You’ll work closely with our Development Director and project leads, playing a central role in securing the resources that power our investigations. About the role

We are the UK’s largest independent non-profit investigative newsroom. Our reporting is published by media partners around the world and holds power to account across five areas: environment, health, big tech, dirty money and local power.

This role will manage 2–3 of our editorial teams, providing strategic fundraising support to help them deliver journalism that drives real-world change. While the exact portfolio will be confirmed with the successful candidate, the role will initially support 2-3 of our core teams and may also contribute to work on emerging issues such as mis- and disinformation and its impact on UK communities.

Our teams include:

• Bureau Local: Works with communities across the UK to uncover hidden stories and drive accountability. Recent work includes exposing the exploitation of migrant workers, running a community-led investigation shaped by the Trans+ community, and bringing vital transparency to the family courts through reporting and mentoring.

• Enablers: Investigates the lawyers, accountants and financial structures that enable corruption and allow illicit finance to flow through the UK. Their reporting has prompted major regulatory investigations and scrutiny.

• Big Tech: Scrutinises the power and influence of major technology companies, examining issues such as moderator working conditions, surveillance, algorithmic harms, digital rights and the impact of AI on society. Their reporting has informed safety measures, supported litigation, and strengthened public understanding of how tech shapes our lives.

• Environment: Investigates the environmental and human impacts of resource extraction, climate finance and the actions of powerful corporations. Their reporting has contributed to changes in corporate practices and prompted customers to take action - including leaving their banks.

• Global Health: Examines the systems that shape access to healthcare, the safety and quality of medicines, and the influence of corporate and political interests on global health outcomes. The team has briefed the WHO and medical practitioners, ensuring their findings inform policy and frontline practice.

Our fundraising

The Bureau is almost entirely funded through grants and donations – without our supporters, we couldn’t do what we do. Over recent years, we’ve grown to a team of 35 people with an annual income of £2.8m, backed by a committed network of trusts, foundations, and individuals.

This is an exciting time to join our fundraising team as we build on those strong relationships and explore new ways to diversify our income.

Responsibilities

• Work with project leads to develop their ideas into a strong case for support, translating complex issues into powerful, accessible narratives for funders.

• Manage relationships with existing funders, ensuring timely reporting, effective stewardship and continued support.

• Research and develop a pipeline of new prospects.

• Write compelling proposals and applications to secure new grants.

• Collaborate with our other Fundraising Manager, who leads on the remaining themes, and provide support in those areas when needed.

• Support the Bureau in identifying ways to diversify our income, such as helping to grow our major donor programme.

• Work closely with colleagues across the Bureau - from reporters and impact producers to operations and finance – and play an active part in maintaining a collaborative, supportive workplace culture.

• Pitch in on a range of fundraising tasks, big and small, to keep the Bureau in the best position to deliver its journalism.

Skills and experience

• Fundraising track record: 5+ years’ experience raising significant money for charities or non-profits, especially from foundations (HNW experience a bonus).

• Grants expertise: confidence managing the full cycle from initial due diligence and agreements through to reporting back about our work.

• Great communicator: able to translate complex issues into strong and compelling proposals; fluent in English.

• Researcher and analyst: skilled at identifying new funding opportunities.

• Organised: able to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines with strong attention to detail.

• Collaborative: comfortable working with colleagues at all levels in a newsroom environment.

• Creative and resourceful: able to think beyond simple metrics to make a powerful case for impact.

Experience securing funds for journalism, social justice, civil society, or human rights is desirable but not essential. People with experience raising funds for campaigning or rights-based work may be especially well-suited.

Summary

The Vision and Strategy Team has been established to support the whole Church in its embrace of and engagement with the national Vision and Strategy for the Church for the 2020s. The Vision and Strategy department has three strategic priorities: to be a church of missionary disciples, to be younger and more diverse, and to develop a mixed ecology - doing church in varied forms and settings.

The Vision and Strategy team consults on, one of the largest grant-aking programmes in the country, with £100m + of Strategic Mission and Ministry Investment (SMMI) disbursed annually by the Strategic Mission and Ministry Investment Board (SMMIB) to support the Church's mission and ministry across England, prioritising investment in the most income deprived communities. In addition, the team manages a portfolio of £300m of existing projects and programmes. This role has been established to provide editorial leadership for the next phase of development for the Church of England's Church Support Hub. Robes is a small but mighty charity tackling homelessness across Southwark and Lambeth. Working with over 600 volunteers, churches and community partners, we deliver life-changing services to vulnerable people on the streets.

The Role

You'll lead fundraising strategy across multiple income streams, focusing on trusts, foundations, corporate partnerships and major donors. You'll manage the full fundraising cycle from research and relationship-building through stewardship.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you’ll execute our new fundraising strategy, support our growth plans, research funding opportunities, write strong grant applications, manage a pipeline of major donor prospects, plan our 20th anniversary campaign, and provide quarterly progress reports.

With three days a week focused on foundation and corporate partnerships work, a full-time role would typically include one day on legacy work and one day on community events.

We are looking for someone to join us for a maternity cover contract from February 2026 to March 2027.  In our London Office vet team as our Veterinary Nurse Manager overseeing and supporting our vet nurse teams across the organisation.  

What does this role do?

As a Veterinary nurse manager you will,
 

• Lead and manage including making any required changes to  the SAS and VSF funding schemes, supporting the team to manage their workload.
• Oversee the invoice management for payments relating to these schemes and liaising with the Head of Finance.
• Support the Senior Vet Nurses in managing the Emergency Trust Fund (ETF) and any exceptional funding agreed for veterinary care of dogs.
• Provide professional support to the veterinary nursing teams working within the rehoming centres supporting their individual professional development as well as the functions of the vet suites. 
• Oversee patient safety and continual improvement across all vet nurse teams.
• Liaise with wider DT departments (Operations, Communications and Customer Support Centre) to manage escalated complaints which may include difficult or sensitive situations.
•  Represent the clinical veterinary team in cross organisational projects as well as undertake project management work that aligns with our strategy.

Purpose of the job

This role is responsible for the design of UK Youth’s support to young people, youth organisations and youth workers. This could include structured youth work programmes, funding and grants+ programmes, professional development programmes, and campaigns.

You will lead and oversee end-to-end design processes, ensuring that UK Youth develops fully packaged offers that respond to the evidence base and people’s needs, drive forward our strategy and achieve incredible impact. Under the supervision of the European Regional Director, the Director of External Partnerships will oversee IFAW’s strategic partnerships development geared towards advancing IFAW’s efforts to protect and save the lives of animals.

He/she will strengthen IFAW’s profile in the United Kingdom by:

o Representing IFAW in UK, in particular to corporations, institutional donors, private foundations, and other relevant stakeholders, with the aim of increasing IFAW’s visibility and generating revenue;

o Leading the development, implementation, and partnerships management, as well as external advocacy and influence;

o Carrying out outreach and community engagement to drive positive change.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Partnerships strategy elaboration

· Design and update a comprehensive partnership strategy with external stakeholders in the UK market. In order to support IFAW’s mission and strategies, this Partnership Strategy shall cover the following types of partnership:

o Polical and institutional (public sector, national and decentralized authorities);

o Financial (private sector and institutional donors);

o Technical, programmatic and academic (non-governmental community, universities, research institutes).

· Work closely with cross-functional teams to align Partnership Strategy in the UK and beyond

2. Strategy implementation and partnerships development

· Build, foster and maintain strong relationships with target stakeholders (external audiences, leaders, institutional partners, community organizations, funders, etc.) to

o Enhance effectiveness and reach

o Advance and drive collaborative solutions

· Influence UK key political decision-making processes

· Represent IFAW on priority issues in external meetings, conferences, public events, and media interviews and act as spokesperson.

· Play a key role in advancing IFAW commitment to impact investing. This involves:

o Identifying investment opportunities that generate financial returns and create social/environmental benefits.

o Working with the IFAW Leadership Team and others to develop and implement innovative investment strategies that align with strategy ensuring that our resources are used to drive transformative change.

3. IFAW UK Representation

· Serve as IFAW’s UK Representative corporations, institutional donors, private foundations, and other relevant stakeholders

· Serve as authorized signatory, when appropriate

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· Minimum of five years of experience in the development of strategic partnerships and institutional funding, NGO management, high-level advocacy or a related field in the UK and beyond.

· Strong leadership and team management skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Agility and strategic vision

· Demonstrated expertise in the nonprofit landscape.

· General understanding of environmental and climate issues. Knowledge of conservation and animal welfare is an asset but not essential.

· Ability to analyze data and use it to inform decision-making.

· Experience with local, regional, and national institutional funding sources.

· Working knowledge of legal and compliance obligations that apply to international NGO operating in the UK.

The Head of Union Building will lead a team at head office and work collaboratively with Union Building related staff in our regions to develop and deliver the ITF’s ambitious Union Building programme and its growth path. This includes the development, implementation and monitoring of strategies to ensure that Union Building portfolio and funding grows, and that Union Building projects achieve their agreed objectives and are coherently reported in line with TUSSO standards. The role will also contribute to the strategies required to fulfil the ITF’s overall objectives.

Due to the international aspects of the organisation’s work, a good working knowledge of another language would be an advantage. Proficient in using standard office equipment and other relevant software.

The postholder will work closely with key stakeholders, including policymakers, government departments, funders, infrastructure bodies, and sector leaders, to address structural inequalities, unlock resources, and elevate the recognition of Muslim-led charities in British society. This role will involve both coalition-building and strategic campaigning to create lasting change within the sector.

Working in collaboration with MCF’s policy, communications, advocacy, and research teams, the Head of Partnerships and Systemic Change will ensure a coordinated approach that drives long-term, sector-wide capacity improvement and sustainable impact.

Strategic Leadership & Systemic Change

• Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy focused on driving systemic change that enhances the impact and sustainability of Muslim-led charities.
