About the role:
Kinship is in our third year of delivering the first national peer support service for kinship carers in England. We are looking for a new Associate Director of Peer Support and Community to build and develop our model and to take the team to the next phase of growth and impact.
Your first priority will be to oversee delivery of the Department for Education national Peer Support Service contract in England. You will lead the development of our hub and spoke model, with an enhanced offer of national resources and support together with a continued focus on on-the-ground support for kinship carers to set up and sustain a network of peer support groups. You will ensure all members of the team have clarity and are empowered to meet new targets and ways of working.
The role will also lead on the strategic development of peer support approaches in Wales (for which we are seeking funding), ensuring innovation and good practice is shared across the nations.
Kinship peer support groups are powerful levers for change in local, regional and national ecosystems. Your team will ensure that every kinship carer in England and Wales has access to a peer support group, or support to set up and create their own. The team will be purposeful about offering developmental support to all kinship peer support groups, including independent groups, ensuring they remain or become sustainable. And that they have resources, training and peer networks to support this.
Reflecting our strategic focus on developing our Kinship Community of more than 10,000 kinship carers across England and Wales, you will lead a new community strategy, co-ordinating the development of opportunities for community connection and community power. This will include taking leadership for developing the Kinship model of community engagement and integrating across all our ‘in person’ and digital services and activities.
You will ensure a collaborative approach with services, alignment with national and local campaigning activity, and work closely with marketing and communications colleagues to support kinship carer reach and engagement with our community offer.
We’re taking an integrated approach to our services, so you’ll collaborate well across teams to ensure that support groups and their leaders have easy access to high quality advice, information and training. The team will need to work closely with colleagues delivering our new training and support contract, funded by the Department for Education.
Key responsibilities include:
- Innovation of the Peer Support Service.

Develop and rollout peer support and community strategy and operational plan.

Implement monitoring and evaluation and impact tools for timely and accurate reporting of activity and engagement.

Work with the Development team to develop proposals for the community and peer support which are ready for fundraising and business development.
Essential requirements include:

Substantial experience in scaling a national service or programme with high quality outputs. This includes overseeing delivery, strategic planning, budgeting, managing delivery, meeting KPIs, stakeholder engagement and reporting to funders.

Experience of governance and managing risk on high profile service delivery.

Experience of effective budget management.

Significant experience of leading the development and delivery of peer support services.

The Role
As our Head of Finance, you will actively lead on the management of all aspects of the finance function to include;
· The production of interim and annual financial statements that comply with the requirements of the Charities SORP (FRS 102).

About You
To be considered as our Head of Finance, you will need:
· To be a qualified accountant with at least five years’ relevant experience

Role Requirements
STL1 – Provide support for Learning Activities set by Classteacher & Senior Specialist Teaching Assistant
- To support learning activities for individual, groups or whole classes of pupils, leading activities under the direction of the teacher or Senior Teaching Assistant supporting the teacher in their delivery of lessons.
- To demonstrate our School Ethos and Pupil Charter throughout the School day.
- Holistically integrate education, health and care needs.
- Evaluate and record procedures for learning activities.
- To know individual learning targets for each pupil in the group(s) and take specific action to enable individual pupil goals be achieved.

STL 2 – Support Children’s Development
- Observe pupils, sharing observational findings, contribute to the implementation of activities to support development.
- Actively contribute towards record-keeping particularly in respect of pupil learning, therapeutic interventions, behaviour management, child protection and any other specific programme set up for individual pupils by the teacher / Senior Specialist Teaching Assistant / Therapist.
STL 3 – Help to keep Children Safe
- Undertake annual safeguarding training.
- Adhere to the school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures and policies. Recording incidents pertaining to pupil safety, including for illness, accidents and incidents, accepting that Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and that ‘it could happen here’.

- Work with individuals to identify the effectiveness of the therapy sessions on their health and social well-being.
- Check observations with appropriate people and against agreed outcomes.
- Identify any issues or problems in relation to the therapy sessions and work with individuals, key people and others to identify and agree changes to the therapy sessions.

The Young People Programme Manager will work with the Creative Learning team at Factory International to develop, deliver and manage programmes of work with young people between the ages of 14 and 30. This role will be responsible for the delivery of key strategic partnerships with commercial brands, as well as developing new streams of work with a focus on sharing power through curatorial programme decision making, programming and youth governance.
Creative Learning develop and deliver learning programs with young people and children from Cradle to Creative (the age of 0 through to 30) with a focus on underrepresented children, young people and artists. All of our programmes have a social and emotional learning outcome and focus on improving mental health, wellbeing and resilience. Learning programmes are linked to Factory International artistic commissions with wider curatorial themes drawn out to align with social and emotional frameworks.

- Develop and deliver innovative, ambitious and transformational programmes for young people with a focus on wellbeing, mental health, and social/emotional learning

Summary of Job Purpose
The Business and Operations Lead plays a vital role in managing and developing the operational business functions of the organisation and supporting its charitable aims; working closely with the CEO to deliver and improve the organisation’s strategic planning, operational delivery, and budgeting/ finance processes. The postholder plays a vital role in ensuring that the day-to-day operations of the iHV run smoothly, with key functions:
- Leading iHV business and financial management, including accounting, budgeting, reporting, strategic planning and risk management.

Key areas of responsibility:
Business and financial management:
- Maintain and develop robust quality assurance processes for income and expenditure, working with our CEO and accountants, to ensure all financial and reputational risks are effectively managed.
- Ensure effective financial processes across the iHV, with systems in place for invoicing, managing iHV payments and standing orders, and chasing outstanding payments and debtors.
- Build departmental budgets, supporting leads with forecasting, budget tracking, monthly monitoring (management accounts are produced by our independent accountants) to inform workforce planning.
- Work with department leads to prepare budgets for tenders and project/ research grant applications, including determining when VAT is applicable.
- Process invoices, iHV card payments, direct debits, standing orders, expense claims forms and ordering of office supplies, with support from the Corporate Team Administrator.
- Support leads to manage contracting, invoicing and reporting to external funders in accordance with funder requirements. Ensure all new funding streams and other costs are accurately recorded by the accountants.
- Ensure management of the corporate member joiners to the organisation, including invoicing and setting up a process for re-invoicing.
- Work closely with the external accountants to provide information on monthly suspense, debtors, mis-postings and general queries in relation to iHV finance. Ensure the iHV’s reconciliation and remittance records are updated weekly.

Operational Management and Governance:

Information Technology

- Liaise and schedule work to be undertaken under external IT support contract.

Human Resources
- Management of our Emsworth office with line management responsibility for a small number of designated staff in the corporate team who support business management (currently the Corporate Team Administrator), supporting the delivery of team objectives within the iHV Business Plan.
- Support, motivate and develop staff, managing direct reports’ annual performance development review (PDR) and performance management, if required.
- Work closely with the Head of HR to make sure that good employment practices are universally embedded operationally within the iHV.

Short description of role:
As the Head of the Professional Conduct, your role entails managing and overseeing all functions of the committee and its associated panels or boards within the institution. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that these entities collectively meet their obligations to the institution's Trustee Board efficiently and effectively.
As the Manager of the Professional Conduct Department, you'll:
- Handle complex inquiries about professional conduct from members and others, following the Institution's rules closely.
- Supervise the complaints process, providing expertise and advice when decisions need to be made.
- Oversee the Professional Conduct Manager's administrative duties for the Committee.
- Manage the Disciplinary Board and its legal team, arranging training when needed.
- Stay updated on disciplinary law and best practices, suggesting changes to rules and guidance.
- Share updates and guidance on professional conduct matters with members through various channels.
- Handle appeals related to Committee and Board decisions.
- Deal with misrepresentations of membership and titles, reporting to the Committee.
- Provide oversight and advice on complaints procedures for the Structural Engineers Registration Ltd and approved certifiers.
- Manage the licensing of the Institution logo, addressing any misuse.
- Manage the Expert Witness register.
In addition, you'll:
- Manage and support your team, addressing any performance issues and fostering a positive work environment.
- Network and build relationships within the industry, staying updated on developments.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and systems within the Institution.
- Adhere to all Institution policies and procedures.
You'll collaborate closely with panel and committee members, all Institution employees, and external stakeholders such as the public, other organisations, and legal professionals.
Key requirements and experience:
- Supporting committee members by taking minutes, proofreading documents, ideally in a chartered membership organisation or similar setting.
- Assisting committees and panels in developing, implementing, and applying clear and consistent policies and procedures to ensure high-quality decisions and continuous improvement, with a comprehensive audit trail.
- Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory guidance, providing consistent and appropriate advice in line with established policies and procedures.
- Leading and managing a professional conduct and disciplinary function, collaborating with committees to investigate allegations of professional misconduct.
- Working with volunteers, recruiting chairpersons and panel members, and coordinating elections.
- Writing reports and producing summaries/communications for senior-level consideration.
- Drafting guidance documents and reviewing codes of conduct for publication and formal communications.
- Proficiency in drafting clear, concise, and professional responses to inquiries, complaints, and disciplinary matters.
- Experience in collaborating with internal or external legal teams to ensure compliance with legal requirements and best practices.
- Expertise in handling member complaints related to professional conduct violations, ethical breaches, or other issues.
- Experience of managing at least one direct report
The successful candidate for the Head of Professional Conduct role should possess strong communication and writing skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with legal teams, extensive experience in managing disciplinary and appeals processes, and proficiency in handling member complaints with fairness and integrity. Must have experience within a membership organisation or similar.
