Within DAE, the Foundations and Corporations team is a pan-University fundraising team focused on building and maintaining successful philanthropic relationships for the University’s priorities. This is an exciting time to join our Development and Alumni engagement team. The role of Senior Development Executive – Foundations and Corporations will support the University to establish and grow new philanthropic relationships with charitable trusts, foundations and corporations across a range of subject areas and themes, from global health and climate change, to civil society and the role of AI. Funding secured will support capital projects, academic posts, innovative research and enable talented students to undertake further studies at Oxford. To achieve this, you will have the support of excellent colleagues across DAE as well as wider academic, departmental and professional service staff at Oxford.
About you
You are an experienced philanthropic fundraiser with a strong track record of securing major gifts, a confident approach and the ability to think creatively. Your ability to build rapport and relationships swiftly will enable you to lead on major gift fundraising (securing donations of £500k-£1m+), working with a range of donors (corporates, trusts and foundations). Your ability to establish credibility and foster trust across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders will be key to your success. Your strong experience of building philanthropic partnerships with organisation donors will be key. Experience of work in higher education is desirable. Above all, you will share Oxford’s mission and be driven to create meaningful impact through philanthropy.

Thanks for taking the time to explore the role of Trusts Fundraising Manager at the Family Holiday Charity. The role is becoming vacant as our current Trusts Fundraiser is taking early retirement. We’re super happy for her. But it means time for change! So, we're looking for a new colleague to join us and build forward from all the hard work that she’s put in!
This role is a critical one in our fundraising plans - raising around £300k annually, with pipeline potential for more as you unlock partnership working and programme development across the organisation.
You’ll need to be a bit of an all-rounder - researching and keeping pipelines updated, eccure gifts and donations, consider applications, adapt data and information and inspire with your words, reporting on progress and income. Add a dash of strategic thinking as we develop programmes and look for new funding support to achieve that. We currently raise about £200k (with about ¾ of that as secure as any pipeline can be) but have a budget target of £100k to raise from partnership working and programme development with others in the team. There’s a lot of potential in this area!
The trusts environment is, quite frankly, a bit bonkers so we know that this won't appear on paper to be the easiest role in the world. You’re going to need grit and tenacity as well as all the other skills a good trust fundraiser needs. But we’re a great team, going great things and in a fantastic position to build forward from our existing strong position in Trusts.
We’re a small but flexible team - just like our approach to work. This is a hybrid role, and you’ll need to show your face in the office periodically (for things with a purpose, not just for the sake of it!). I’m open to suggestions on job share or other flexible ways of working so just get in touch and ask.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE POST

MAIN DUTIES
Donor Cultivation and Relationship Management
- Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with new and existing supporters through personalised engagement strategies informed by the Head of Development
- Represent the School at meetings, events, presentations and functions to cultivate connections with prospective donors
- Collaborate with senior leadership and the Donor Relations Team to ensure high-level donors are onboarded seamlessly and receive tailored stewardship and recognition.
Strategic Fundraising Planning
- Develop and implement strategies to attract new major donors, aligning with the School’s fundraising priorities for UK in-year activity, as well as USA and Asia development
- Work with senior leadership to set fundraising targets, track progress, and report on performance across each giving level prioritising annual donations of £50k+ per annum.
Proposal Preparation
- Collaborate with content, communications and marketing team colleagues to create compelling materials that articulate the School’s mission and strategic priorities
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives to engage, cultivate and convert prospective supporters.
Prospect Research and Identification
- Maintain and update the active prospects pipeline, ensuring all opportunities are tracked and appropriately prioritized with touchpoints and assigned relationship leads
- Contribute to the invitations tracker to ensure all prospects are engaged with in a systemised and relevant way according to location, interest, propensity to give.
Monitoring, Reporting, and Analysis
- Maintain accurate records of donor engagement and interactions in the CRM system improving and refining systems and processes as part of a growing department
- Monitor progress against fundraising targets, providing regular reports and insights to senior leadership on pipeline value from identification to stewardship stages
- Analyse donor trends, sector insights and curate feedback to refine engagement strategies.
Team Collaboration and Leadership
- Work closely with colleagues across Development and the Senior Leadership Team as well as Artistic and Academic staff to refine the propositions and align fundraising priorities
- Host year-round events with the Development Team to enable all prospect engagement
- Mentor and support junior staff involved in development activities where appropriate.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience in donor cultivation and relationship management - Demonstrated success in building and sustaining 5 and 6 figure annual relationships with major donors and key stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and project management skills - Capacity to manage multiple donor relationships, events/projects, and fundraising initiatives simultaneously, while maintaining attention to detail in a dynamic office environment.
- Strong strategic fundraising expertise - Ability to design, implement, and evaluate fundraising strategies that align with institutional priorities and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Skilled at engaging and influencing diverse audiences through persuasive written and verbal communication, including at senior levels.
- Proficiency in proposal and campaign development - Experience preparing compelling fundraising proposals, campaign materials, and event strategies that inspire donor support.
- Analytical and reporting skills - Ability to monitor, interpret, and report on fundraising performance, donor trends, and engagement metrics using CRM and data analysis tools.
- Collaborative teamwork - Proven ability to work effectively across departments and with senior leadership, collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals.

We’re looking for a Senior Face to Face (F2F) Fundraising Manager to join our Face to Face Fundraising team. This is a fantastic opportunity within the RNLI to play a vital role in developing and growing the RNLI in-house F2F Fundraising team to reach the ambitious targets we have ahead. This role manages a team of F2F Managers who each lead a team of F2F fundraisers signing up regular supporters within a defined geographical area and raise vital long-term funding for the charity, as well as delivering lifesaving water safety messaging. The role is part of the F2F Senior Management Team, supporting the team’s development through leading projects that drive forwards team performance.
Your role
As a Senior F2F Fundraising Manager, you will be tasked with focus on the following areas:
- Recruit, train and manage a geographically diverse group of direct reports. Develop and motivate direct reports to deliver key messages, campaigns and products within the F2F strategy.
- As a senior manager in the F2F fundraising team (200+ staff), continue to develop and maintain a positive high-performing culture to ensure the team are performing at their best and developing. Drive continuous improvement across all KPIs.
- Construct and monitor financial and performance reports to ensure budget & KPIs are met, reforecasting where necessary.
- Develop a positive safety culture by identifying and managing risks to health and safety and safeguarding.
- Oversee compliance & complaints to ensure RNLI F2F fundraising adheres to best practice.
- Lead the delivery of selected team projects from initiation to completion, working with colleagues both within the F2F team and the wider organisation to provide the plans, processes and tools needed for the team to achieve their objectives. Develop solid relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders across the UK and Ireland.
About you
Leading a frontline team, you’ll have excellent communication skills and people management capabilities, with a proven track record of achieving fundraising targets. You will be a strategic thinker, with the ability to use your networks to ensure that plans are executed well and future opportunities are maximised to drive both the volume and value of new supporters.
You’ll be a role model to others, displaying behaviours that inspire respect. You’ll look after your people so they in turn can look after our donors, by displaying a passion to lead, manage and motivate a diverse team who engage with the public. You’ll be positive, confident, determined resilient and naturally outgoing. You’ll be a self-starter who can lead an energetic and innovative team to success.
You’ll be a team player with a pragmatic and solution-focused approach to problem solving and a calm attitude to prioritising a busy workload. Your strengths in planning and critical thinking will help you strike the balance between taking calculated risks where required and maintaining compliance to policies and sector regulations.
You’ll be flexible and prepared to work out-of-office hours with travel throughout the year. Substantial annual leave during the summer would not be practical for this role. This post requires a valid driving licence.
To be considered as the Senior F2F Fundraising Manager, you will need:
- Proven experience and success in leading a remote face-to-face fundraising team. This will either have been gained working for a charity or a fundraising agency
