We are working in partnership with a Richard House Children’s Hospice to secure their new Head of Fundraising. Richard House helps children and their families in East London to lead as happy a life as possible when dealing with a life-limiting health condition. From the moment a child is diagnosed with a life-limiting, life-threatening or complex health condition everything changes. These changes affect the whole family, which is why Richard House feel it is vital not only to provide care to the child but to support the whole family. As a key member of the fundraising team, you will directly support the charity’s work, as the majority of their services are funded thanks to the generosity of their supporters.

An exciting opportunity has risen for a versatile and driven Head of Fundraising. The postholder will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of the fundraising strategy, implementing the fundraising plan, overseeing the fundraising budget, and ensuring compliance with fundraising regulations. This role has strategic accountability for fundraising, but will be hands on, involving operational fundraising that delivers crucial short- and medium-term funding impact, as well as longer-term and sustainable income sources for Richard House.

This role is offered on an interim basis, but with the option to become permanent.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

• Proven fundraising experience and a sound working knowledge of the main fundraising methods and streams.
• Track record of delivery at operational business level, with the ability to impact at strategic level, including translating strategic vision into clear direction for the organisation and line reports.
• Experience of maximising fundraising effectiveness and efficiency by using and developing a CRM.
• Exposure to management of salaried staff and/or volunteers, delivering fundraising targets, and with a proven ability to recruit, train and monitor performance.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade. An innovative, and proactive leadership style, with the ability to inspire others to maximise their potential, will be essential.

The Royal School of Needlework (RSN) is the International Centre of Excellence for the Art of Hand Embroidery. Overview

The Royal School of Needlework (RSN) is seeking a highly motivated and organised Fundraising Assistant to join our team and provide administrative support for our fundraising activities. The Fundraising Assistant will play a key role in generating vital income and helping the organisation achieve its fundraising goals by assisting with donor relations, event planning, grant research, data management, and campaign coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Donor Support and Stewardship:

• Become a ‘super’ user of the CRM/database.
• Maintain donor records in the CRM/database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
• Help with the acknowledgment process, including sending thank-you letters and recognition communications to donors.
• Assist in coordinating donor communications and outreach campaigns (e.g., newsletters, appeals, and stewardship materials).

Event Support:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic fundraiser who will help develop and implement a new community fundraising strategy, and become the face of SpecialEffect in the local area – building relationships with supporters, mobilising volunteers, and working on creative fundraising initiatives that raise vital income and awareness.

We have recently invested in growing our fundraising team so that we can fund more life-changing research to increase our understanding of leukemia as a disease, and accelerate the development of kinder, more effective treatments. This includes investment to grow the public fundraising team, develop new fundraising products, recruit new supporters, and increase legacy giving through targeted campaigns. 

We are also in the process of developing our new 5-year fundraising strategy, so you will be instrumental in creating an ambitious new plan to develop a diverse and sustainable mass fundraising portfolio, covering the key areas of donor acquisition, retention, and growth, with a focus on maximising our Challenge and Community events portfolio, and increasing Legacy, In Memory and Regular giving.  You will be responsible for developing and delivering a portfolio of products to grow voluntary income, whilst leading a newly expanded and ambitious team. And you will help shape our data strategy, working with the Head of Digital and other colleagues across the organisation to develop our digital fundraising strategy; embed usage of our CRM and ensure GDPR compliance.

Role specifics & Benefits       

• Hours: Full time hours are 37.5 Monday to Friday
• Location: We are very flexible! Our hybrid working policy is a minimum of two days per month in our London office unless it’s a role requirement to be in more frequently. As well as having our own inhouse Face to Face Fundraising team, we work with circa 4 agencies who provide us with the resource to engage and inspire the public to sign up to monthly donations supporting CRUK. To date, we have generated over £120m from face-to-face fundraising third-party individual giving activity, having a huge impact for our life saving research.

As a Face-to-Face Fundraising Manager, you'll be the driving force behind delivering our ambitious fundraising targets in this area, maximising opportunities, working with a range of agencies, stakeholders and your team to deliver our outsourced face to face acquisition programme in the UK, ensuring its success day to day.

You don't need to have worked specifically in the Face-to-Face Fundraising space previously, but you will need to come with experience of managing multiple agency relationships as well as strong stakeholder management skills.

What will I be doing?

• Delivering a face to face fundraising acquisition programme via outsourced partners, in line with agreed strategy and targets.

What are you looking for?

• Relevant experience of managing agency relationships, contract management, managing performance, meeting or exceeding key performance indicators ( Face to Face agencies would be beneficial but isn't essential).

• Experience of working in a heavily regulated environment and ability to get up to speed with current fundraising regulation.

• Relevant experience of planning, delivery and analysis of end to end project activity or campaigns (fundraising or face to face would be beneficial).

• Flexible approach, with an ability to work successfully in a dynamic operating environment.

• Proactive approach to problem solving with ability to manage several projects at any one time.

Population Matters –  Director of Fundraising and Engagement

Location: Home-based with occasional travel (and a regular presence in the office).

Salary: £70k per annum, reviewed annually.

Contract: Permanent, full-time hours. 

Population Matters, the organisation shining a light on the impact our growing population is having on us and nature, is seeking a Director of Fundraising and Engagement to lead and inspire a passionate team towards achieving a global funding model that is diverse, sustainable and pioneering by 2030.

Population Matters is a small yet ambitious global organisation with a vision of a world in which our human population lives fairly and sustainability with nature and each other. With Sir David Attenborough as a patron, the charity works to campaign, inform, undertake research and do all they can to encourage an open fair-minded and constructive debate about population to achieve a better future for people and the planet. They aim to create a wave of public awareness and corresponding policy action on a growing population and unsustainable consumption.

This is an exciting time to join the organisation with a revised vision, mission and values, in conjunction with a new global strategy for 2025-2030 launched earlier in the year. 

The role of Director of Fundraising and Engagement will play a pivotal part in bringing the organisation’s five new strategic goals to life through targeted fundraising work made possible through strong relationship management, influential fundraising and engagement activity and effective partnership building with key stakeholders and donors.  Using a test and learn approach, you will develop a diverse range of donors, allies and influencers who care about the planet and who will support and amplify the charity’s work. The role will also be responsible for exploring global funding opportunities around the creation of new regional hubs and ensuring that Population Matters’ fundraising is supported by clear, compelling, positive, targeted communications.

The role will also sit on the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), working collaboratively with the CEO and other Directors to ensure the organisation delivers impact across its strategic goals.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record in successfully developing and implementing fundraising strategies or plans, including leading a high performing team, as well as experience of securing funding from international sources or experience working in an international/global context. You will also have demonstratable success in developing and/or delivering an individual giving or legacy programme as well as a philanthropy or grant-seeking function.

You will have strong relationship building skills with major donors and individual supporters, able to align their giving needs with Population Matters’ work. Excellent communication skills will be combined with a resilient and optimistic approach and the ability to work independently with professional drive. Finally you will be passionate about the vision and mission of Population Matters.

A Rocha UK is a unique Christian nature conservation charity, mobilising Christians and churches to care for the natural world. We are the UK member of the international A Rocha federation of Christian conservation charities, with sister organisations in 24 countries.  A Rocha UK has a staff of 25 and many volunteers. We run nature conservation activities on our two reserves, advise a national network of conservation partners, inspire Christians to protect nature and act on climate change through our Wild Christian scheme, and run the popular Eco Church scheme for local churches. Our modern office is designed for collaboration and is close to overground and tube stations, with its own secure cycle and parking facilities. 

Purpose of role: 

Increasing and diversifying the sources of funding for A Rocha UK’s work is key to our fundraising strategy. The Grants and Legacies Manager will play a key role identifying potential granting bodies, writing and submitting bids, and managing reporting on grants from a range of sources, including  large foundations, and Church denominations.  In doing so, they will work closely with other staff, especially the CEO, programme staff, and other members of the fundraising team. They will also manage occasional legacies and, as capacity allows, develop a proactive legacy promotion programme. The successful candidate will have previous experience securing funds from trusts, as well as excellent writing skills, an interest in the environment and an active Christian faith. The post currently reports to the CEO.

4. Exceptional relationship management skills, with the ability to engage and inspire church leaders and congregations.
5. Experience leading and developing a team, with strong coaching and mentoring abilities and ability to set clear goals, drive performance, and foster a collaborative team culture.
6. Ability to analyse fundraising performance, using data insights to refine campaigns and maximise return on investment.
7. Deep practical understanding and relationships with the Methodist Church.
