Engagement Officer (Midlands & West)
We are looking for an Engagement Officer to work with members of the UK fire services community in an inhouse, face to face fundraising capacity. This role covers a region reaching from Severn Park in Avonmouth (Bristol), to Staffordshire and across the Midlands and part of Wales.
The successful candidate will ideally be located around the Birmingham area, or within the Mid / West of England, to enable frequent travel across the region to visit stations and training centres regularly.
Hours: 30 hours per month (equivalent of 6.92 hours per week)
Salary: £5,242.76 per year
Flexible working pattern to allow for planning visits (some evening or weekends required)
This role is homebased with regular travel.

The Fire Fighters Charity offers specialist, lifelong support for members of the UK fire services community, empowering individuals to achieve mental, physical and social wellbeing throughout their lives.

We are looking for an Engagement Officer who can inspire the Fire and Rescue communities to support Fire Fighters charity and the work it carries out.
The Role
Building relationships with the fire and rescue services in your area, you’ll become an integral part of the local fire services community, you'll work collaboratively with our national team of fundraisers and to help secure much-needed income for the Charity.
You will provide talks to new recruits, making them aware of the services the charity provides for them as new service users, and encourage signups to individual giving schemes. You will work with your team to maximise recruitment, re-engagement and retention of individual supporters.
With a flexible approach, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling your visits to stations, managing and maintaining personal data and recording outcomes on our Customer Relations Management (CRM) software.
You will need to be able to travel across the region, which includes: Severn Park in Avonmouth (Bristol), Staffordshire and across the Midlands and parts of Wales.
This role is subject to a Basic Disclosure and Barring Services Check.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced fundraiser to join our team. You’ll need excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences, with the ability to deliver PowerPoint Presentations in a confident, and clear manner.
You'll need good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload, and work without close supervision. You'll also need to be competent on standard Microsoft packages, have efficient time management skills and a proficient use of social media and apps.
This role requires you to be able to travel and occasionally stay away overnight.
A good knowledge of the UK Fire and Rescue Service community is beneficial, and knowledge of legal requirements relating to Fundraising and Data Protection and Information Security principles is required.

Overview of the role
As the organisation’s Head of Fundraising and Marketing, you will be an experienced, ambitious, enthusiastic, and dynamic professional, who is passionate about fundraising and maximising income generation.
Working closely with our new CEO and committed trustees and staff, you will develop and implement fundraising and marketing strategies that align to our vision and drive the expansion of our crucial support to young people in Suffolk.
You will have a thorough understanding of planning, organising, and delivering successful fundraising campaigns, initiatives, and events with a strong attention-to-detail. Main Responsibilities
1. Strategic leadership
· Develop and lead the multi-channel fundraising and marketing strategy to meet agreed income targets and support
long-term sustainability for both The Mix and 127 Trading Ltd.
· Work closely with the CEO and Trustees, to align fundraising efforts with the strategic goals of the charity and bring insight into income generation and stakeholder engagement.
· Actively contribute to the senior leadership team, shaping organisational policies and strategic direction, ensuring the integration of fundraising, marketing and operational activities.
2. Fundraising and income generation
· Drive the development of diverse income streams, including major donor fundraising, corporate partnerships, individual giving, legacies, lotteries, community fundraising and events.
· Proactively seek new opportunities to secure long-term, multi-year funding through well-targeted funding applications and corporate proposals.
· Build strong partner relationships with a focus on stewardship, retention, and growth.
· Monitor performance, analyse data, and drive continuous improvement.
· Chair the Fundraising sub-committee and contribute to the Data, Impact and Evidence Action Group
· Responsible for completion of all bids, grants and funding applications and ensuring that funders receive appropriate ongoing feedback.
3. Marketing and communications
· Develop marketing materials and campaigns that effectively communicate the charity’s mission, vision and achievements to various audiences for both The Mix and 127 Trading Ltd.
· Lead the management of digital platforms, ensuring consistent and inspiring content across all channels, including the website, social media, email and printed materials.
· Ensure that brand messaging is consistent, clear and aligned across The Mix and 127 Trading Ltd to enhance public recognition and reputation.
· Grow awareness of the charity at a local and regional level, monitoring success through market research.
· Develop compelling narratives and stories of the charity’s impact to engage partners and encourage continued support.
4. Team leadership and development
· Lead and develop the Fundraising & Marketing team, fostering a collaborative and positive culture.
· Mentor and support team members in achieving their professional development goals, ensuring they attain business objectives.
· Regularly monitor and review team performance to meet income generation and communication objectives.
5. Operational excellence
· Ensure compliance with data protection laws, fundraising regulations and ethical guidelines across all fundraising and marketing activities.
· Review and improve the use of the website and develop systems to track donor engagement, monitor income and ensure data integrity and transparency.
· Work closely with finance and operations teams to oversee the management and monitoring of fundraising targets.

We are looking for an outstanding individual to join our Development and Alumni Relations team to help guide and deliver ourregular giving and stewardship programmes. The ideal candidate will have experience of running successful major fundraising appeals to large audiences. They will have the ability to draft persuasive and accurate copy to support both fundraising and stewardship literature. The Development and Alumni Relations Office leads the process of generating long-term and consistent voluntary income for Merchant Taylors’ School, and forrunning a comprehensive alumni and parental relations programme.

At Scripture Union, we’re looking for two experienced and driven fundraisers to join our team. The fundraising team work to a target of around £2m per year, generated from a range of channels and segments. We’re looking for two more people to grow this team as we expand our mission to reveal Jesus to the younger generations in England and Wales.
About the roles
We’re looking for two fundraisers to tackle the following areas:

Individual Giving, working to maintain and grow our portfolio of donors giving between £10pa - £1,500 pa each.

Fundraising Innovation, coming up with fresh new ideas that will generate more income for the mission that take us beyond our tried and tested fundraising activities.
Between them, the two roles account for 1.8 FTE, and we’re flexible about how that’s allocated. It could be that both roles work 4.5 days a week each, or one full time and the other four days. We’re open to suggestions as we seek the right candidates for the team.
The salary for both roles will be £31,500 - £34,800 per annum for an FTE.

Individual Giving: Grow income from individual donors through the management of campaigns, regular giving and invitations to increase gifts from general individual donors and mid-level donors. Work to acquire and retain new donors and reactivate lapsed donors.

We are looking for a successful Individual Giving Manager to join our dynamic Fundraising Team. You will be developing and delivering innovative fundraising strategies to grow our individual donor base, maximise supporter retention, and expand legacy giving.

About You
We are looking for a passionate and creative individual giving fundraiser or marketeer to develop and drive forward the programme. You will have a track record of delivering against income targets and KPIs and be experienced in delivering campaigns and activities on time and within budget.
With excellent writing and communication skills, you will be able to build strong relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Manage Individual Giving Campaigns:
Help design and implement engaging individual giving campaigns across multiple channels (direct mail, digital, email, telemarketing, etc.).
Plan, manage, and execute regular giving programs, aiming to grow a sustainable donor base.
Monitor and report on campaign performance, using data to optimise and drive continuous improvement.
Recruitment of New Donors:
In conjunction with your line manager drive the recruitment of new individual donors through online and offline channels, focusing on building long-term relationships.
In conjunction with your line manager develop strategies for donor acquisition via social media, digital marketing, and fundraising events.
Create and manage lead generation initiatives to convert prospects into committed supporters.
Develop and Run Legacy Campaigns:
Design and deliver targeted legacy giving campaigns to raise awareness and increase donations through bequests and regular giving.
Ensure legacy messages are communicated effectively across different touchpoints, including online, print, and events.
Cultivate and steward legacy supporters, ensuring they feel valued and part of SANE’s vision.
Direct Marketing and Social Media:
Work closely with the Digital Marketing Team to create content for direct marketing and social media to encourage donations and engage with potential donors.
Collaborate with the Media and Communications Team to ensure that fundraising messages are compelling, on-brand, and reach the right audience.
Measure and analyse the impact of digital fundraising and social media efforts, making data-driven decisions to improve engagement.
Website and Digital Fundraising:
Work with the Digital Marketing Team to ensure the charity’s online donation platforms are optimised to drive conversions and facilitate a smooth giving experience.
Work with the Digital Marketing Team, Deputy Head of Fundraising and COO to develop strategies to integrate online donation opportunities within the website, social media, and email communications.
Donor Stewardship:
Develop and implement strategies for donor stewardship, ensuring individuals are thanked, informed, and engaged post-donation.
Maintain a regular and consistent program of communications with donors, keeping them updated on the impact of their gifts.
Identify opportunities to upgrade donors to higher giving levels and inspire loyalty.
Collaboration and Reporting:
Work closely with the Services and Media and Communications Teams to gain SANE Services statistics, case studies and up to date on general mental health information, to align individual giving efforts with broader fundraising strategies.
Provide regular reports on campaign progress, income generation, and donor acquisition metrics to the line manager.

Role Overview
This senior, hands-on role will lead our corporate fundraising, winning, growing, and stewarding strategic partnerships that deliver both income and impact. You’ll shape a clear offer for businesses (from White City Innovation District players to household names), design engaging staff experiences, and tell the story of one partnership → borough-wide impact. You’ll work closely with the CEO, trustees and colleagues in Partnerships/Grants, Impact and Comms. You’ll also have delivery resources to succeed: access to consultancy for prospect research, bid support, creative, etc., and a campaign/event budget.
Targets & Trajectory (guiding KPIs):
• Income: £75k–£125k secured within 18 months; £150k–£200k by end of year two.
• Portfolio: 15+ active corporate relationships; 95% retention.
• Pipeline: Balanced mix of local (e.g., White City Innovation District) and London-wide corporates.
• Engagement: Deliver 1–2 cultivation events/year with team and trustee involvement.
Key Responsibilities
1) New Business & Pipeline
• Build and manage a tiered prospect pipeline (e.g., Disney, Imperial College London, L’Oréal; innovation district and borough anchor institutions).
• Lead outreach, discovery, and tailored proposals for £10k–£50k+ partnerships (CIC/CSR/ESG, sponsorship, skills/volunteering, payroll giving, in-kind, cause-related marketing).
• Co-create compelling value propositions and packages (local stories + measurable outcomes + staff engagement).
• Use the consultancy budget strategically (e.g., research, copy/design, senior introductions) to accelerate conversion.
2) Account Management & Stewardship
• Provide excellent partner experience and stewardship plans; agree on KPIs/MOUs and deliverables; renew and grow multi-year partnerships.
• Design staff engagement that goes beyond volunteering: insight sessions, youth-led events, site visits, mentoring, pro-bono sprints.
• Work with Impact to evidence results (dashboards, case studies, SROI), and with Comms on brand-aligned content and events.
3) Strategy, Governance & Reporting
• Own the corporate income plan aligned to our Revenue Growth Strategy (with realistic quarterly milestones and early-warning triggers).
• Track pipeline and income on the CRM; produce quarterly RAG dashboards for the Task Force/Board.
• Uphold ethical screening and brand alignment; ensure legal/compliance and safeguarding standards are met.
4) Internal & External Collaboration
• Partner with Partnerships & Grants to align offers and avoid duplication (trusts/consortia insight sharing).
• Leverage the CEO and trustees for warm introductions; brief and support them for pitches/cultivation.
