We’re seeking a Business Support Officer to play a central role in our small, collaborative team. You’ll support governance, finance and communications while developing a broad skill set in a charity that protects one of London’s most distinctive neighbourhoods.

The Hampstead Garden Suburb Trust safeguards one of the capital’s most remarkable places - an internationally important example of early 20th-century town planning and architecture. Our work balances heritage conservation with the needs of modern life, helping residents care for their homes and green spaces while preserving the Suburb’s special character.

This is a varied role at the centre of the Trust’s daily operations. You’ll be the first point of contact for residents and stakeholders, keep our records and systems accurate, prepare papers and minutes for trustee meetings, support communications (including social media), and help ensure the office runs smoothly. • Acting as the first point of contact for residents and stakeholders, responding promptly and courteously

• Sharing data with external accountants and assisting with reconciliations

We’re looking for a Senior STH Practitioner who can manage the delivery of high quality and effective Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (STH) programmes in London for adults and young people with a range of disabilities and health conditions.

We’re looking for candidates who have proven experience of managing a team and an understanding of how STH programmes can benefit individuals and improve lives.  We need someone with horticultural knowledge and experience to plan the seasonal horticultural resources required for our programs and delivery spaces.

Based at Thrive’s London centre in Battersea Park. Some days will be spent at outreach centres within London, requiring some travel. The role will involve occasional travel to the Thrive Centres in Reading and Birmingham.

The Role

As Chief Financial Officer, you will lead the financial strategy and operations of LTM, ensuring robust financial management, governance, and performance. This is a pivotal role on the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), reporting directly to the Director and attending all Board meetings. You will also deputise for the Director when required.

This role goes beyond traditional finance leadership. You will be a moderniser—driving transformation, leading negotiations, overseeing broader business support functions, and contribute to LTM50, including capital programme oversight. You will be the face of financial and business systems at LTM, helping to deliver a future-fit museum aligned with our strategic vision.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and management of LTM’s overall budget, ensuring financial sustainability across short, medium, and long-term goals
• Oversee all aspects of financial control, governance, reporting, and compliance with statutory, charity, and TfL requirements
• Deliver timely and accurate statutory accounts, budgets, forecasts, and management reports
• Lead business support functions and liaise with TfL departments including HR, Procurement, Reward, Tech and Data and Finance
• Provide strategic financial advice to the Board of Trustees, SLT, and wider teams
• Represent LTM in financial negotiations with external partners and suppliers
• Champion a high-performing, inclusive finance team—setting clear goals, recognising success, and modelling LTM’s values
• Collaborate closely with TfL Finance to ensure alignment and efficiency
• Ensure all financial and legal obligations are met and policies are up to date and followed

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with a proven track record in senior finance leadership roles within complex organisations, and will be able to demonstrate:

• Experience at Board level and ability to work in collaboration with Trustees and colleagues;
• Understanding and experience of strategic risk management, finance audit and internal controls;
• Broad operational knowledge including digital transformation, estates, and HR;
• Experience navigating challenging financial climates and driving efficiencies.

Approved Premises (APs) work with high-risk people released from prison, providing a vital element in public protection arrangements. APs offer a level of contact, support and supervision within the community that is unique within the Criminal Justice System. This is an opportunity to be part of a dedicated, enthusiastic staff team at our male Approved Premises in Battersea, playing a key role in pro-social modelling, rehabilitation and community reintegration for those ready to make positive choices.

Working closely with Probation Officers and other community services such as police, health, housing and substance misuse, we provide a stepping stone from prison into the community.

As a member of the Approved Premises team, you will model pro-social behavior and foster a positive, respectful culture with both clients and colleagues. You will actively engage with residents, supporting communal activities such as meal preparation, and contribute to the delivery of individual sentence plans in collaboration with probation officers, police, and external agencies.

Your role will involve providing administrative and practical support, ensuring daily tasks are completed, and following all operational protocols. You will encourage compliance and enforce rules relating to curfews and drug and alcohol testing as required. Keeping colleagues, multi-agency partners, and management informed is essential.

You will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the health, safety, security, cleanliness, and well-being of the premises and residents, utilizing tools such as CCTV, observation, and direct personal contact. Accurate, timely record-keeping and appropriate information sharing with respect for confidentiality are critical components of this role.

Using your initiative, you will identify and address additional tasks or emerging issues, working within the service to maintain an enabling environment. Adherence to the Approved Premises Manual, Hestia policies, and relevant justice service requirements is expected, alongside consistently demonstrating The Hestia Approach.

This role involves working closely with high-risk offenders transitioning from prison to community life, providing a unique level of daily support, supervision, and tailored interventions. You will empower residents to take responsibility for themselves while maintaining appropriate boundaries and supervision. The position operates on a rolling rota covering early, late, weekend, and night shifts to ensure continuous support and public protection.

The Role

As a Fundraising Officer, you will lead on all individual giving activity. You will manage our two annual appeals through a mix of email and direct mail, as well as the supporter journeys for all new and existing individual giving supporters.

You’ll help the Corporate Volunteering team with the administration and development of our Corporate Volunteering pipelines.

Additionally, you will:

• Develop the Marketing Plan for individual campaigns with all stakeholders, to meet agreed objectives
• Review artwork and edit copy to ensure it meets both campaign objectives and The Royal Parks brand guidelines
• Ensure best value for money for campaign production and prepare detailed campaign management reports
• Ensure that all supporters are adequately thanked and receiving the best supporter experience
• Manage and steward relationships with existing corporate volunteering partners

About You

To be considered as a Fundraising Officer, you will need:

• Fundraising experience, ideally in a small to medium-sized charity
• Experience of, or that would be transferable to, handling sensitive conversations with people who have been bereaved with empathy and tact
• Excellent administrative skills with the ability to accurately maintain large quantities of data
• Excellent writing skills
• Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills

You will lead and coordinate meetings, this will include scheduling, agenda preparation, minute-taking, and follow-ups. You will manage statutory filings and compliance processes with Companies House, Charity Commission, and other regulators. You will maintain accurate governance records, policies, and filing systems in line with GDPR and audit requirements. You will support onboarding, training, and governance advice for Trustees, Directors, and Council members. You will oversee and improve governance frameworks, ensuring consistent templates, systems, and best practice. You will provide support with health and safety governance, risk registers, and insurance renewals in collaboration with internal teams. You will play a key role in coordinating governance reviews, policy updates, and supporting continuous improvement across governance and compliance functions.
 
You will be educated to degree level or have equivalent professional experience. You will have a governance, legal, company secretarial, or compliance-related qualification (e.g. ICSA/CGI). You will have relevant knowledge of company and/or charity law, GDPR, and ESG reporting.
 
You will have proven experience supporting Boards and Committees, in either the commercial or not for profit sectors. You will have a strong understanding of governance and statutory compliance requirements (Companies House and Charity Commission).
 
You will have experience of coordinating board papers, preparing agendas, and minute-taking. You will have the ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion. You will have experience liaising with auditors, brokers, and external stakeholders including Board members, directors and trustees. You will have some experience supporting policy development and governance training initiatives. You will also have excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
 
Desirably, you will be proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM database, and document management.
