Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to shape and grow our philanthropy programme, developing lasting relationships with supporters whose generosity makes our work possible. From inspiring fundraising appeals and supporter journeys to legacy giving and in memory donations, you'll play a key role in securing sustainable income that protects wildlife and wild places for future generations.

Whether you're cultivating donors, crafting compelling appeals, stewarding legacy pledgers or analysing supporter data, you'll be helping people connect with a cause they care deeply about.

If you're an experienced fundraiser who understands the power of great relationships and outstanding supporter care, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

As our Philanthropy Manager, you'll lead and develop income from:

  • Individual giving

  • Mid-value donors

  • Fundraising appeals

  • Legacy giving

  • In memory donations

Working closely with colleagues across fundraising, membership, marketing and communications, you'll develop engaging supporter journeys that increase loyalty, deepen engagement and grow income.

This is a strategic and hands-on role with plenty of scope for innovation, creativity and impact.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Growing income from individual supporters through exceptional stewardship and relationship management.

  • Developing and managing a pipeline of mid-value donors and prospects.

  • Delivering inspiring fundraising appeals across digital and traditional channels.

  • Developing and growing our legacy and in memory giving programmes.

  • Working with marketing colleagues to create compelling campaigns and supporter communications.

  • Using supporter insight and CRM data to improve fundraising performance.

  • Managing budgets, forecasts and income targets.

  • Championing a supporter-focused culture across the organisation.

We're Looking For Someone Who

  • Has experience of individual giving, philanthropy, membership fundraising or donor development.

  • Loves building relationships and communicating with supporters.

  • Has a track record of growing income and achieving fundraising targets.

  • Understands how to create effective supporter journeys and stewardship programmes.

  • Is comfortable using CRM systems and fundraising data to inform decisions.

  • Can balance strategic thinking with practical delivery.

  • Is organised, proactive and motivated by achieving great results.

  • Shares our passion for nature and wildlife conservation.

We value passion, respect, trust, integrity, pragmatic activism and strength in diversity. Whilst we are passionate in promoting our aims, we are not judgemental and are inclusive. We particularly encourage applications from people who are underrepresented within our sector, including people from minority backgrounds and people with disabilities. We are committed to creating a movement that recognises and truly values individual differences and identities.

We take our Safeguarding responsibilities extremely seriously. Please click here to read our commitment statement. This role may be subject to a DBS check.
