Job purpose:
To provide experienced and effective strategic leadership, and operational delivery, of the fundraising and marketing initiatives of The Mix and its trading subsidiary, 127 Trading Ltd, to generate a diverse and sustainable stream of income to enable The Mix to deliver its charitable activities in the years ahead.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic fundraising and marketing professional to develop and execute an ambitious commercial strategy to enable us to provide even greater support to young people in Suffolk.
Background
The Mix Stowmarket Ltd. is an established youth charity working with young people aged 9–25 across Mid Suffolk. With a committed team, a flagship youth centre, and a trading arm, 127 Trading Ltd, operating two cafés, we’re rooted in community impact and innovation.
We exist to inspire, empower, and support young people to build resilience, thrive, and unlock their full potential. Working from our centre in Stowmarket and a second base in Needham Market, we deliver a diverse range of programmes including youth mentoring, alternative education, school-based support, and open-access youth sessions. Alongside our charitable work, we operate a social enterprise trading arm, 127 Trading Ltd, which runs two cafés that provide training and employment opportunities for young people, whilst generating vital income for our work. With a committed team of staff and volunteers and a passion for partnership, The Mix is a trusted and innovative force for positive youth development in Suffolk.
We have recently appointed our new Chief Executive Officer who takes up post in October 2025. We now seek a strategic and operationally savvy Head of Fundraising and Marketing to support the senior team as they lead The Mix into its next chapter, with prime responsibility to generate a diverse and sustainable stream of income to enable The Mix to deliver its charitable activities in the years ahead.
Overview of the role
As the organisation’s Head of Fundraising and Marketing, you will be an experienced, ambitious, enthusiastic, and dynamic professional, who is passionate about fundraising and maximising income generation.
Working closely with our new CEO and committed trustees and staff, you will develop and implement fundraising and marketing strategies that align to our vision and drive the expansion of our crucial support to young people in Suffolk.
You will have a thorough understanding of planning, organising, and delivering successful fundraising campaigns, initiatives, and events with a strong attention-to-detail. You will be comfortable working at a leadership and strategic level but also unafraid to roll up your sleeves and create bids, funding proposals, and marketing materials.
You will be a natural ambassador, working with the CEO to build partnerships at the local and regional level, and your ambassadorial skills will help raise our profile and leverage our networks and connections.
The Head of Fundraising and Marketing is responsible for the day-to-day marketing and management oversight of The Mix and 127 Trading Ltd and the management of its marketing staff and budgets.

Main Responsibilities
1. Strategic leadership
· Develop and lead the multi-channel fundraising and marketing strategy to meet agreed income targets and support
long-term sustainability for both The Mix and 127 Trading Ltd.
· Work closely with the CEO and Trustees, to align fundraising efforts with the strategic goals of the charity and bring insight into income generation and stakeholder engagement.
· Actively contribute to the senior leadership team, shaping organisational policies and strategic direction, ensuring the integration of fundraising, marketing and operational activities.
2. Fundraising and income generation
· Drive the development of diverse income streams, including major donor fundraising, corporate partnerships, individual giving, legacies, lotteries, community fundraising and events.
· Proactively seek new opportunities to secure long-term, multi-year funding through well-targeted funding applications and corporate proposals.
· Build strong partner relationships with a focus on stewardship, retention, and growth.
· Monitor performance, analyse data, and drive continuous improvement.
· Chair the Fundraising sub-committee and contribute to the Data, Impact and Evidence Action Group
· Responsible for completion of all bids, grants and funding applications and ensuring that funders receive appropriate ongoing feedback.
3. Marketing and communications
· Develop marketing materials and campaigns that effectively communicate the charity’s mission, vision and achievements to various audiences for both The Mix and 127 Trading Ltd.
· Lead the management of digital platforms, ensuring consistent and inspiring content across all channels, including the website, social media, email and printed materials.
· Ensure that brand messaging is consistent, clear and aligned across The Mix and 127 Trading Ltd to enhance public recognition and reputation.
· Grow awareness of the charity at a local and regional level, monitoring success through market research.
· Develop compelling narratives and stories of the charity’s impact to engage partners and encourage continued support.
4. Team leadership and development
· Lead and develop the Fundraising & Marketing team, fostering a collaborative and positive culture.
· Mentor and support team members in achieving their professional development goals, ensuring they attain business objectives.
· Regularly monitor and review team performance to meet income generation and communication objectives.
5. Operational excellence
· Ensure compliance with data protection laws, fundraising regulations and ethical guidelines across all fundraising and marketing activities.
· Review and improve the use of the website and develop systems to track donor engagement, monitor income and ensure data integrity and transparency.
· Work closely with finance and operations teams to oversee the management and monitoring of fundraising targets.
·Work closely with the Youth Work team to provide insight to funding opportunities available and marketing and fundraising activities occurring.

Support JRSST-CT and the UK Democracy Fund to achieve their aims of tackling political inequality and expanding democratic participation through developing and managing a portfolio of grants, and communication of our work to key stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and manage the grant portfolio for the UK Democracy Fund and JRSST-CT, in support of the strategy.
- Lead development of JRSST-CT’s written communications, including website, newsletter copy, reporting to Board and funders, copy for fundraising, and case studies.
- Keep up to date with developments relevant to the Trust’s work and maintain and improve personal competence through continuous professional development.
- To work flexibly alongside other members of the team and take on reasonable tasks as appropriate over and above those set out above.
- Apply Trust policies as determined by charity, electoral and other legal requirements as well as good grant-making practice.
- To act as a focal point for dissemination of information and respond to enquiries about the Trust’s work.
- Represent, and be an effective ambassador for, the Trust externally.
- To develop and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders, including civil society organisations, academics, statutory bodies and civil servants.
Person specification:
- A demonstrable ability to turn strategy into a work plan and deliver it.
- Ability to design, develop, implement and manage a grant giving programme (which may or may not be demonstrated through grant management experience).
- Good project management skills, ability to manage multiple streams of activity simultaneously.
- Demonstrable understanding of how change is made through campaigns and policy influencing.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively to internal and external audiences.
- Desk research skills and the ability to spot gaps in own knowledge and bring in the appropriate support or advice.
- Understanding barriers to participation or experience working with people often excluded from democracy, including young people, minoritised and racialised communities, migrants, disabled people and people on low income.
- A robust analytical approach combined with an instinct for a good campaign and when to take a risk on a new initiative.
- Ability to provide clear advice and support, while effectively managing and evaluating grantee performance.
- A track record of developing and maintaining relationships with a range of stakeholders, working flexibly and collaboratively with team members, Trustees, grantees and partners.
- Experience of organising meetings, seminars and public events.
- Ability and motivation to deliver high-quality work to deadline with minimum supervision.
- IT literate with good experience of MS Office and other relevant IT systems as appropriate for the role.
- A deep commitment to democratic reform, political inequality and an inclusive democracy and a sound grasp of UK political context, institutions, and processes including elections.

Terms and conditions:

About CoppaFeel!
CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. We educate people on the signs of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests monthly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.
We do this because when diagnosed early, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection can save lives.
Breast cancer does not need to be detected late, and as long as we are here and continue to be supported by people like you, we will do all we can to make sure this doesn’t continue to happen.
The Role
CoppaFeel! is looking for a Programmes Officer to support the growth and development of our regional service delivery over the next 18 months.
The Programmes Officer will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of a portfolio of activities to strengthen CoppaFeel!s awareness raising work at a regional level, helping us to engage more young people across the UK through volunteer activities and localised service delivery.
This is a fixed term position and a busy role with broad responsibilities including project co-ordination and administration. You will sit within the Education team and report to the Senior Programmes Manager.
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that you will attend the London office 2 days per week. You will also be required to attend the office for quarterly team meetings, department meetings, and in-person training. We will provide plenty of notice for when you are required to be in for these purposes.
Due to the nature of the role you will also be expected to provide occasional support with delivery and events in targeted regions throughout the UK. There may be occasional weekend / out of hours working for which you will be awarded TOIL.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide support and assistance to the Senior Programmes Manager to ensure the successful implementation and operation of regional projects.
- Provide administrative support, facilitating communication between key stakeholders and acting as the key contact for enquiries.
- Attend programme and stakeholder meetings to share updates and gather feedback.
- Assist with the set up and operational delivery of collaborative services, coordinating activities, resources and timelines in line with agreed delivery plans.
- Attend in person events and activities to support staff, volunteers and community partners.
- Represent CoppaFeel! at events, promoting and communicating our awareness message.
- Deliver awareness talks and presentations of our key messaging to support regional interventions.
- Liaise with colleagues in other departments to ensure services offered are targeted appropriately and to support a collaborative approach to delivering regional programmes.
- Work with the Senior Programmes Manager to identify opportunities to deliver our work in localised settings.
- Collaborate with the digital team to promote and celebrate regional work through CoppaFeel!s digital channels.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regional partners, healthcare professionals, volunteers, and community groups.
- Support the Senior Programmes Manager to monitor the effectiveness and impact of regional programmes by gathering, collating and reporting data to track project progress.
- Maintain records on activities delivered and update stakeholder records using our CRM database.
- Work with the Engagement and Inclusion team to ensure services delivered are inclusive, accessible, and are informed by meaningful engagement with young people.

As the Operations Assistant you will be supporting the Operations Manager in
delivering and maintaining effective operational function at the charity.
Including but not exclusively, Health & Safety, Premises, Facilities, Vehicle
Management, and IT Services.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Support
Act as the first point of contact for premises, facilities, IT and Estates
issues across all Weston Park Cancer Charity locations.
Assist the Operations Manager in maintaining a secure and organised
premises and facilities, which ensure colleagues, volunteers and visitors
are safe and experience a welcoming environment.
Support the Operations Manager in the successful delivery of the Annual
Operations plan.
Provide administrative support to the Operations Manager and take
minutes in operations-related working groups.
Support with updating operational policies and procedures.
Act as a Charity Data Protection Officer (DPO), alongside the Operations
Manager - following relevant training, to promote a strong GDPR culture.
Assist in the coordination of charity vehicle fleet maintenance schedules
and provide breakdown response support.
Assist in the control and coordination of the use of charity space and
assets, including liaising with contractors and Sheffield Teaching
Hospitals (STH) on relevant matters as required.
Act as a designated keyholder, responsible for the opening and closing
procedure.
Manage the operations shared email inbox.
Health & Safety
Serve as the first point of contact for all Health & Safety matters,
including incidents and accidents, ensuring accurate recording and
reporting.
Provide operational and administrative support on all Health & Safety
matters at our sites and external locations (including external events and
the Outreach Service, updating COSHH reports).
Assist in the procurement, delivery and recording of mandatory staff
training needs.
Help establish and maintain safe working practices and policies and
undertake basic risk assessments.
Workwear and equipment
Act as the first point of contact for workwear and equipment requests;
including being responsible for issuing and returning stock, regular stock
checks and ordering stock as required.
Tech Support
Serve as the first point of contact for general IT enquiries.
Consult with IT consultants to ensure adherence to processes.
Work with the Operations Manager to implement processes that
maintain the IT security score.
Assist in the onboarding and offboarding of employees, including
software licenses, logins, and induction training.
Serve as lead administrator for key operational software, such as Webex
phone system and Vatix Lone Worker App.
General Administrative Support & Development
Handle general enquiries from staff, patients, and volunteers efficiently.
Manage charity postal enquiries.
Assist the Operations Manager with the procurement of stationery and
consumables.
Assist the wider team with ad hoc work and undertake small projects
that support the charity's work. e.g. Events, Logistical and Tech Support.
Environmental Advocate
Work with the Operations Manager to promote environmental
awareness and encourage the charity adopts a green approach (e.g.,
recycling, energy use, carbon footprint).
Identify and implement actions to reduce environmental impacts, costs,
and/or increase income under the direction of the Operations Manager.

How are staff supported to work remotely?
VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community.
When you need to travel for work, expenses will be paid (mileage or public transport costs).
VoiceAbility offers the usual regular manager one to ones, Staff forums and communities of practice depending on role. Team meetings with a mix of virtual and in person approach.

How are staff supported to work remotely?
VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community.

The Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Officer will work alongside the Head of Income, Partnerships and Communications to help deliver Rising Sun’s fundraising targets during this exciting period of growth for the charity.
The main focus of the role is finding, attracting and stewarding new funders to help deliver Rising Sun’s life changing services. You will write compelling funding proposals that demonstrate the impact of our services and how we meet funders’ requirements.
