This is a busy role with lots of opportunities to learn new skills, and you’ll be supported by a kind, open and inclusive team. We prioritise work/life balance, offering flexible working and a four-day week. As a Forward Action employee, you’ll co-own the company and share in its success.

You’ll be highly organised, thrive on working quickly and efficiently, and have a sharp eye for detail. You’ll also be proactive, process driven, and an excellent problem solver who’s always keen to improve the way we do things. And as the first point of contact for many of our partners, you’ll be a great communicator who’s brilliant at building relationships.
Crucially, you’ll be excited by the work we do and passionate about your role in helping our partners deliver real world change.
As a mission-led organisation, we exist to try to make the world a fairer, more equitable place. That includes working to build a truly diverse, inclusive workplace and sector. We are therefore particularly keen to receive applications from communities that experience discrimination, for example on the basis of race, disability, socio-economic status or gender identity.
We believe in principles of anti-oppression and are proud to be undertaking a review of our policies, practices and processes to ensure we’re embedding them internally, as well as in our work with partners.

About the role:
Kinship is in our third year of delivering the first national peer support service for kinship carers in England. We are looking for a new Associate Director of Peer Support and Community to build and develop our model and to take the team to the next phase of growth and impact.
Your first priority will be to oversee delivery of the Department for Education national Peer Support Service contract in England. You will lead the development of our hub and spoke model, with an enhanced offer of national resources and support together with a continued focus on on-the-ground support for kinship carers to set up and sustain a network of peer support groups. You will ensure a collaborative approach with services, alignment with national and local campaigning activity, and work closely with marketing and communications colleagues to support kinship carer reach and engagement with our community offer.
We’re taking an integrated approach to our services, so you’ll collaborate well across teams to ensure that support groups and their leaders have easy access to high quality advice, information and training. The team will need to work closely with colleagues delivering our new training and support contract, funded by the Department for Education.

-
Experience of governance and managing risk on high profile service delivery.

Experience of effective budget management.
-
Significant experience of leading the development and delivery of peer support services.

How to apply:
We will ask you for your CV and to respond to the following five questions via the Applied platform. Please note that all answers will be viewed anonymously by reviewers and CVs will not be viewed until after this sift has happened. This is the first opportunity to demonstrate your experience and to stand out in the recruitment process. Reviewers will not see all your answers together until the end and will be marking on the strength of the response to each question. You will have max 250 words per answer.
Questions for application (along with CV):
1. Outline why you want to work at Kinship in this role, and how your values align to the Kinship ones? Please include a bit about your experience in this section.
2. Please give one example of when you have had to develop from scratch OR innovate a national service. Please include what the service budget was, what you did and what the outcome was.

4. You’ll be leading a team who has been through a restructure, with new staff starting and a new model to develop and embed. You will need to work at pace, while providing strong leadership and clarity to the team. How would you approach the first three months, what will you prioritise and what will you need?
5. Given the strategic ambition of Kinship, the context in which we work and this role as Associate Director of Peer Support and Community, where do you see the opportunities and risks for the service in the next 1-2 years? How would you prepare or mitigate them?

Since its establishment in 2006, ROLDA has become a beacon of hope for the millions of vulnerable stray animals in Romania – one of Europe's economically poorest nations. Our mission is to manage the homeless animal population, estimated to be millions, through six key focuses: rescue, rehabilitation, sheltering, sterilisation, and education. Within our shelters, inspired by British kennel design and maintained to meet EU animal welfare standards, we can house up to 700 stray dogs at a time. Here, they receive complete veterinary care, rehabilitation, and preparation for rehoming. Since 2006, we have helped over 48,000 animals (primarily dogs and cats) and built two shelters for dogs and one for disabled and senior cats. We also distribute support, primarily through small grants, to six other charities in Romania and over 40 shelters in Ukraine. We rehome mainly in Switzerland, Sweden, and the UK. In addition to our efforts in rescuing and rehoming animals, ROLDA tackles the root cause of Romania's homeless animals through comprehensive neutering programmes and educational initiatives. About the role
This is an exciting senior role for an environmentally committed leader to cover maternity leave. We are looking for someone who can take strategic oversight of our Green Space for Health programme and provide effective management of the project and its staff.
Our Green Space for Health programme helps to realise the value of green space for physical and mental health, both at healthcare sites and in the wider community. Our flagship project, the NHS Forest, promotes tree planting and woodland creation at NHS sites, supporting and encouraging sites to plant and maintain trees through offering free trees and advice. We support NHS sites to develop their greenspace for the benefits of patients, health staff and communities, while improving biodiversity and combatting climate change. We do this by encouraging green space enhancements such as meadow areas, vegetable growing, orchards and therapeutic gardens, as well as supporting the delivery of nature-based interventions for health.
The Green Space for Health Director will oversee the development of the NHS Forest and other Green Space for Health projects, delivering the programme strategy. This will include managing the Green Space for Health team, overseeing the delivery of our funded projects including budget management, coordinating reports to funders and trustees, and taking a strategic lead on the development and funding of the Green Space for Health programme in consultation with other stakeholders. See the full roles and responsibilities below.
The Green Space for Health Director will deliver our programme strategy through fulfilling the following responsibilities:
- Provide line management for the Green Space for Health Team’s 5 staff members. This will include one-to-one meetings, appraisals and regular team meetings.
- Oversee the delivery of the Green Space for Health funded projects, including NHS Forest tree planting projects and our Nature Recovery Ranger programme.
- Raise income for, monitor and oversee the programme budget in consultation with CSH’s fundraising and finance team.
- Coordinate reporting on the programme, including liaising with funders and producing reports for funders and for CSH’s board of trustees.
- Oversee the development and delivery of Green Space for Health training course, working with Green Space for Health staff and with administrative and strategic support from CSH’s education team.
- Work with the team to coordinate the NHS Forest Advisory Group.
- Build partnerships that will further the development of the programme and contribute to fundraising in line with the programme objectives.
- Act as a spokesperson for the programme, including making presentations, responding to media requests and participating in relevant national policy fora, including for the purposes of wider policy development.
- Be an active member of CSH’s senior management team, helping to develop CSH as an organisation, including strategy, employment and oversight.
