The Sociological Review Foundation is seeking its first Development Manager to join its team. This role, reporting directly to the Operations Director, presents a unique opportunity to drive the organisation’s strategic growth initiatives and fundraising calls, expand partnerships, and generate revenue through the sale of services.

We are Zarach, the children’s bed charity, and we’re on a mission to end child bed poverty, giving children the opportunity to engage at school and break the cycle of poverty. 

In our nearly seven years as a registered charity, we’ve captured the hearts and attention of many individuals, community groups, businesses and funders who want to support us on our mission. We’ve also been given an incredible media platform from which we have raised awareness of child bed poverty at local, regional and national levels. This support and awareness has seen us deliver over 12,000 bed bundles to children to date.

Our cause and story have captured the nation’s attention, and we have been provided with an incredible national platform that has seen us appear on local and national TV, on the radio, and in the national press. This has included appearances on BBC Breakfast, ITV News, Channel 4 News, Radio 5 Live, BBC Look North, and The Independent newspaper supported our Christmas 2023 appeal, culminating in Zarach being the front-page story on Christmas Day. 

In our short history, we have received continual funding support from a range of charitable trusts & foundations, businesses, and individuals, providing a great overall income and resources mix. 

With an estimated 4.5 million children in the UK living in poverty – including 1 million experiencing destitution and around 900,000 living in bed poverty – we have an aspiration to reach more children, in more areas of high need across the country. 

We are now looking to appoint, for the first time, a dedicated Fundraising Events Manager to work within our small and dynamic Fundraising & Supporter Engagement team. You will help us unlock the financial and awareness-raising potential that a programme of events can deliver as we seek to lift more children out of bed poverty across more parts of the country.

As our ideal candidate, you will need to be within commuting distance to our Leeds warehouse, meaning you can travel regularly to meet with the team. 

You will be someone who has proven experience in fundraising event management and/or the delivery of successful corporate events, from concept to execution. 

Alongside your fundraising-related skills and experience, we’ll be looking to see that you have a genuine care for our mission and, as such, are self-motivated to do a great job and be a values-led member of our team.

Ideally, you’ll have experience of working within a charity or not-for-profit organisation, due to some of the specialities that come with this. To ensure the limited capacity of our directors is best utilised we’re looking for an operations manager to join are team to support smooth running of the project and development of its vision. 

The School for Synodality Operations Manager will be central to the operational and administrative functions of the School for Synodality, including overseeing the work of the Administrator and Communications Specialist and supporting projects and partnerships with diocese, local church communities and other stakeholders across the Church. The role requires someone who understands the Catholic Church and is committed to fostering collaboration for the vision of the School for Synodality. 

The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working in a remote, flexible context and working alongside part time staff and volunteers with limited capacity.

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with experience in data management and Raiser's Edge to support the Advancement department.

In this role, you will manage and improve the Raiser's Edge database, ensuring data accuracy, supporting fundraising and membership initiatives, and overseeing the Database team. You will be essential in managing donation tracking, membership processes, gift aid claims, and financial reporting while also contributing to the ongoing development of data systems to support future growth and potential changes in platform or infrastructure.

The Planning and Operations team within the Advancement department is looking for a motivated individual with experience in data management and Raiser's Edge. • Providing training and support to staff across the Museum, ensuring proficiency in using Raiser's Edge for both fundraising and membership tasks.
• Analysing data and identifying areas of improvement, innovation, and cleaning priorities.
• Supporting data and systems development work to ensure readiness for potential future changes in platform or infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

The Individual Giving Manager will contribute towards Ex Cathedra’s ongoing sustainability and success by maximising philanthropic income:

Strategy and research

• build, maintain and continually seek to expand a pipeline of prospects capable of making gifts at a high 4-, 5- and 6-figure level, making sure that all progress is tracked, monitored and reviewed on a routine basis

• explore our existing data to identify major gift prospects, working in line with data protection law and fundraising regulations

Individual giving

• work closely with the General Manager and Individual Giving Officer to further develop and implement strategies that will increase major gifts and legacy donations to Ex Cathedra, dovetailing with the Trusts and Foundations consultant where appropriate

• arrange and conduct face-to-face meetings with prospects and donors to help build and progress meaningful relationships through regular dialogue

• use their judgement to involve the artistic director, trustees and colleagues where most beneficial/advantageous

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Strategic Property and Asset Manager to lead the Council's property function. This role encompasses strategic planning, development, and management of the Council's non-housing property portfolios (operational, leisure & heritage, community and commercial assets). This will include ensuring the optimal use and management of the Council's estate, maximising financial and social returns while aligning with corporate and political priorities.

There will be a particular focus on the Council's strategic asset management plan and the role also has oversight of the Council’s commercial landlord function. The role is key to the effective delivery of professional advisory, valuation, and transactional services across the Council’s portfolios.

This is an exciting senior role which belongs to the job family of ‘Service Manager’ as such the role holder will be a member of the Council’s Wider Leadership Team (WLT).

About you

It is essential that you are a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. They expect that you will bring a proven record of accomplishment from within the property sector. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of operating as a service manager in a complex organisation, with a strong understanding of property and asset management principles, ideally in a local government setting. Knowledge and understanding of property valuations is essential.

You will possess excellent people skills allied with the proven ability to listen, explain, negotiate and influence. You will be an enthusiastic, skilled subject matter expert with excellent presentation and report writing skills.

You’ll need analytical and communication skills, political acumen, and the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels. The ability to effectively operate in a political environment with substantial practical and procedural knowledge of public sector practice is key.

The Council’s property function is small team with a large remit, the post holder must therefore be willing and able to get stuck in and deliver their own broad case load of transactions. At the same time, as the most senior surveyor at the Council, the post holder must be comfortable operating at a strategic level, setting the direction for the wider team as well as being an experienced and competent manager of other managers.

A forward-thinker with a strong customer focus, you’ll drive forward digital improvements while fostering innovation and performance improvement. Above all, you’ll embody the Council’s values and behaviours and deliver the best outcomes for our residents.

You will be required to attend evening meetings and evening and weekend working as needed from time to time. There is a requirement for you to also be available as part of the Council’s emergency planning arrangements, which requires you to be a first aider and fire warden, and you must have the ability to travel around the Borough.

This is an exciting time for us and Age UK Lambeth. We have just been awarded a contract to deliver Preventative Services in Lambeth for five years with a possibility for an extension for two years. As well as holding a contract with them for delivery of the Adult Social Care Front Door service.

We are looking for a Finance Manager with experience in contract negotiation to join our  Senior Management Team (SMT) for two days a week.  We have a track record in successful grant applications and are looking to generate income from the delivery of services.

We want to find someone who can use their financial and analytical skills to support our SMT in growing our Charity to support residents in Lambeth. The postholder will be supported by our Finance Officer in delivering our finance operations.
