What You'll Do:

BMSTC's aim is to support the health and emotional wellbeing of local people with MS.
We provide specialist therapies, such as neuro physiotherapy, oxygen therapy, footcare, counselling and a range of complementary therapies to help manage symptoms. We also offer a friendly, supportive space where members, families and carers can share information and socialise.
From our purpose-built Therapy Centre in Reading, we not only support people from Berkshire but alsoneighbouring areas of Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey, and Buckinghamshire. We also offer some therapies remotely via Zoom and recorded sessions online.
This year we provided more than 15,000 treatments to over 400 families and were thrilled to received a King's Award for Voluntary Service, equivalent to an MBE, for our life changing work.
The role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Fundraiser, with a proven track record, to take a pivotal role in securing funds to support our life changing work.
With no NHS funding, we need to raise over £700,000 each year to support ourwork. Your success will mean we can provide the best possible support for anyone affected by MS in our community and make our ambitions a reality.
You will
- Lead and support a small fundraising team, looking for ways to maximise use of our resources.
- Seek, select and prioritise opportunities to raise funds and increase the Charity’s profile.
- Regularly monitor progress and inspire our team to reach their targets and goals.
- Take the lead on Trusts, Foundations and Individual Giving and oversee supporter communication and stewardship.
- Be confident indeveloping and evaluating the income generation capability of the Charity as we seek to drive income growth

Our fundraising
The Bureau is almost entirely funded through grants and donations – without our supporters, we couldn’t do what we do. Over recent years, we’ve grown to a team of 35 people with an annual income of £2.8m, backed by a committed network of trusts, foundations, and individuals.
This is an exciting time to join our fundraising team as we build on those strong relationships and explore new ways to diversify our income.

We are seeking a proactive, enthusiastic, and highly organised Fundraising Officer to support our individual giving, community fundraising, and small trusts and foundations activities. Our Sunflower Appeal launched in June 2025 and aims to raise £5million by 2029 to open a new cancer centre at the Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. Direct Marketing Manager (Face to Face Fundraising)
We are looking for a confident and driven Face to Face Fundraising Manager who is eager to join and lead the Direct Marketing team. This role has been created to enable us to meet our ambitious growth and diversification ambitions, ultimately doubling the size of our active regular giving file by 2033.
You will be responsible for the ongoing implementation, oversight and management of our face-to-face fundraising activity, managing significant income and expenditure budgets to accelerate progress towards a cure. You will have demonstrable experience of driving results, quality and positive supporter experience through face-to-face fundraising. You will ensure the highest standard of quality and compliance with organisational protocols, relevant legislation and codes of conduct. Key Responsibilities:
Programme and campaign management
· Lead the development and delivery of the face-to-face fundraising programme and strategy across a range of products and channels. This includes Regular Giving, Lottery and Payroll Giving across Private Site, and Door to door.
· Oversee the delivery of the face-to-face acquisition campaigns; ensuring they are in market on time, on budget and on brand.

· Develop and oversee all training of third-party fundraisers in person (where possible) and ensure that they are motivated, inspired and well informed about the work we do. This includes working closely with the team to develop annual training and engagement plans for each agency partner.
· Oversee the mystery shopping/ shadowing to ensure that new supporters are having a very positive experience at point of acquisition and communicate these findings.
· Work closely with our agency partners, the Compliance team and your team to ensure processes are compliant with the Fundraising Regulator, Gambling Commission, and Data Protection regulations. This includes monitoring fundraising training sessions led by fundraising partners (in person where possible).
· Look into and develop audits and processes across all of our face to face fundraising agencies, ensuring compliance against the Fundraising Regulator's code of fundraising practice.

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.
Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals. This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.
Our Office: Our office is at 3 Riverside, Granta Park, Great Abington, Cambridge, CB21 6AD.
Salary: Circa £44,000 per annum, plus benefits.
