Finance Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Finance Assistant with strong bookkeeping skills to join the central finance team of a growing international charity working at the intersection of cultural heritage and community development.

About the Role

Working as part of the charity’s central finance team, the Finance Assistant will help ensure the integrity of financial records and play a key role in maintaining accurate and timely bookkeeping for the UK.

You will be responsible for recording and reconciling transactions, processing invoices and payments, maintaining ledgers, and assisting with audit schedules. This is a highly detail-oriented role, requiring excellent accuracy, organisation, and the ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Recording USD and GBP bank, MoneyCorp, and PayPal entries in QuickBooks
• Monthly reconciliation of all UK bank, MoneyCorp, and PayPal accounts
• Reviewing and processing supplier invoices and expense claims, including setting up payments
• Setting up multi-currency payments for international offices and maintaining creditors ledgers
• Maintaining UK debtors and creditors ledgers
• Recording and reconciling corporate credit card transactions
• Reconciling specified balance sheet accounts monthly
• Assisting with audit schedules and financial reporting

About You

The ideal candidate will be methodical, accurate, and proactive, with significant bookkeeping experience and strong QuickBooks skills. You will be comfortable working remotely, with excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to manage your workload effectively.

• Significant bookkeeping experience with excellent understanding of double entry
• Strong experience using QuickBooks
• Understanding of multi-currency accounting

• Working closely with the Head of Blended Finance and the wider Programme team you will act as an integral support function for colleagues but also build good relationships with our external partners, supporting their engagement with Access.
• This is a key role that offers experience across a variety of different disciplines, with significant potential for personal learning and growth.

What you will deliver (responsibilities)

Programme Support:

• Present analysis and insights based on performance data and any contact with delivery partners to inform decisions within the team about ongoing relationships.
• Support the writing of papers for the Investment Committee and other committees including the Access Board, to present clear information to support understanding and decision-making.
• Help to organise, manage and minute internal and external meetings and events, including peer learning workshops.
• Assist with keeping Programmes pages of the Access website up to date.
• Supporting the development and maintenance of a bank of practical resources for use by our partners
• Other programme support duties as required.

Finance:

• Ensure robust financial management of Access’s programmes, including monitoring deployment targets of social investors and supporting the process for drawing funds from Access.

Relationship management:

•  Become one of the day-to-day points of contact for a portfolio of organisations who are delivering or supporting Access’s programmes, or in the process of applying to do so. These may include social investors, grant partners or other stakeholders.
• Build strong productive and supportive working relationships with delivery partners, in a spirit of collaboration and learning.
• Maintain comprehensive and clear records of the status of the relationship and any key questions or issues which are currently being addressed.

Data and learning:

• Support the acquisition and collation of regular performance data submissions
• Support the analysis and reporting on performance within each delivery partner and across the portfolio.

Other tasks:

• Leading on or supporting the delivery of internal and external events
• Contributing to learning and programme design discussions

About the role:

In this senior research professional role, you will be instrumental in executing strategic objectives, specifically through the delivery of a comprehensive research strategy that aligns with our charitable objects and goals. You will work closely with the Director of Communications to support content creation initiatives with research and evidence.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior research professional who is looking to apply their expertise in a strategic leadership role while enjoying both the flexibility of hybrid working and flexible part-time hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering the research strategy ensuring alignment with our charitable goals.
• Developing, conducting and managing research projects, content creation and storytelling.
• Implement and report on LFBF’s newly developed impact measurement framework.
• Communicate research findings by presenting at conferences, workshops and seminar.
• Communicate with stakeholders and maintain partnerships

You will have:

• Worked in a senior Research role, preferably at Director level.
• Proven experience in developing, delivering or overseeing research projects, including sourcing funding and sponsorship
• Deep understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research methods, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation
• Ideally in-depth knowledge of the charity’s focus area, financial capability, to guide relevant and impactful research although we are open to different research specialisms with applicability/ relevance to financial capability.
• Experience in content creation, storytelling, and managing multi-channel content delivery, such as podcasts.
• Project management skills to oversee research plans, and expertise in identifying and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
