The Supporter Relationship Manager is responsible for all individual donor support processes, systems, strategies and individual giving fundraising appeals, which ensure we have excellent relationships with our donors to retain and grow our individual giving income.

Powerful narratives, storytelling and engagement with donors is crucial to ensure that our funding need and impact is shared with supporters. 

The Supporter Relationship Manager will work with the Head of Fundraising and Deputy CEO to grow our major donor, regular giving, appeal and legacy income alongside sustaining our irregular giving and Gift Aid income.  The Supporter Relationship Manager will line manage the Fundraising Assistant (FA), which is a new entry-level fundraising role responsible for the development and day-to-day administration of our community fundraising income stream for individuals and our corporate community.

Person Specification Essential knowledge, skills and experience:

• Three years+ experience of working in a supporter care fundraising role.
• Understanding of fundraising principles, relationship marketing and supporter care.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level copy writing skills.
• Experience of working with communications staff to support multi-channel fundraising campaigns.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in shaping the future of one of the UK’s leading touring theatre companies. The Development Director will lead our fundraising strategy, building the relationships and resources that power our bold, nationally-reaching work.

As Development Director, you will work closely with the joint CEOs (Holly and Lisa) to deliver Headlong’s fundraising strategy. You will have the opportunity to develop the role and will be responsible for raising the funds to support Headlong’s mission and vision over the long-term.

You will lead on prospect research, donor cultivation, bid writing and delivering fundraising events. You will set a fundraising culture with the Board and wider staff, advocating for the power of fundraising to push Headlong into its next chapter.

This is a varied role and the successful applicant will drive our community and events fundraising. You will organise the Tour de Vale Bike Ride plus other fundraising events at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, source runners for a range of third-party events including the Great North Run and help them reach their fundraising targets, identify and develop opportunities for community groups and local companies to support the charity and lead and manage our schools fundraising programme.

We are looking for a friendly and organised individual with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets from sponsorship-based events or community fundraising along with experience of preparing activities to recruit, engage, inspire and retain supporters.

Who we are

There are nearly a million people in the UK who live with a form of dementia, and despite the progress being made in the search for a cure, it is unlikely to come quick enough to help them. For these people, what’s essential is to find the best way of living with their dementia.

‘Our Dementia Choir’ began as part of a documentary created for BBC1 in 2018. The two-part series saw acclaimed actress Vicky McClure take us on a deeply personal journey where she sets out to discover the true extent of music’s power in combatting dementia.  Vicky knows only too well the cruelness of dementia having helped care for her grandma who died in 2015.  Vicky also saw the amazing effect the music had in calming her down as well as giving glimpses of the old “Nana”. 

Today, we work with carers and volunteers to hold regular rehearsals for choir members, each living with dementia.  The Choir gives regular performances, and is involved in a range of community projects. As a leading voice on the power of music for people living with dementia in Nottingham, the Charity’s aim is to bring the power of music to other communities and organisations within the UK.

About the role

Our Dementia Choir is seeking a dynamic, compassionate, experienced CEO to lead the team supporting the choir and the charity as it moves into a new stage of development.

As an experienced CEO, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the charity, adherence to the requirements of the charity commission as well as ensuring the charity delivers on its mission and vision – ensuring operational excellence to support all choir members and their carers.

The role

As the breadth and volume of our fundraising activity has grown over the last couple of years, an opportunity has arisen for a detail orientated and enthusiastic individual to join our database team. This role will be line managed by the Database Manager, with a dotted line to the Senior Database Officer to ensure the smooth running of our income processing activity, making a significant impact for the charity, and enabling excellent supporter care.

The team

Our dynamic fundraising department are preparing for an ambitious multimillion-pound campaign in support of a ground-breaking cancer centre on the site of the Royal Free Hospital. Responsible for attracting and retaining donors, and delivering an outstanding supporter experience, the fundraising department comprises two teams which work closely together to achieve our shared objectives:

- Our Public Fundraising team harnesses the support and energy of individuals and groups, helping them to give back in the way that works for them. This includes committed giving, in memory support, gifts in wills, and fundraising events and challenges. Our Philanthropy and Campaign teams builds relationships with individual philanthropists, trusts, foundations, and corporate organisations which give, or have potential to give, £10,000 to the charity each year. The Salvation Army – Supporter Acquisition Manager x 2

Location: Hybrid working, 2 days in office, London SE5.

The Salvation Army, the UK’s leading social welfare charity, is seeking two Supporter Acquisition Managers to project manage and lead on day-to-day delivery of supporter acquisition appeals.

The Salvation Army is one of the largest, most diverse providers of social and community services after the Government. With more than 600 local centres and nearly 100 residential centres, they make a powerful difference to people across the UK who might otherwise be excluded.

Along with the Assistant Head of Individual Giving, the Supporter Acquisition Managers are  responsible for growing the organisation’s file of donors and hitting an annual Individual Giving team fundraising target of £50 million in unrestricted income. As a direct marketing subject matter expert, they will lead cold recruitment campaigns and support in identifying and delivering new products or acquisition streams. The roles will lead on planning and project managing delivery of a variety of media channels, both online and offline. Each manager will hold strategic areas of focus, be responsible for seven figure expenditure budgets and line manage a Supporter Acquisition Officer or Executive.

The successful candidates will have significant direct marketing expertise with a strong background in project managing multiple campaigns across a range of channels, ideally in a fundraising role, and with proven success at recruiting new donors.  You will have a passion for fundraising with a commercial understanding of the charity marketplace and competitors. As well as previous experience in identifying areas of innovation and devising testing plans to launch and roll out, you will also have a track record in successfully leveraging value from data collated on supporter databases, to maximise targeting and data segmentation.

Excellent numeracy and strong analytical skills will be combined with excellent written communication abilities and a good attention to detail and ability to prioritise work. Oxford Hospitals Charity is looking for a talented and creative fundraiser to lead on growing income from individuals. You will join a wider Fundraising team of eight people and play a key role in developing exciting activities; encouraging new support to grow our existing supporter base and inspire our loyal supporters to continue giving.

You will use your experience to help the charity maximise our fundraising by designing engaging and intentional multi-channel donor journeys. You will lead on making donor specific fundraising asks and delivering exemplary donor care to maximise lifetime value. You will work with colleagues to analyse past performance and trends to identify new opportunities and make data driven decisions about future strategy.
