Impact and Insights Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to be an impact catalyst across two Youth Zone locations (Carlisle and London).

We are looking for someone who can generate support and build towards a ‘culture of impact’ in both Youth Zones, so that outcome measurement and impact reporting becomes routine and ‘every day’. 

This is a hybrid working role, with 8 onsite days per month at the Carlisle and London sites, with the remainder working from home.

Position: Impact and Insights Officer

Location: Hybrid (8 days per month across the 2 Youth Zones in Carlisle and Barnet)

Salary: £38,000 – 42,000 per annum (dependent upon experience) plus travel expenses

Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)

Contract: Fixed term contract – 2 years (due to project funding)

About the Role

You will collaborate closely with a cross section of teams within the Youth Zones, working with the Youth Work delivery teams to feed data into decision making, and with the Communications and Fundraising teams to provide impact measurement and analysis content for use with stakeholders and in donor reporting. Furthermore, it will align impact and data work with national and local policy, and use national census, health, police and other statistical data to position the four Youth Zones for new income generation opportunities.

Main responsibilities include:

• Measuring and demonstrating the charities’ impact to stakeholders
• Authoring and providing the necessary data to the leadership and fundraising teams and Board (as required)
• Annual publications such as Trustees Reports and annual Impact Reports.
• Lead on data analysis and reporting on the data held in Salesforce CRM, improving both the quality and quantity of monitoring and evaluation processes
• Driving improvements in data capture through training and upskilling the Youth Work team
• Strengthening the ability of the two Youth Zones to demonstrate the measurable impact of youth work delivered.

Innovation is a key aspect of this role, involving the introduction and embedding of new methodologies to enhance the qualitative data capture process.

About You

This role is ideal for someone who has the ability to bring technical analysis to life in a youth work setting and can communicate insights in an accessible style to different audiences. The Impact and Insights Officer should be passionate about embracing the power of youth work and be keen to support Youth Zones in evidencing the impact created with young people. It will require someone who can bring impact expertise and creativity to create buy-in and drive improvements in data capture; and someone who is keen to work flexibly and closely with teams of passionate Youth Workers and who is unafraid of the challenge presented by Youth Zones in two very different geographic locations.

Previous experience in a data analysis or similar role, including handling large datasets, using data to derive insights and data-led decision making is required for this role, along with experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau), and previous experience working with young people or in a youth work setting.

Please note, this is hybrid working role, with 8 onsite days per month at the Carlisle and London sites. You must be able to travel to these locations as part of your role.

This is an exciting time for First Give, as we have recently launched our three-year strategy and our ambition to activate the generosity of a million young people by 2034. We have also recently launched recruitment for a Fundraising Campaign Board Chair. The Campaign, A Route to A Million, aims to raise an additional £1.5 million over the next 3 years. Team Administrator

We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive and motivated administrator who would like a varied role.  The successful candidate will provide cross-departmental support and administrative support to the Director and Senior Leadership Team. Providing support to the First Give team, primarily the SLT

Overseeing and managing financial administration

About the Project

This is a five-year collaborative initiative between the Young Hammersmith & Fulham and the Young Ealing Foundation to support supplementary schools across both boroughs. The project has two main components:

1. A grants programme providing £50,000 annually (£25,000 per borough) to support supplementary schools, with an average grant of £3,000 per school.

2. A dedicated Supplementary Schools Support Officer working around 16 hours per week, who will offer practical support to schools.

The project aims to enhance the capacity and sustainability of supplementary schools, improve educational outcomes for young people from diverse communities, preserve cultural heritage and mother-tongue language education, foster a vibrant network of supplementary schools, and strengthen links between supplementary provision and mainstream education.

Young Hammersmith & Fulham is a membership charity dedicated to strengthening our borough's youth sector by supporting the charities, organisations, and professionals working with young people. Our vision is a borough where every young person can thrive, supported by a strong, connected and well-resourced youth sector. Our mission is to strengthen Hammersmith & Fulham's youth sector by supporting the charities, organisations, and professionals working with young people across the borough.

We support over 100 organisations through exclusive member-only grants, expert-led training, collaborative networks, and tailored support. We create both physical and metaphorical space for discussion and collaboration, while embedding youth voice into our decision-making through our Young Grantmakers and Youth Advisory Board.

Our membership scheme is open to everyone working with children and young people aged 0-25 in Hammersmith and Fulham, including youth clubs, charities, schools, businesses, voluntary groups, and public sector organisations. We provide dedicated one-to-one support to voluntary youth organisations with an annual income of under £50,000, and offer advice, guidance, and collaboration opportunities to all our community members.

As our communications officer, you will join our communications and marketing team. Part of our external relations division, the team play an essential role, crafting engaging communications that help achieve our mission and supporting colleagues across the charity to do the same.

This role is perfect for a creative comms professional with a passion for writing and storytelling. Through compelling and strategic communications, you’ll help raise awareness of Frontline’s mission, attract supporters, influence public perception, demonstrate our impact and promote our vital work. 

From fundraising to programme recruitment, from influencing policy to promoting our commercial offer, our work would not be possible without the impactful storytelling you will create in this role.

We aim to proactively generate more awareness of our work and its impact, including our unique position in the women’s and mental health sectors.

The role will be responsible for proactive and reactive media relations; effective engagement on social media; developing engaging content for our website; drafting copy for and producing marketing materials, including our e-newsletter. A highly autonomous role, you will work closely with our Chief Executive, fundraising, counselling, and research teams. You will also be engaging regularly with the Board of trustees, supporting our Chief Executive in our work and mission.
