Charity People are delighted to be partnering with Acid Survivors Trust International (ASTI), a small but influential UK charity working to end acid violence and support survivors worldwide. ASTI raises awareness, influences policymakers, and amplifies survivor voices across the UK and internationally. With only two permanent staff members, this is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to meaningful cause.

About the Role

We are looking for a Marketing & Administration Assistant to provide creative and administrative support while the Communications & Marketing Manager is on maternity leave.

This is a varied, junior-level role reporting directly to the CEO, who will take the lead on communications strategy and messaging, and you will support in delivering compelling content, running day-to-day marketing activities, and keeping the office running smoothly.

The role combines creative marketing with practical administration, making it ideal for someone looking to build experience, grow professionally, and learn on the job.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the creation of impactful marketing materials, newsletters, website content, and social media posts
  • Assist with fundraising campaigns and events, ensuring consistent use of ASTI's brand and key messages
  • Develop compelling stories and content for funders, supporters, and partners
  • Monitor and report on digital engagement and campaign reach
  • Carry out office administration including answering phones, handling post and emails, and ordering supplies
  • Maintain invoice records and liaise with external accountants
  • Arrange meetings, travel, and event logistics
  • Provide administrative support to the CEO and external consultants
  • Ensure all communications with survivors and partners are handled with the utmost sensitivity and probity

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a junior-level candidate who is:

  • Creatively minded, with a strong visual sense
  • Keen to learn on the job
  • Comfortable engaging with sensitive subject matter and politically nuanced communications
  • Collaborative, personable, and happy working in-person in a small team
  • Seeking part-time work

About You

We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual with:

  • Strong organisational and coordination skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and design tools such as Canva
  • Ability to manage everyday office tasks and respond to queries professionally
  • Flexibility, sensitivity, and interpersonal skills to work with survivors and partners

Desirable skills include:

  • Experience in marketing or communications within the charity sector
  • Graphic design, photography, or video editing skills
  • Event organisation experience
  • Spanish and/or French language skills

How to Apply

Charity People is a forward thinking, inclusive organisation that actively and deliberately promotes equity, diversity and inclusion. We know organisations thrive when inclusion is at the forefront. We evidence our commitment by matching charity needs with the skills and experience of candidates irrespective of background e.g. age, disability (including hidden disabilities), gender, gender identity or gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, or sexual orientation. We do this because we believe that greater diversity leads to greater results for the charities we work with.
