Job Purpose:

This is a dynamic and developmental role designed for a candidate with at least 1 years' experience in fundraising or marketing within an arts or charitable organisation. The role is split evenly across fundraising and marketing and communications and will contribute directly to NYJO’s growth and sustainability by supporting our external affairs through income generation, audience engagement, and public profile. 

We are looking for a confident, creative and self-motivated individual who can manage their workload independently, communicate effectively with donors and audiences, and is excited to grow their skills in both fundraising and communications within a fast-moving, ambitious organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising (2 days per week)

Trusts, Foundations and Statutory Funding

• Conduct research and develop profiles on prospective trusts and statutory funders

• Draft briefing notes and maintain an up-to-date prospect pipeline

• Support grant administration: acknowledgements, processing, and internal logging

• Assist with preparation of Arts Council England reporting

• Draft small trust applications (up to £10k) with guidance from Head of Fundraising

• Help gather content, data and evidence to support medium/large bid development

• Lead the collation and drafting of funder reports  

Individual Giving & Membership

• Administer NYJO’s membership scheme (renewals, fulfilment, member queries)

• Draft and distribute the Members’ newsletter, both digital and physical

• Organise cultivation events, manage RSVPs, support logistics and attend events

• Maintain donor records on our CRM Beacon in line with GDPR policies  

• Support campaign delivery for fundraising initiatives (e.g. NYJO 60th, Big Give)

Development Support

• Coordinate fundraising proposals including content collation, layout and visuals

• Support the creation of fundraising collateral including impact case studies

• Contribute to donor communications and stewardship activity

• Assist with other tasks as required by the Head of Fundraising

  

Marketing & Communications (2 days per week) 

• Support the creation, scheduling and distribution of engaging digital content (social media, e-newsletters, blog posts) 

• Update and maintain website content related to news, projects, and events, and support with broader website updates and coordination with developers/designers  

• Create compelling visual and written content aligned with NYJO’s brand identity

• Carry out other ad hoc tasks as required in support of NYJO’s small, collaborative team environment 

Person Specification: 

Essential 

• Minimum 1 year experience in a fundraising and marketing role within an arts or charity setting 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Strong organisational and administrative skills, able to manage competing priorities 

• Confident working independently and proactively 

• Experience with content creation for social media and email platforms 

• Comfortable using CRM systems and digital tools (e.g. Beacon, Mailchimp, Canva, CMS) 

• Strong attention to detail, especially in writing and data entry 

• Enthusiastic about music, youth arts and social impact

About the role 

You’ll be working on direct marketing campaigns and leading a strategic area of fundraising, to engage and inspire people to donate. • Support the Individual Giving Manager to help set strategic objectives, monitor income and expenditure and use database analysis to inform the individual giving programme.

• Plan, create and manage direct marketing campaigns, both online and offline, and lead a strategic area of fundraising to secure donations

• Work with the Individual Giving Officers, delegating work and championing their development. There may also be an opportunity to line manage an Individual Giving Officer.

• Monitor income and expenditure budgets and use database analysis to inform and improve the direct marketing programme.

• Use digital tools to manage email and online communications.

What you’ll bring:

• Strong experience of managing Individual Giving or direct marketing activity with substantial income and expenditure budgets.

• Proven success in donor or customer acquisition and retention through direct marketing.

• Substantial experience of creating engaging and inspiring online materials in support of direct marketing campaigns. 

• Strong experience of using CMS and email platforms, ideally Marketing Cloud.

About You

You are an organised and digitally aware communications professional. You can take complex subjects and communicate about them in simple and effective ways that speak to specific audiences. You understand the importance of reporting on website and social media performance to understand USPG’s audience and to adjust and improve. You are comfortable working in a small and creative team and are confident speaking to the wider organisation. You can juggle numerous projects and deadlines at one time.  

You will demonstrate considerable cross-cultural awareness and an ability to communicate in a way that is sensitive and appropriate. You demonstrate an aptitude for collaborative teamwork and the ability to work independently on your initiative. It is expected that the postholder will be inspired by the work of USPG and in agreement with its Christian ethos and that they will be comfortable writing in a way which reflects this.

About The Role

Following a successful VE Day, we’re looking for a Remembrance Events Officer to join our team at The Royal British Legion on a fixed-term contract until December 2025. In this role, you’ll help plan and deliver key Remembrance events, including significant upcoming milestones like VJ Day. You’ll support the coordination of logistics, manage timelines, and work closely with the Remembrance Events Manager to keep everything on track. A key part of the role will also involve monitoring budgets to ensure spending is carefully tracked and reported throughout.

You will also be involved in coordinating meetings and maintaining detailed records, ensuring clear communication with both internal teams and external stakeholders. Additionally, you will work to implement necessary security measures and accreditation systems, ensuring compliance with external requirements.

You will be contracted to our London Hub, Haig House. Under our Future Working framework, there will be some flexibility for working remotely/at home, using our collaboration tools to work with colleagues, but with a minimum expectation of two days/week connecting directly face-to-face with colleagues at the hub.

We work at the grassroots level to build community capacity, create positive attitudinal change and to build more inclusive and thus resilient communities.

We are currently recruiting for an Operations Officer to lead on administrative support to the charity under the direction of the Project Manager, supporting on engagement with various stakeholders and networks. The goal of the post is to ensure that The Welcome Directory can effectively develop the reach of our work and achieve exponential growth, by maximising administrative efficiency. 

Whilst this is a 6-month contract, there is the potential to extend where funding permits.

The role will include:

Leading on operational projects, including:

• Faith community engagement
  • Processing faith/ belief community registrations and maintaining records
  • Approaching existing and prospective faith/ belief communities, including follow up to the annual survey and periodical team campaigns
• Assisting with the production of the annual physical directory
• Co-ordinating the annual Affiliates Scheme
• Researching new initiatives or solutions

Supporting events, including:

• Support in the administration of the online Prisons Awareness Course and other webinar events, including technical support
• Planning bi-annual team days and any one-off events, in consultation with the Project Manager
• Planning bi-annual team campaign periods, in consultation with the Project Manager and Monitoring & Evaluation Officer
• Preparing resources and/or PowerPoint presentations and booking logistics, in consultation with the Project Manager and the Communications & Fundraising Officer

Leading on administration, including:

• Answering phone, email, and letter enquiries
• Purchasing of supplies and dispatch of resources
• Co-ordinating and setting up meetings
• Collating routine data and creating trackers to support operations
• Creating an annual team planner
• Taking minutes at specific meetings
• Leading on team password management
• Following up with stakeholders as required

Supporting on financial operations, including:

• Processing expenses claims and issuing internal invoices
• Paying-in cheques and paying external invoices
• Maintaining the organisational asset register
• Obtaining Gift Aid declarations

As Individual Giving Officer you will be responsible for crafting compelling fundraising narratives and driving donor acquisition and retention across all channels, including direct mail, email campaigns, and social media. With an increasing focus on digital fundraising, you'll also be adept at creating reactive giving opportunities on social media platforms.

To excel in this role, you must possess excellent fundraising copywriting skills and the ability to tell stories that motivate giving. You will play a key role in engaging donors via direct mail and across various digital platforms. Excellent project management skills and an ability to work effectively with teams across the charity is essential for this role.
