Diversify income away from a reliance on grants to include greater individual, community and corporate support.
- Manage our key relationships with funders, including providing timely reports and updates.
- Proactively identify new funding opportunities, creating and submitting applications or proposals as needed.
Governance and Compliance
- Liaise with the Board to ensure that the charity’s overall governance structure, policies and procedures are appropriate and effective, taking remedial measures and implementing changes as necessary.
- Attend all Board meetings (held four times a year, usually on a Monday early evening) and prepare a written report in advance of each meeting detailing matters of interest and concern regarding the charity’s activities during the previous period.
- Ensure that the Board is made aware in a timely fashion of any matters requiring its attention.
- Develop and maintain effective operational policies and processes in all the charity’s functions. Review and update scope and content to meet legal, regulatory and best practice needs.
- Ensure that the charity complies with best practice in all areas of operation, including filing annual accounts with the Charity Commission and Companies House on time.
Health and Safety
- Oversee the safeguarding of the children with whom the charity works through rigorous DBS procedures and staff/volunteer training.
- Ensure that collection and protection of personal information complies with current Data Protection regulations.
- Ensure that all of the charity’s activities are conducted safely and that Health and Safety policies are understood and followed by everyone.

As we strive to tackle the ecological and climate emergency and further environmental justice, we are seeking to appoint two Board members to join the Friends of the Earth Board.
About the role
Joining the Friends of the Earth Board is a great opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to action on the climate and ecological crisis.
The Board is responsible for the governance of Friends of the Earth Limited, which has jurisdiction over Friends of the Earth’s campaigning and activism in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Sharing responsibility with other Board members and under the direction of the Chair, this role will contribute to our campaigning and organisational strategy and guide the organisation in making a long-term impact.
We pride ourselves on a positive, collegiate working culture and on constructively providing support and challenge to our Senior Leadership Team.
In 2023 we were awarded Conservation and Environment Board of the Year at the Board Awards for our impact on diversity and inclusion within environmental conservation. We aim to build on this achievement including through the current recruitment.
Main responsibilities
This governance role involves the following key areas:
· Supporting and guiding the mission and values of Friends of the Earth
· Providing strategic direction for our campaigns, community activism and the organisation
· Oversight of our people, fundraising, business planning, budgeting, financial management and compliance
· Fulfilling legal responsibilities as a director under company law
· Assessing risks and overseeing mitigating actions
· Safeguarding
· Supporting and constructively challenging our Senior Leadership Team
Key skills and attributes
All candidates should demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of Friends of the Earth and their ability to fulfil the responsibilities outlined above.
Owing to the recent departure of two board members who reached their term limits, we are specifically looking for candidates matching the following criteria:
· Significant governance experience in a non-executive role (with legal background a bonus);
· Candidates from Wales, or with a strong knowledge and understanding of climate and environmental issues in Wales, to ensure representation on our Board of all our constituent nations.
Additional desirable experience includes some or all of the following:
· Financial experience, in particular oversight/management and risk
· Experience of fundraising or income generation
· Campaigning and activism experience
· Knowledge and understanding of the climate and ecological emergency and environmental justice
· Community/network organising experience and/or membership of a Friends of the Earth local group
· Communications experience, including media, social media, and marketing
· Lived experience of the impacts of the climate and ecological crisis
Please note we will also be running recruitment for a youth member to join our board in the coming months.
Time commitment
In addition to four quarterly Board meetings per year, there is an additional Board meeting held during the annual away days. Meetings usually take place during the working day on a Thursday with at least one held outside of London and the option to join remotely (where required). The annual away days are usually two days outside London, together with the Senior Leadership Team and other senior members of staff.
In addition to attending meetings, you will need to make time to:
· read papers prior to each Board meeting and prepare comments and feedback
· liaise with the Chair, other Board members and staff between meetings
· lead discussions on particular issues from time to time, including becoming involved in particular projects depending on your specialist skills
· attend Fiends of the Earth supporter events and support fundraising initiatives as relevant
We estimate that the total time commitment is approximately 1.5 days per month, although this is not evenly distributed across the year and will be greater for Board Members taking on an officer role (e.g., Vice Chair, Chair of Finance Committee). We acknowledge this is a significant time commitment and are committed to providing flexibility and support to candidates who require this to meet the demands of the role.
Board members are encouraged to join or participate in the activities of their Local Action Group in order to maintain connections with our grassroots movement. Board members are also ambassadors for Friends of the Earth and are invited to our events. Being a member of the Friends of the Earth Board is a highly rewarding experience and you will play a vitally important and challenging role across the governance of the organisation.

Community and Events Fundrasising Officer
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a can-do attitude to help us deliver our exciting Community and Events Fundraising programme. No previous fundraising experience is required, just an organised individual with a knack for building relationships, a passion for exceptional ‘customer service’ and a drive for uniting communities and raising money for charitable causes.
You’ll work within the charity’s passionate Fundraising and Engagement Team to raise funds to support children and families affected by the childhood cancer neuroblastoma and our vision, for a future where no child dies of neuroblastoma or suffers due to the treatment they receive.
