Role Description

You would be responsible for:

• ensuring that gifts left to Animal Aid in wills are handled efficiently and sensitively, liaising with solicitors and executors to ensure income is received promptly and correctly recorded
• growing our legacy giving programme by building relationships with supporters who are considering leaving a gift in their will and overseeing legacy marketing campaigns, working with colleagues
• reporting on legacy income and forecasts to feed into our future strategy

SOS!SEN is hiring a Trusts and Foundations Manager (part-time) to lead income generation from charitable trusts and foundations. This is a pivotal role in a small but rapidly growing charity, where your work directly translates into legal advice, support and empowerment for families of children with special educational needs and disabilities.

What you’ll be doing

• Researching, identifying and applying to relevant trusts and foundations
• Writing clear, persuasive proposals aligned with our mission and 2025–26 strategy
• Managing funder reporting and stewardship to build long-term relationships
• Working directly with the CEO to shape and implement our fundraising plans
• Playing a key role in delivering organisational growth and impact

• Has secured significant trust and foundation income, ideally in the £10k range
• Writes clearly and persuasively, with a sharp understanding of impact and narrative
• Is organised, motivated and comfortable working independently in a small team
• Understands and cares about tackling systemic inequality in the SEND system

The role

Are you passionate about fundraising and supporting an inspiring programme of artistic events, learning activities and community work?  

We are seeking a Philanthropy Officer to play a key role in supporting and delivering excellent stewardship for our Patrons and most generous individual donors. From dance and film, to music, theatre and visual arts the Philanthropy team works across the whole of our ambitious and joyful cross-arts programme, giving you the chance to share the best of the Barbican with our closest supporters.

The Philanthropy Officer will be the main point of contact in the Philanthropy team, primarily account managing our lower-level Patrons and supporting the stewardship and recruitment of higher level donors. Alongside the delivery of our Patrons scheme, they will lead on all individual giving events and manage the philanthropy team’s participation in Development-wide events such as exhibition private views. The Philanthropy Officer also provides key administrative support to the Philanthropy team, keeping track of financial reconciliation, preparing invoices, and managing accurate income data in our CRM Spektrix.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to build on their experience of relationship management and develop their career in fundraising while contributing to the work of an exciting multi-arts venue at a key point of change for the
