The Role

As Community and Trusts Fundraiser, you will be at the heart of our community fundraising efforts while also taking ownership of your fundraising portfolio, focusing on maximising income from Community groups, Individuals, Trusts and Foundations (both UK and international). You'll build and manage your own portfolio of donors, create fundraising initiatives and try new approaches that inspire and encourage community fundraising. Your Responsibilities:

· Develop and deliver engaging fundraising campaigns and activities for community groups and individuals.

Fundraiser – The Role:

In this part-time role (22.5 hrs p/w) you will be responsible for all aspects of fund raising for The Middle Temple and for the associated activity. You will generate the strategy, annual fundraising plan and then enact activity to achieve the objectives set in the plan.

Fundraiser – Key Responsibilities:

- To write the Middle Temple fundraising strategy and annual plan. Then, to enact the plan to achieve fundraising objectives

- To organise and run the annual calendar of fundraising activities, including appeals

- To manage the oversight of the Trustees of the Middle Temple charity and fund through regular meetings of these groups

- To manage, and keep updated, the fundraising databases and information sources required to enable the Inn’s fundraising

- Identify, cultivate and then apply to various funding sources, both internally and externally including grants and trusts

Fundraiser – You:

- An experienced fundraising practitioner used to both creating strategies and plans as well as operating as a ‘hands on’ operator

- Strong administrative experience, ideally in a fundraising role, dealing with the legal and administrative requirements of fundraising including the relationship management of donors

Background and purpose

We are the only UK-wide charity for everyone affected by a genetic and acquired bleeding disorder. 

At the Haemophilia Society (THS) we want to empower everyone affected by a bleeding disorder to live life to the full, whatever your stage in life.

One in 2,000 men, women and children in the UK have a diagnosed bleeding disorder, which are a group of conditions, including haemophilia and von Willebrand disorder, that result when the blood cannot clot properly. 

As many as a third of bleeding disorder diagnoses have no known family history and can be the result of a random gene mutation. This means a bleeding disorder diagnosis can come completely out of the blue.

THS brings together people with bleeding disorders and their families to share experiences and understand more about how to live well with a bleeding disorder. Together, we can all make a difference.

About the role

We’re incredibly lucky to have a generous and dedicated community who are always looking for new ways to support our work. We are seeking a motivated Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser to secure vital income and build strong partnerships with funders across the UK.

About the role

As Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser, you will play a key role in generating income to support our mission of sharing the joy of live music in care settings. You will manage a portfolio of small and medium value trusts and foundations, writing compelling funding proposals and delivering excellent stewardship to strengthen long-term relationships.

Overview of the Job:

• Preparing tailored applications to trusts and foundations in line with organisational strategy and values.

JUSTICE is looking to recruit an interim Trust and Foundation Fundraiser to join our friendly, values-led team. This is a fixed term post for 15 months (maternity cover) and provides an exciting opportunity for someone who has experience of raising income from trusts and foundations. 

We are looking for an individual who has an interest in the purpose of the charity (to improve the UK justice system so that it is fair and within everyone’s reach), as well as a keen interest in taking responsibility for raising income from new and existing trusts and foundations and stewarding grants. This is an exciting time to join JUSTICE as we focus on a period of growth, looking to expand our reach out of London and internationally.  This role will really suit someone who enjoys identifying and then building relationships with funders, has great writing skills, has experience of securing five to six figure grants, is comfortable with a degree of autonomy and who thrives in this competitive fundraising environment. 

Around one-third of JUSTICE’s £1.5 million income currently comes from grants, with active partnerships including major funders. Sustaining and growing this income will require proactive research, strategic outreach, and a highly organised, detail-focused approach to both applications and stewardship. 

This role sits within an enthusiastic and supportive Development Team. The role works closely with the Director of Development and Policy Team, who are committed to leveraging their time and networks to support fundraising success, to put together engaging applications and grant reports. The post-holder will also collaborate with other fundraising colleagues, while enjoying a high level of autonomy in contributing to the long-term direction of JUSTICE’s Strategy.

JUSTICE is a law reform and human rights organisation, working to improve processes and policies to support everyone, particularly marginalised groups, be able to seek justice or a remedy when their rights have been breached or the law has been broken. We also seek to improve the justice system as a whole, ensuring that laws are clear and consistent and that the government and other key decisionmakers are held to account.

We are a founding member of The Justice Hub, which is situated next to St Paul’s Cathedral. in London. We also have staff based in other locations including in Manchester, Sheffield and Edinburgh. All team members are expected to join the ‘in-person’ days in the office (roughly 5 days a year) but otherwise we encourage and support flexible working. Alongside flexible working conditions, every member of staff is entitled to 27 days annual leave plus an additional two days of leave to look after your wellbeing and to celebrate your birthday. We also close the office between 25 December and 1 January (inclusive), which is addition to the annual leave mentioned above. We review salaries according to inflationary changes on an annual basis, contribute 8% to your pension for the first 2yrs, rising to a 10.5% contribution thereafter and offer generous parental and dependency-related leave.
