The Fundraising Systems & Data Analysis (FSDA) team of the Development and Outreach Department of Human Rights Watch (HRW) is seeking applicants for the position of Senior Manager, Analytics and Insight. The Senior Analytics and Insight Manager will be responsible for instilling a data-driven and data-informed culture to make evidence-based decisions, increase efficiencies, improve overall departmental return on investment (ROI), grow new fundraising streams, and achieve long-term profitability.

The Senior Analytics and Insight Manager will generate, improve, and analyze fundraising data, both quantitative and qualitative, from internal and external sources to produce strategic information that supports data-driven and informed decisions, tactics, and strategies that consistently maximize HRW fundraising results. This role will feed into both the quarterly reforecasts and annual budget data and supporting methodology and collaborating with the Finance team as needed for the Development department.

This full-time position will ideally be based in either the United States or Europe, preferably in one of the cities where HRW has an office and will report to the Managing Director of Fundraising Systems and Data Analysis based in London. The Senior Analytics and Insight Manager will manage at least one direct report.

The successful candidate may have the option to work remotely but is expected to work from the office 1-2 times a week. We aim to be as flexible and supportive as possible in both the recruitment for and onboarding of this position.

Responsibilities:

Product Management Oversight: 

1. Provide strategic, tactical, and operational planning of all Business Intelligence (BI_ Systems and tools utilized by the Development Department;

2. Implement and build the BI structure of the Development Department, working closely with CRM (Salesforce) team and working with vendors as needed to understand the desired outcomes;

3. Partner with the Training & Support team to promote user adoption of BI reports by developing and implementing communication plans, training campaigns, and incentives to encourage staff engagement and utilization;

4. Ensure effective coordination and change management with Training & Support, CRM and Digital products, IT, and fundraising teams;

5. Act as the subject matter expert for all areas of fundraising reporting and respond to escalated queries and reporting discrepancies from Data Analysis Officer;

6. Develop project management processes to support the prioritization of all analysis, data selection, integration, and reporting requests, ensuring the briefing processes are understood and developing a Service Level Agreement (SLA) framework as needed; and

7. Support on Data Integrations and Application Interface Programs (APIs), including any Extract Transform and Load (ETL) processes as needed, working with the Data Quality and Integrations Officer to develop these to meet “fit-for-purpose” requirement. Support both the CRM and Digital Product Managers as needed.

Data, Analysis and Reporting:

1. Support the development and implementation of the long-term data and insight strategy for HRW which improves data quality, deepens the department’s institutional memory, and aligns with the broader HRW data strategy;

2. Develop and present actionable insights, strategic recommendations, and business intelligence from analytical output to support strategic decisions for the Development team and on investments and benchmarking activities;

3. Deliver the data and insight strategy including activity reporting, financial forecasting, specialist report development, and ad hoc analysis projects and data selections, to increase understanding of activity, supporter and financial trends and making recommendations to leadership to deliver improvements;

4. Collaborate with the Marketing Team to create data selections including recommendations on which are the best targets for direct marketing campaigns, create segments according to strategically determined criteria, data model, and develop testing plans to yield statistically significant results;

5. Work with the Fundraising Systems and Data Analysis Managing Director to build tools and reports that allow for both the forecast and budget revenue projections to be provided with ease. Create multi-year fundraising projections per main channel and audience using historical data, statistical modelling techniques, and new initiatives;

6. Collaborate with the Finance team around both the production and validation of financial reporting, including budgeting, reforecasting, and income reporting in general for the Development D Ensure that the Marketing coding / attribution processes are clearly documented and any exceptions tracked with the Revenue Operations teams;

7. Ensure that the expenditure budget for the Development Department is managed and reported on effectively, capturing the planned spending across the different teams within the department, including reporting on the actuals and investigating any variances with finance and the budget holders as needed; and

8. Ensure that the Leadership Gift data reporting can occur, through development of advanced visualizations including dashboards and ensure that hygiene initiatives are followed by supporting both the Data Quality and Integrations Officer and Relationship Manage Work with Finance on the monthly reconciliation processes.

Leadership, Training, & Support:

1. Lead improvement projects that shape the department’s effectiveness, efficiency and data-driven decision making;

2. Serve as subject matter expert to both the CRM and Digital Product Managers as they proactively assess users’ evolving system needs, priorities, capacity, and workflows, and ensure reporting needs are well articulated to inform future technology enhancements; and

3. Teach and mentor Data Analyst and Data Integrations staff to grow their capabilities within the fundraising CRM, data, and operations field.

Managerial Responsibilities: 

1. Provide leadership, motivation, and mentorship to the Data Analysis, Quality and Integrations team, setting clear expectations, performance objectives, and providing regular and constructive feedback;

Qualifications:

Education: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience working in fundraising data analysis or business data analysis is required. Knowledge and experience in nonprofit fundraising and marketing, preferably in a global INGO context with country-specific fundraising operations, is highly desirable.

Related Skills and Knowledge: 

1. Fluency in fundraising practices, terminology, technologies, channels, and compliance, and the ability to translate easily between fundraising end users and technology providers is required.

2. A critical thinker with the confidence to transform data and information into structured systems and reports is required.

3. Record of generating buy-in from, and exceeding expectations of, internal and external stakeholders is required.

4. Hands-on experience with data analysis, quality, cleansing, extracting, and validation (ETL) processes and tools is required.

5. Fluency in SQL or similar database query language is required. Experience with unstructured data is a plus.

6. Knowledge of both using and configuring Application Program Interfaces (APIs) to perform data integrations between multiple systems is required.

7. Strong understanding of Business Intelligence platforms, report and dashboard construction and data modelling and segmentation within the fundraising data context (Power BI or Tableau is Desirable) is required.

8. Hands on experience with working with INGO CRM systems is required. Salesforce experience is desirable.

9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, and the ability to present complex issues in a clear, concise and persuasive manner to business and technical professionals, and to staff for whom English is not their first language is required.

10. Ability to work collaboratively and build trust with diverse stakeholders globally, including staff for whom English is not their first language, is required.

11. Strong understanding of nonprofit fundraising processes, strategies, and best practices is required.

12. Experience in vendor management is desirable.

13. Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills is required.

14. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and teams is required.

About the role

We’re looking for an Advice Service Manager to lead on the day to day management of our Advice Service and grow and develop our Advisors.

The Students’ Union Advice Service supports a student population of 50000 with case numbers averaging over 3000 per year. We’re here to empower students to exercise their rights and options if they encounter problems during their time at university. We offer one-to-one advice on academic issues, housing, money and student finance issues and student life.

We’re currently going through a service transformation, and we want to lay the foundations for a thriving and sustainable Advice Service, able to meet growing demand and complexity of cases. We’re embedding a new staffing structure, and we’re looking for an Advice Service Manager who can support our staff to transition into the more senior roles available. You’ll lead on staff training and development so that we achieve our transformation plan.

As well as management, you’ll be taking on your own cases. Role:                 Fundraising Database Manager

Location:            The Haberdashers' Schools, Elstree, Hertfordshire but with hybrid work

This is an exciting time for Haberdashers’ Girls’ School and Haberdashers’ Boys’ School. While they remain largely autonomous institutions with their own cultures and traditions, they are undertaking ambitious joint fundraising and alumni relations activities for the first time in their histories. This effort is led by a small but dynamic development & alumni relations team working across both schools.

Overview

The Fundraising Database Manager plays a key role within the team, with overall responsibility for the administration and oversight of the Raiser's Edge donor/alumni database, gift processing and alumni networking platforms across both schools. Responsibilities include maintaining the integrity of the data and ensuring it is up to date, optimising the database for fundraising appeals, generating reports and queries, providing professional support and training to users, processing all gifts and claiming Gift Aid. The database manager is also responsible for ensuring the department complies with all relevant data protection regulations

You are a motivated and highly organised self-starter, with a knack for methodical problem-solving, enthusiasm for the potential of data to drive effective fundraising and alumni relations, and a meticulous attention to detail. Beyond optimising and managing the database, you will also take the lead in implementing new financial and operational procedures which will make our fundraising and alumni relations work more efficient and effective, and which will be easy for less tech-minded team members to adopt and sustain.

You are comfortable extracting, interrogating and reporting on data to help inform strategy, always looking for ways to use and improve your skills and experience to make an impact. You will have a sophisticated understanding of how to export, import and (where warranted) merge multiple datasets. Finally, you never forget that behind the data are real people, and that ensuring the integrity, accuracy and protection of their data is vitally important, both for them and for the schools.

About the position

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional with a strong belief in the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion in helping to build high performing teams within the international anti-slavery sector. You will be leading a small HR team and will be responsible for developing and delivering an effective HR strategy across the global organisation. You will be based in the Freedom Fund’s central London office and be working to support staff across the UK, the US, Brazil, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Kenya, Nepal, Liberia, Nigeria, Myanmar and Indonesia – and other countries as and when our programmatic footprint grows further.  The Freedom Fund currently has 47 staff based in the London office and 36 staff in our other global locations. Outside of the UK, our biggest teams are based in the US (11), Ethiopia (8) and Brazil (6).

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver an HR strategy in collaboration with SLT that supports the organisation to deliver on its overall strategy as well as its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion vision and action plan.

• Monitor staff engagement and retention (including through an annual staff survey) and work with managers to continuously improve the Freedom Fund as a place to work.

• Provide HR analytics and recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team and Board.

• Provide high quality and timely HR advice and support to managers and staff globally.

• Keep up to date with employment legislation and best practice in the countries where Freedom Fund operates

• Work with the Managing Director of Finance and Administration and the Employer of Record in relevant jurisdictions to ensure legal compliance in all HR activities globally.

• Facilitate periodic benchmarking reviews of global remuneration and benefits, in line with the organisation’s pay policy.

• Manage the Employment Pathways Program alongside an external organisation to provide internships for those with lived experience of human trafficking and/or forced labour

• Manage the relationship and act as day-to-day point of contact for our Employers of Record globally and external payroll services in the UK, including ensuring that payroll changes are communicated and invoices are reviewed and submitted for payment in accordance with agreed timetables

• Ensure appropriate induction and learning and development programs and in place and embedded throughout the organisation

• Line manage the Operations Officer

• Oversee global recruitment, ensuring fair, safe and compliant recruitment practices that particularly encourages and supports applicants with lived experience of human trafficking and/or forced labour.

We are looking for the right person to lead the evolution of CALP’s fundraising. The role combines strategic leadership, internal and external coordination, and lots of hands-on development of funding applications, reports and much more. It's a pivotal role, helping to ensure the financial sustainability of CALP.

The role holder will manage and cultivate strong relationships with donors and members of the network, including the funding teams in our host organisations through whom funding flows. They will lead in identifying new funding opportunities and sustaining effective relationships with existing donors. This includes the development of consistently high-quality proposals and reports, whilst also ensuring compliance with contractual requirements. The role involves work across the whole CALP team, serving as an expert for CALP on strategic fundraising and donor relations.

Working as part of a globally dispersed team, this position is UK based and open to applicants with existing right to work in the UK. The role can be home based anywhere in the UK or work from an office in Oxford.

The Role:

The Donor Relations Manager leads and develops CALP’s fundraising strategy and activities to enable CALP to finance its overall strategy. The role holder manages and cultivates healthy relationships with donors and network members, and shares compliance responsibilities depending on contractual requirements. This role has strong inter-relations within realms of strategy, programmes, operations, planning and monitoring, and serves as an expert for the CALP team on strategic fundraising and donor relations.

We are excited to be advertising the role of Psychotherapy Service Manager at Respond, to lead our team and the development of our psychotherapy services with autistic people and people with learning disabilities who have experienced trauma and their families.  Many of our clients may have experienced complex or multiple traumatic experiences including sexual violence, domestic abuse and neglect.

The Psychotherapy Service provides predominantly longer-term therapeutic support of a year or more, depending on how the work is funded, to an average of 130 unique individuals per year.  The current team of 10 are made up of 4 senior therapists (reporting to the postholder), 4 therapists and 2 honoraries in training, the majority of whom are Arts therapists and work within a psychodynamic and/or systemic model.

We welcome applications from experienced Psychodynamic Counsellor/Psychotherapists, Arts therapists, Psychologists or Family Therapists who are passionate about our work. You will work psychodynamically, champion our trauma informed approach including our reflective practice model and have the opportunity to influence and shape the development of the psychotherapy service.  Leading the small team, you will provide clinical leadership and be Safeguarding lead, ensuring we continue to provide high quality psychotherapy services.  We are offering the role at 4-5 days per week, working in a hybrid manner flexibly. You can also hold your own small case load of clients, supervisees and/or consultancy work within the role.

This is a unique and specialist role and we recognise that you may have more experience in one clinical area or client group than another, given the breadth of our work and whilst you may be experienced in working psychodynamically as a therapist and as a line manager, you may be newer to leading a service for example. Or you may have a great deal of other experience and understanding of the needs of our clients from other work.  We are flexible to develop the right candidate who is passionate about improving the lives of autistic people, people with learning disabilities and their family members.

• Ensure an effective and friendly reception service, including for in person visitors, email and telephone enquiries. 

• Ensure the smooth running of the office so that all services are operating optimally (IT, broadband, telephone, other utilities) and that supplies like stationery are kept replenished. 

• Providing management team support – for example, managing diaries, booking travel, booking key event and minute staff meetings

• Provide sickness and annual leave cover for our Money Advice Service Support Officers 

• Ensure parcels and mail received, are handled in an efficient and timely manner. 

• Ensure the office is kept tidy, organised and welcoming 

Financial Administration 

Provide support to the Finance Lead: 

• Complete general finance admin tasks in an effective and timely manner including, downloading, collating, and filing electronic and paper invoices and bank statements 

• Ensure regular reconciliations of petty cash and donations ensuring cash is counted in an accurate and timely way 

• Set up bank payments for authorisation ensuring accuracy 

HR Administration 

Provide support to the management team: 

• Lead the administrative induction/leaver process for all staff including liaising with IT provider, pension provider, staff benefit providers, and line managers 

• Support the recruitment process for new staff including advertisement of jobs, collating applicant details, issuing interview invitations, and compiling recruitment packs. 

• Ensuring staff training is up to date including booking courses, updating records, and filing certificates

• Support the recruitment of volunteers including checking references, sending welcome emails, and allocating training 

• Ensuring policies and procedures are issues promptly and updated on various systems 

• Ensuring staff timesheets, annual leave, and sick days are processed in accordance with EFP’s policies and procedures
