Strategic Leadership
- Developing and implementing annual plans aligned with our strategy, in collaboration with the Board of Trustees, to achieve desired outcomes.

The Individual Giving Officer will work closely with the Director of Fundraising & Engagement and the Head of Fundraising to deliver significant elements of the charity’s fundraising strategy, in particular our Individual Giving income. Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Campaign project management:

Major Gifts Manager, International Fundraising
Position Objective:
To solicit major gifts (£5,000 and above) to support PETA’s international programmes and campaigns.
To build and advance relationships with PETA entities’ major donors and prospects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop a strategy for international for major gifts fundraising
- Manage and maintain a portfolio major gift donors and prospects, across PETA international entities
- Effectively steward donors and prospects
- Develop personal engagement plans for donors, using knowledge and insights to plan appropriate communications
- Solicit major financial contributions from targeted donors
- Manage a pipeline of prospects, creating engaging opportunities for donors to increase their giving to a higher level

ABOUT THE ROLE
Working closely with the Executive Director of Feedback Global, as well as with other members of the senior team and the Executive Director of Feedback EU, the Fundraising Manager will develop and implement a strategy to raise funds for Feedback Global and Feedback EU, with a target of £3m yearly income across both organisations by the end of 2025.
The overwhelming majority of the funds raised will be from trusts and foundations, and so the role will primarily consist of researching potential trusts and working with the different teams to research and write compelling concept notes and applications. As such, the postholder will be expected to proactively keep informed about developments in the food, social justice, and environmental sectors. The postholder will also lead on reporting to these funders and maintain and develop these relationships. The postholder will work to engage institutional supporters, create connections and develop the organisation’s networks with such funders. The postholder will identify new trusts and foundations and build and maintain a robust pipeline of income generation opportunities.
The postholder will also be expected to contribute to other fundraising projects which might include digital fundraising development, direct marketing, and major donor fundraising, in partnership with the communications team and senior leadership team.
This will be a varied role within a fast-paced environment, therefore flexibility and a positive, can-do attitude and a readiness to get stuck into all aspects of the organisation are essential competencies of the successful candidate. Reporting directly to the Executive Directors, the role is integral to the success of the organisation and presents a real opportunity to help shape its future direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and manage a pipeline of trusts and foundations that offer unrestricted and programmatic funding.
- Manage relationships with trusts and other grant-making bodies.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential:
- Trust fundraising experience (approximately 5-7 years)
- Outstanding writing skills and good attention to detail
- Experience of research in an appropriate context. This could be either in an academic or business setting but must demonstrate the ability to read, collate and summarise large amounts of information quickly and accurately.

Lesley Hynes Fundraising works exclusively with small and medium-sized charities and NGOs, providing fundraising expertise, strategic direction and hands-on fundraising support to help charities achieve sustainable growth. Our clients are charities working in mental health, rare disease, the environment, asylum support, food aid, the criminal justice system, and homelessness. We work with them in the long-term and are a critical part of their organisations. We don’t dip in and out. We are a constant. We’ve worked with 30% of our clients for over a decade.

Our team is made up of five established trust fundraisers, most of whom have over 20 years’ experience in fundraising for a broad range of charities across the sector, including health, social welfare, human rights, refugees, penal reform, arts and the environment.

As Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser you will:
- Develop and deliver a strategy to maximise Trust and Foundation income and ensure that all opportunities for securing grant income for Lesley Hynes Fundraising clients, or similar sources of funding, are explored.
- Undertake detailed prospect research and maintain accurate records of the research for Lesley Hynes Fundraising clients.
- Write funding applications on behalf of Lesley Hynes Fundraising clients and assist in drafting and reviewing funder reports.
- On occasion assist in the organisation of events in order to present Lesley Hynes Fundraising clients’ case for support, and attend external meetings with Trusts and Foundations if the client requires.

Experience

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Fundraising Manager to work predominantly on the Warm Welcome Campaign, whilst also supporting wider fundraising efforts within the Good Faith Partnership. The role will work primarily on Trusts and Foundations, supporting other areas of work within the fundraising function, as necessary.
Joining during an exciting period of growth, you will be inheriting a pipeline of passionate funders who have supported the establishment and rapid growth of the Warm Welcome Campaign since 2022. At the same time, there remains a wealth of funders yet to be approached and relationships to be developed.
You will be responsible for securing significant income for the Warm Welcome Campaign from a variety of sources, mainly from Grant-making bodies. This will involve identifying new opportunities, managing donor relationships and producing compelling communications to promote the work of the Warm Welcome Campaign and the Good Faith Partnership. Reporting to the Development Director, you will work closely with them and other Senior Directors to maximise income potential.
We are also interested in expanding our fundraising with a focus on individual giving, community and corporate fundraising and would value your expertise in these areas.

The Role
