Office base Liverpool Street/Moorgate – Commonweal operates a flexible hybrid working policy requiring staff to attend the office base at least 2 days per week, one of which is our Tuesday anchor day when all staff are in the office.

Commonweal is an independent charity, with a small core staff team of 9, overseen by a voluntary Board of Trustees, working to investigate, pilot and champion housing based solutions to social injustice.  Using our charitable resources, we provide experts and partner organisations with the opportunity to trial and test new approaches designed to enhance housing equality and justice. Independently evaluating each of our projects we share our experiences, using this learning to inspire new thinking. Through the replication of what works and the lessons from what doesn’t, we influence changes in policy and practice.  In addition, we commission other research identifying and spotlighting new areas of housing injustice. 

We are seeking an Office Manager to lead and deliver the core administration that underpins our charity’s work. This new role brings together governance admin, property record management, and oversight of our office systems and environment.

As Office Manager, you will:

• Provide high-quality governance support to our Board of Trustees, including scheduling meetings, collating agendas, circulating board packs, and taking minutes.

• Manage the administration of our property portfolio, ensuring leases, rent review dates, compliance certificates and other legal documentation are accurate and up to date.

• Oversee the smooth running of our office, including IT and supplier contracts, health & safety compliance, and ensuring staff have the systems and equipment they need.

• Act as the first point of contact for general enquiries and provide reliable admin support to the CEO, DCEO and wider team.

We are looking for someone with:

• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Experience of managing an office in the charity or not for profit sectors
• Experience of supporting Boards or committees, including minute-taking.
• Knowledge of property/lease administration, or a willingness to developed this.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence managing suppliers and contractors, with a pro-active approach to problem solving.

Role Overview: Knowledge in grant-funding, capacity building, organisational support

We are seeking a proactive and collaborative Charity Support Officer to help deliver AWN’s mission. You will be the first point of contact for grassroots charities, supporting them to strengthen their organisations and improve their chances of securing grant funding by offering practical guidance, signposting, and building trusted relationships that help them grow in confidence and resilience. The role includes helping organisations strengthen governance and compliance, sharing information on grant-funding opportunities, and supporting them to identify challenges and develop practical solutions.
 
The non-profits you will support work across a wide range of areas for example: women, health and wellbeing, youth, homelessness and poverty, family services, sports, faith groups, crime and gangs, prisoners and ex-offenders, refugees and asylum seekers, drug addiction, older people and rehabilitation, and many more. 
 
Bringing a strong awareness of the barriers facing small charities particularly Muslim-led groups, will be key to helping them build long-term sustainability and impact. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the first point of contact for charities and community groups, managing a varied caseload and balancing priorities. 

• Carry out needs assessments to understand organisations strengths, challenges, and funding needs, and develop clear action plans. 

• Provide tailored support, including health checks on governance, compliance, finances, and funding readiness, offering recommendations and signposting to specialist services (e.g., Cranfield Trust, CVS, Charity Excellence etc). 

• Advise on funding opportunities, strategy, and application readiness, with referrals to bid-writing support where needed. 

• Deliver workshops, webinars, events, and one-to-one sessions to build skills, knowledge, and confidence of UK grassroots organisations. 

• Work collaboratively with organisations and AWN colleagues (including via the triage and referral system) to identify challenges and develop practical, sustainable solutions. 

• Build and maintain strong relationships with charities, funders, and sector partners across the voluntary, public, and charity sectors. 

• Represent AWN at external events, conferences, and meetings, helping to organise and deliver events linked to your work. 

• Keep accurate records on the CRM, gather feedback, write case studies, and contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and service development.

As administrator and Clerk, you will be responsible for providing secretarial, clerical and administrative support to the Gospel Oak Youth Action Link Youth Club (GOALYC) board, including diary management and responding to letters and emails. The post holder will also provide support on matters of governance, finance, and policies, recruitment of trustees, and liaising with QCCA staff. The post holder will be working closely with youth services managers and the wider team, providing support to develop reports for the board.  The post holder will be asked to visit several facilities and off-site events to make observations and ensure services delivered by the team are up to a high standard. The post holder will work with the Chair of the board and the QCCA CEO on planning, reviewing, organising, researching, implementing procedures and preparing reports. The post holder will have access to confidential information, requiring absolute discretion at all times.

As the Volunteering Officer (Employability) for Imperial Health Charity, you will work in partnership with our NHS Trust to utilise opportunities through volunteering to enhance 
the employability prospects of people living in the local community. 

You will provide the administrative backbone of the team, ensuring that everything is well 
organised and coordinated to provide the best possible experience for everyone who engages with us. Day to day you will manage systems which support how we work and relationships with people, establishing links with volunteers, hospital staff and contacts from within our local communities.

You will work with the Volunteering Manager as a team to ensure that our volunteering opportunities provide mutual benefit to the volunteer and to our beneficiaries.
