JOB PURPOSE

You will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO, trustees and international colleagues to steward and cultivate key donor relationships and continue the development and implementation of the strategy to grow the major donor pipeline. As a Senior Manager, you will take ownership of the overall Major Donor Strategy, and budget and provide strategic insight into how we grow and improve our programme.

You will be confident in navigating complex environments with multiple stakeholders and in negotiating internally as well as externally, championing the major donor programme to ensure a strong enabling environment for the growth of the programme. You will enjoy developing strong relationships, have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and will be adept at managing donor and prospect pipelines as well as crafting compelling donor communications.

This role will be responsible for managing the Philanthropy Manager role and will provide support, mentorship and coaching to help the development of this role.

United Kingdom for UNHCR is the United Nations Refugee Agency’s national charity partner for the United Kingdom. We generate public awareness of the plight of refugees and raise funds to help protect them through UNHCR’s humanitarian operations across the world.

ROLE RESPONSIBLITIES

• Manage the philanthropy manager role through coaching, and by motivating and supporting them to reach their annual target.
• Build on a warm portfolio of donors to achieve current income targets and spot opportunities for growth and deeper development of philanthropic relationships
• Monitor and deliver annual philanthropy budgets and KPIs, assessing ongoing performance, proactively managing risks and providing accurate reporting.
• Own and drive the Major Donor strategy in collaboration with the Head of Philanthropy.
• Support on intermediary strategy and growth in this area.
• Work as part of the Philanthropy Team to grow opportunities within the major donor funding stream in line with UK4U’s fundraising strategy
• Lead on the growth and development of a robust prospect pipeline working with the corporate team, individual giving team, trustees, prospect research team, philanthropy team and other key stakeholders.
• Work with the wider international organisation to identify the most appropriate funding propositions for donors and also the internal technical experts and leadership colleagues who can help support and drive forward opportunities.
• Craft compelling propositions and proposals for major donors and ensure quality and timely reporting on donations made.
• Establish a strategic and tactical response to selected prospects and existing major donors in the event of humanitarian emergencies.
• Work independently and with the prospect researcher to gather up-to-date and accurate information on existing and prospective donors.
• Maintain accurate records on Salesforce, for income recording and earmarking.
• Work with the wider team to deliver bespoke activities including virtual and in-person events
• Support wider PPH strategic initiatives: helping identify and implement enablers to help the organisation secure and grow more multi-year partnerships, including at transformational levels.
• Help to position and raise awareness of UK4U’s role among peers, donors and other audiences by participating in sector networks and representing UK4U at events, as appropriate.
• Work within UK4U’s due diligence policy and GDPR policies and processes.
• Support the philanthropy team in other activities, as requested.

Essential Experience

• Experience of inputting into annual plans, multi-year budgets.

• Experience of working in an income generating capacity with an NGO, INGO or university to identify, approach, secure and steward prospects and major donors giving or capable of giving over 5 to 7 figure gifts.

The Thalidomide Trust is a charity which was established in 1973 to provide assistance and support to people born in the UK with disabilities caused by their mother taking the drug Thalidomide. We have secure long-term funding that allows the team to focus exclusively on building long term relationships to provide the best possible support and make a real difference to our beneficiaries.

We are looking for a Health & Wellbeing Coordinator (Independence & Care) to join our busy Health & Wellbeing Team to meet the increasingly complex needs of our 423 beneficiaries, now aged between 60 and 66 years, whose disabilities include: absence or shortening of limbs; damaged ears, hearing and eyesight; brain and sensory impairment and extensive damage to the internal organs and skeletal structure. 

As our beneficiaries age their health is deteriorating rapidly and they face particular challenges maintaining their quality of life and independence. This post provides an opportunity to work as part of a professional multi-disciplinary team, empowering them to manage their health and wellbeing and access the services and support that they are entitled to.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, Social Care professional to join our Health & Wellbeing team on a 12 month Fixed Term contract.

Your role will be to understand the unique and often complex growing needs of our beneficiaries and to provide advice, advocacy and support to empower them to access the health and social care services they need. You will lead on hospital discharge planning and rehabilitation and support to access social care, so must be proficient in these key areas with recent experience. You will also lead on supporting Personal Independence Payments (PIP) applications and while we welcome experience in this area, full training will be given. You will contribute to the development and delivery of the Trust’s health and wellbeing services, and you will be an important part of the successful delivery of the annual programme of Holistic Needs Assessments (HNAs), carried out in beneficiaries’ homes.

Skills & Abilities

To succeed in this busy but highly rewarding role, you will:

• Be a good listener with excellent interpersonal skills and a flexible approach 
• Possess excellent knowledge of current social care referral, assessment and funding processes and the interface between health and social care – particularly in respect of hospital discharge planning and support
• Already have a good practical knowledge of the UK benefits system, particularly PIP
• Have experience of undertaking needs assessments (including in people’s own homes)
• Have a track record of working effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Be comfortable working without clearly defined protocols and have creative problem-solving skills and a solutions-focussed approach

The role

The Finance and Operations Manager will oversee the charity’s back-office functions, ensuring that the charity meets the highest standards of governance and management and that the charity’s philanthropy services are delivered efficiently and effectively.

The key responsibilities of the role are:

• Providing the accounting and financial management function for the charity.
• Overseeing the management of the charity’s portfolio of investments, including expanding the range of investment options for our DAFs.

We are looking to appoint a Shop Cover Manager (known internally as Divisional Support Lead) supporting Scope shops in the southeast. These include Bognor Regis, Brighton, Dover, Haslemere, Hove BR, Seaford, Sittingbourne, Tolworth, West Croydon and Wimbledon.

This is an exciting role working closely with the fantastic shop teams to enable our shops to trade when there is absence. The role will play a key role in maintaining and improving the running of our shops day to day and enable us to maximise sales and profit.

Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! From generating and processing stock to designing an eye-catching window display or recruiting and training our wonderful volunteer team you’ll find every day challenging but extremely rewarding. Purpose

The successful candidate will be employed by The Linking Network (TLN) in Bradford and work collaboratively as part of a small team and a wide network of committed stakeholders who are working together to inspire community cohesion through schools across the UK. The Operations Manager will have an opportunity to help shape how the organisation runs, playing a pivotal role in ensuring smooth, efficient and compliant operations. The key responsibilities are described in more detail below; these are subject to change as the needs of the charity evolve over time. Training and support will be available for the successful candidate depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

Supporting our team and network

● Contribute to organisational planning and reporting cycles, in pursuit of our collective vision to inspire community cohesion across the country

● Assist the Directors through diary management, prioritising where needed and supporting preparation before meetings 

● Provide general administration support to the team such as booking meeting rooms, arranging travel and maintaining a comprehensive filing system

● Develop our internal processes and support our team meetings with clear agendas and actions

● Support the team to plan and deliver stakeholder meetings and events (e.g., celebration events with our schools and communities), including through sourcing the right venue, managing the guestlist and liaising with speakers 

● Help the team develop compelling presentations, training aids, handouts or other communications

● Provide general support to TLN’s Local Areas, for example booking training sessions, printing and posting key materials or following up on agreed actions

● Enable the team to plan effective Network meetings, ensuring the right materials are shared in advance and notes of key points and actions circulated promptly afterwards

● Request and organise accurate records for TLN’s local areas across the country so that we understand our collective work across schools and communities

Managing our general operations 

● Help foster a supportive, inclusive and values-driven working culture

● Support staff recruitment, induction, development and training, working with the Directors to manage HR records including annual leave

● Work with external providers to ensure the team have the right IT systems and support

● Maintain and update TLN’s website and web-based resources, working alongside the team and our contracted website developer

● Manage the office space and supplies to ensure that the team has the required resources to achieve their objectives

● Provide administration support to the Board of Trustees, including organising meetings, circulating board papers and taking minutes

● Coordinate the implementation of key policies - including Safeguarding, Health & Safety and GDPR - ensuring the policies are kept up to date with support from the Directors and Trustees and all relevant procedures are in place

● Ensure the charity’s insurance, Health & Safety and DBS certificates are up to date and maintain a single central record of safeguarding training and DBS certificates

Managing our finances 

● Monitor organisational spend against budget, ensuring the timely spending of restricted funds and value-for-money procurement

● Manage payroll and staff expenses and keep finance records up to date

● Administer grants to TLN’s Local Areas, ensuring all contracts are signed, invoices are requested and payments are made on time 

● With the support of the Directors and our contracted accountants, prepare monthly management accounts, the year end statutory accounts and budgets for the year ahead and funding applications

● Support the team to develop effective reports that communicate the progress of our work to funders and other key stakeholders

● Ensure all funders receive invoices and any reporting requirements within their deadlines

Housing Justice is committed to ensuring everyone has a safe and secure place to live. We work with people of all backgrounds, including those most marginalised by society, such as refugees and individuals with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF). We provide innovative housing solutions and foster supportive community networks through volunteer-led initiatives and partnerships.

This is a strategic leadership role driving the expansion and impact of our work in developing a portfolio of sustainable housing options for people seeking sanctuary in Wales.  This role will focus on scaling our accommodation offer, positioning it as a flagship model of hospitality and welcome for people facing homelessness due to immigration status or displacement.  The Manager will support sanctuary seekers whilst managing properties and tenancies, ensuring compliance with regulations.

You will also oversee the strategic direction of our Hosting Project, forging new partnerships, and building a sustainable, volunteer-supported model of community-based housing.  The role also plays a vital role in the creation of a positive living environment for clients by implementing effective policies, addressing clients’ needs and resolving concerns.

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours: Monday - Friday, 9.30am - 5.30pm with some out-of-hours work needed for events such as our Spear Celebrations

Salary: from £29,355

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

Strategy, vision and impact [25%]

• Be at the forefront of leading Resurgo’s ‘big picture’ vision of a transformed society, empowering churches to transform young lives 
• Build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with local referral agencies to ensure effective recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme 
• Oversee the reporting of the Centre outcomes and ensure the Spear Programme is delivered in line with agreed targets 

Leadership, line management and training [25%]

• Lead your team with confidence; spurring them on in Resurgo’s mission; invest in a team culture of excellence, belonging and fun 
• Manage and develop the Lead Coach and Graduate Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development. This includes weekly 1:1s, performance reviews and regular feedback
• Equip your team to drive change through a data informed approach, and keep them accountable to agreed targets for the Spear Programme

Relationship management [20%]

• Manage great relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, donors, and your Board of Trustees 
• Embed into your local church; working closely with your Spear Trustees and congregation, and actively participating in their mission and events
• Partner with the Spear Trustees and assist in implementing their funding strategy by helping to build corporate and donor relationships. For example, by hosting prospective donors in the Training Room

Delivery of the Spear Programme [20%]

• Support group and 1-1 coaching with numerous 16-24-year-olds: equipping them with practical work-ready skills and resilient mindsets 
• Provide guidance to the Lead Coach in the training room when dealing with behavioural and safeguarding situations and upskill coaches with consistent coaching feedback
• Use a coaching approach to engage young people in challenging conversations that will enable them to take responsibility and over significant barriers to employment 

Operations [10%]

• Liaise with relevant staff regarding site operations and work to resolve any issues as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies

We are now seeking to appoint a Head of Policy Engagement to lead our engagement with policymakers and senior sectoral stakeholders under our four community-led missions and lead our customer support offer. Using your deep understanding of the political and social environment in which our grantholders operate, you will explore the context for new funding initiatives, including potential partnerships, ensuring that we are making the greatest impact possible.   

You will already have well established relationships with Welsh Government Departments, other funders and the voluntary and community sector and you will use this to share learning and insight from our funding, lead consultations and identify opportunities for future collaboration. You will convene both grantholder and stakeholder networks to inform our analysis and ensure that community voice is at the heart of our decision-making. 

Working with our Funding Team you will ensure we provide first class customer support leading our advice service and working closely in support of our outreach work, ensuring an appropriate level of general and targeting applicant and customer support. 

You will be part of a policy and practice network across the Fund, working collaboratively with colleagues across the UK to develop One-Fund approaches to our missions. 

We’re looking for someone who is values-driven, passionate about the Fund’s purpose and deeply committed to equity, diversity and inclusion and environmental responsibility. You will have a strong track record of influencing at a senior level and be able to articulate strategic ambitions clearly and effectively.  You will also have a nuanced understanding of the role of a non-Departmental Public Body in the policy landscape and experience of working collaboratively across organisational boundaries.  As a member of the Wales Leadership Team, you will provide inspiring leadership and strategic direction to the wider team.

We have a Senior Solicitor opportunity in our in-house legal team to work on a broad range of matters.

Fixed term contract until 16th January 2026, 4 days a week (0.8 FTE) 

The successful candidate will be required to provide legal advice across areas of law including but not limited to public law, charity law and general commercial law, including intellectual property, contracts and procurement.  You will also advise on subsidy control, information law and litigation, provide practical legal advice to help further our Strategy, It Starts with Community, in a user-friendly way, to ensures that we are complying with our statutory and regulatory framework.

The role requires an ability to get up to speed with new areas of the law as the team deals with a broad range of legal issues. The Senior Solicitor will use their legal knowledge and experience to improve the Fund’s internal processes.

They will generally manage their own legal files (often on important funding initiatives and partnerships) working in a highly collaborative and collegiate team, where the sharing of legal know how and continuous improvement is highly valued up to date management information about the work and impact of the Legal Team to senior managers.

The Senior Solicitor will be working in a Legal team of 14 colleagues. The role does not include any line management responsibilities but it does have matrix management responsibilities for more junior members of the team (Solicitors, paralegals and Legal officer). 

Strong general commercial legal experience is essential.  Experience working in an in-house or private practice environment in the UK with a varied and workload and wide range of customers would be ideal, as would experience of public law and advising public bodies.

The roles can be based in any of our UK offices, with hybrid home/office working arrangements available. It is expected that the candidate will attend the London office every couple of months for key meetings.

The Finance Manager will have responsibility for the organisation's financial function, and providing financial management support to the Chief Executive, Treasurer and Finance Committee.

This is a varied and hands-on role where you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, including monthly reconciliation and producing regular management accounts. The role will also be responsible for monitoring cashflow and producing financial reports relating to project funding as well. 

The Finance Manager will work alongside the Chief Executive in creating the financial strategy and annual budgets. The role will also be the day to day contact for the Auditors, Payroll providers, Bank Managers etc.
