We are working with One Small Thing who are looking for an experienced Finance Manager with demonstrable skills within finance, the not-for-profit sector and housing to join their Hope Street team.

With offices in London and Southampton, One Small Thing is striving for positive change across the justice system by implementing small things in a big way.  They provide gender responsive, trauma-informed programmes within the prison and community sectors that consider the individual caught in a cycle of crime and incarceration, with the aim of humanising their experiences.

One Small Thing has a commitment to systemic change for women and their children in the justice system, which has inspired them to build Hope Street, a brand-new, purpose-built residential community-based service, designed in collaboration with women, for justice-involved women and their children in Southampton, offering them access to education, practical and therapeutic support in safe, respectful trusting environment.

Responsible for ensuring financial controls, processes and systems are updated and effectively implemented, the Finance Manager will create accurate, regular reporting ensuring adequate financial forecasting, as well as ensuring that the organisation remains financially compliant, and they will be instrumental within the organisation in supporting scale and growth at Hope Street.

This is an exciting time for the charity and an excellent opportunity for a skilled Finance Manager who:

· Holds an acounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA) part or fully qualified or qualified by experience.

· Has strong budgeting/forecasting and at least two years financial & systems management experience, with experience of producing management accounts, budget planning and financial monitoring processes.

· Has experience of working in or with the not-for-profit sector and housing sector.

· Can demonstrate exceptional budgeting skills with experience of managing complex funding sources.

· Has highly developed interpersonal & team-working skills with a positive, flexible & can-do attitude, strong leadership & communication skills, with the ability to develop policies/procedures and convey complex financial control concepts to non-finance colleagues in both verbal and written format.

· Is resourceful, practical with an approach to problem-solving, with the ability to plan, prioritise and maintain efficiency during periods of pressure and high volume of work

You will have advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Sage Payroll software and of the benefits system, tax credits and universal credits.

Previous experience of the following would be an advantage, but is not essential as training can be provided:

· Knowledge of Charity accounts & SORP

· Knowledge of the Charity VAT landscape

· Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

The role:

The purpose of this role is to ensure effective, efficient and accurate day-to-day financial management and financial controls for the Fidelity UK and international Foundations, including leading on management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning and delivering the annual reports and accounts for all four Foundations. The post holder will prepare all finance papers for Board and Finance and Investment Subcommittee meetings and will support the oversight of the Foundations’ investment portfolios. This role will also be responsible for managing all payments made by the Foundations, in addition to ensuring risk and compliance guidelines are adhered to at all times.

The person

The successful applicant will have a detailed knowledge of accounting principles, ideally with experience of the charitable sector, and a strong track record of day-to-day financial management in a comparable role. You will have strong analytical skills and be able to demonstrate both operational and strategic thinking. You will have a proficiency in accounting (with a relevant finance qualification) and will be able to evidence the successful production of annual accounts and monthly reporting, ensuring monitoring against budgets. Additionally, you will have strong analytical and reporting skills, exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication and presentation skills, and hands-on experience of explaining complex financial information clearly and concisely. Finally, you will have a high degree of humility and a collaborative style and will be able to pro-actively manage a diverse workload on your own initiative.

Reporting to the Project Finance Manager, this role will run efficient programme financial accounting, financial management and financial reporting processes for donor funded programmes and grants. This role will support the full life cycle of grants, from donor proposal to final reporting and will work closely with Finance and Programme teams as well as in-country staff, partner agencies and external Donors.

• Financial planning, and financial management for grant funded programmes

This project is funded by the Nature Networks Programme. The Heritage Fund is delivering it on behalf of the Welsh Government. 

Do you want to be part of a team leading the field in the development of private investment into nature’s recovery? 

In the past 18 months, The Trusts have been developing new approaches to funding nature’s recovery from the private sector, utilising novel revenue approaches such as nutrient neutrality credits and the voluntary carbon market amongst others. They have developed finance mechanisms to sit alongside these revenue streams such as a philanthropic loan system. They now want to scale up this work to help The Trusts and others to scale nature’s recovery across Wales. They need to turn policy into strong principles that allows us to develop guidelines and templates to help the Trusts across Wales access green finance. 

Our client need dedicated expertise and capacity to work with the Trusts to bring this work into a coherent strategy, develop models and plans that build revenues for nature’s recovery allowing much greater investment. This post is designed to provide that expertise and capacity to work alongside those Trust staff that are already committed to developing these programmes.

London's Air Ambulance treats patients who experience critical injury in the capital and support them and their families on a road to recovery. This is only possible through close collaboration between  London's Air Ambulance Charity, the London Ambulance Service (LAS), Barts Health NHS Trust (Barts), London's Major Trauma Centres and the wider Major Trauma Networks, to deliver groundbreaking care and save lives.

To deliver this service the Charity is split across two locations, with offices in Mansell St and in the Royal London Hospital. 
The Charity has grown significantly in size and complexity over the last few years and we are now seeking a Finance Business Partner to support the Deputy Director of Finance to provide the charity's Financial Performance and Analysis function.

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance this post supports the provision of high quality financial reporting to assist budget holders, managers, directors and trustees. Acting as a finance business partner you will provide financial insights, analysis, and guidance to support decision-making and drive the financial performance of the charity.

Key areas of responsibilities;

• Stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including finance and non-finance colleagues, to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Financial reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the charity, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Own the full life cycle of reports from build to delivery.
• Budgeting and forecasting: Assist the Head of Financial Performance & Analysis in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, collaborating with department heads to gather necessary information and oversee the consolidation and review of departmental budgets into a cohesive organisational budget.
• Financial analysis: Monitor actual performance against projections and conduct analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities.
• Systems accounting: Maintain and improve the charity's accounting systems and processes, ensuring data integrity and implementing new features or upgrades as required.
• CRM management: Work closely with the Head of Financial Accounting and Head of Data to ensure financial reporting requirements are adequately considered when managing the CRM.
• Advanced data analysis: Utilise tools such as PowerBl, Power Query, and advanced Excel functions to build reports, conduct in-depth financial analysis and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.

Who are we looking for?

• A formally qualified or part qualified Accountant 
• Relevant experience in a finance business partnering, financial planning, budgeting and analysis.
• An excellent communicator who is able to influence at all levels within the organisation
• Ability to work on own initiative, assess priorities and be proactive.
