NPC is looking for a Fundraising Executive, to join our dynamic Innovation and Development team to help deliver an amazing experience for our donors and prospects, and support our day to day fundraising activity, including event management and prospect research.
The Innovation and Development team at NPC lead on new strategies, partnerships and projects and spearhead our fundraising activity to support our work as the think tank for the charity and philanthropy sector. We are a small team so there is plenty of opportunity to get involved with a wide variety of activities and contribute your ideas.
About the role
The Fundraising Executive coordinates the relationships we have with high-net-worth individuals and other key fundraising stakeholders, ensuring an excellent experience of NPC. They are responsible for the philanthropist and funder peer network events and engagement, as well as prospect research, and provide administrative support for our wider fundraising activities.
As the Fundraising Executive you enjoy relationship building and working with people and understand the need to work towards financial targets. You have excellent time management skills and can manage competing priorities. You are an effective communicator, both written and verbally, able to relate with personal credibility to colleagues from across NPC, as well as senior people external to the organisation. Finally, you are enthusiastic about NPC’s mission and for working in the social sector.
Remote-working option available but NPC offices are based in London and so some travel to London will be required for events and meetings.
Salary: £25,000 per annum, pro rata.
Hours: c 37.5 hours per week. However, we are open to exploring flexible working opportunities.

1. Job Purpose

The IG Lead will also be responsible for the ongoing monitoring, continuous improvement and success of your campaigns that provides unrestricted income, crucial to our future growth as an organization.
The role holder will be responsible for:
- Work with the Head of Voluntary Funding and Communications to develop and implement the new strategy for increasing income across all individual giving streams
- Manage Ol Pejeta’s individual giving campaign(s) in order to maximize returns from existing donor base and securing new donors
- Be a key player in achieving the annual targets agreed for all areas of individual giving
- Prepare detailed income and expenditure reports for each area of activity, and interpret data in order to measure effectiveness and return on investment
- Assist the Head of Voluntary Funding and Communications with preparing the annual budget. Prepare quarterly forecasts for individual giving income and report monthly on performance against targets
- Provide expertise and guidance on all matters relating to gift aid, including maximizing income and work closely with the Ol Pejeta UK team to ensuring gift aid declarations are accurately made and stored
- Working with the colleagues who support communications activities to produce strong and compelling fundraising materials for a wide range of channels and media
- Effective management, professional support and personal development of the Individual Giving Team
- Increase levels of supporter engagement, retention and stewardship.
- Work with the team to develop and implement a stewardship programme including regular newsletters, mailings and on-line activity
- Explore and test new methods for donor recruitment and increasing unrestricted income
- Lead on the growth and delivery of the Rhino Guardian / monthly donor programme(s).
- Provide support to ensure successful fundraising events.
- Work collaboratively across teams to help generate leads for corporate, challenge events and major donors

Education, Language and qualifications
- BSc degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Public Relations, International Relations, Law, English, Journalism or any other related field;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, ability to inform and engage through written communication.
Knowledge, skills and Experience
- Proven expertise and experience of developing and delivering individual supporter fundraising strategies acquired in large charities
- Proven expertise of leading financial management of revenue and expenditures in planning, forecasting, and financial key performance indicators within the Individual Giving function
- Extensive experience of complex project or programme management, the successful delivery of objectives to time/budget, including engagement strategies and journeys that are optimised for income generation across different channels
- Substantial background in leading donor stewardship programmes in recruitment and retention, and proactive lifecycle management
- First class ability of interrogating data and databases, donor profiling, analysis and interpretation of results/trends to inform strategy
- Proven experience of CRM practices and application, digital marketing and mass marketing campaigning and audience segmentation and use of data analytics
- Demonstrable experience of inspiring a team to deliver income growth, driving the changes required and championing public fundraising, as well as developing staff
- Experience in raising funds in the European markets;
- Knowledge of regulatory environment for fundraising in the UK from individuals including data protection, Gift Aid and fundraising codes of practice and regulation;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a fluent writing style and the ability to communicate effectively in a wide range of media and audiences;
- Ability to work across teams and departments in a collaborative manner and to proactively engage colleagues on projects and initiatives;
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, and able to influence/persuade a wide range of stakeholders;
- Able to act with tact, diplomacy and confidentiality and deal with sensitive issues;
- Be self-motivated and proactive going above and beyond the call of duty;
- Willingness and ability to be on call out of hours, to accommodate communication with followers/ supporters in different time zones across the globe;

- To coordinate the execution of PETA and its affiliates’ web-based fundraising strategies, including ongoing and one-time web fundraising features, appeals, and content as well as e-mail appeals
- To work closely with other fundraising staff members at PETA and the PETA Foundation US to maximise online income from donors to PETA and its affiliates, including major donors, monthly donors, legacy donors, corporate donors (PETA Business Friends), memorial donors, fundraising-event donors, and prospective donors

Primary Responsibility and Duties:
- Work with PETA’s international affiliates and the PETA Foundation US Interactive Media Group to raise online donations to PETA and its affiliates through the use of existing and planned websites
- Promote the collection of e-mail addresses from existing donors to PETA and its affiliates through postal, phone, and online marketing
- Develop and implement web components for all direct-mail and telemarketing donor appeals, including appeals to monthly donors, Vanguard Society members, and legacy donors
- Ensure that PETA and its affiliates’ main websites and primary sub-sites contain appropriate fundraising options
- Coordinate the production of all fundraising materials, adhering to specified guidelines and style rules
- Manage and monitor all fundraising assets to ensure they are prepared and created in a timely manner in order to keep to the schedule of appeals and ensure deadlines are met
- Execute and manage a comprehensive programme for the use of e-mails to cultivate and solicit donations from current PETA and affiliate donors
- Execute and manage a comprehensive programme to promote the online fundraising programmes of PETA and its affiliates through the use of social networks and search engine marketing
- Act as the task liaison to the PETA US Policy and Marketing departments as well as the PETA Foundation US Production, Legal, and Information Technology (IT) departments for all web-based projects and content, including for privacy, technology, and design issues
- Work with PETA and the PETA Foundation US IT Department and database-management vendors to ensure that all data collected online are managed and maintained properly
- Prepare analytical reports on the performance of web-based fundraising campaigns
- Work closely with the donor development coordinator when appropriate and execute coordination between the online and offline programmes for PETA and its affiliates
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:

In particular, we are keen to secure funding to cover partnership work with our members, particularly member organisations which are led by and for women from BAME, disabled and other groups underrepresented in politics.
