We have an exciting opportunity for an Accommodation Advocate working within our Bolton safehouses supporting male survivors of modern day slavery. This role includes providing service users with emotional and practical support; advocating on their behalf, communicating with other organisations including but not limited to health professionals, legal representation and the Home office. Please note there is an occupational requirement for the applicant to be male. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Case working service users identified as PVOHT (Potential Victims of Human Trafficking).
• Regular feedback and review meetings with Accommodation Coordinator.
• Arranging and attending appointments with Service users including families.
• Following up all the paperwork and details of VOHT in adherence to the terms of the contract; including online reporting. Including but not limited to; weekly reviews, risk assessments, support plans and inductions.
• Duties in relation to the accommodation, including cleaning and preparing service user bedrooms for new arrivals and basic H&S checks.
• Ensuring that volunteers who work with you on shift have the proper level of support and adhere to policies and procedures.

About the role:

This role is based in Rochdale Police station along with some hybrid working, you must be prepared to travel across the borough of Rochdale.

As a CYP IDVA you will deliver specialist and enhanced support to Children and Young People aged 4-17 who have experienced Domestic Violence Abuse in the home. You will be responsible for providing high quality interventions to children & young people affected by DVA through the development of individually tailored & risk assessed support and safety plans. You will offer support through one-to-one sessions to address issues of self-esteem, manage emotions and feelings of blame and responsibility with the aim to improve understanding of abusive behaviour, healthy relationships and conflict resolution.

You will need:

To conduct comprehensive needs and risk assessments and ensure each CYP receives an individual tailored support package that fully meets their identified needs, including safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.

To advocate on behalf of children and young people with experience of domestic abuse to ensure the diverse needs of children and young people using the service are met.

Provide one to one support to children and young people living in families affected by domestic abuse.

The ability to review the assessment of risk on an ongoing basis, ensuring appropriate and immediate action is taken in respect of any CYP facing significant harm, making the necessary referrals to MARAC and local safeguarding processes as required given the legal framework relating to the protection of children and the policy and procedures of the Local Safeguarding Children's Board.

To establish links with relevant statutory partners in Social Care, Education, Health, Police and Housing, with the intention of supporting children and young people who have been impacted by domestic abuse. Attend meetings as required.

Ideally a background in Social Worker, Domestic Abuse or Children & Young People services would be advantageous.

The post holder will be supporting the Project Coordinator to deliver the My Health Matters project in Salford. You will facilitate the delivery of the Homeless Health Peer Advocacy by coordinating a team of lived experience peer advocates to deliver 1-2-1 advocacy style support to those experiencing homelessness in Salford. You will help to recruit and train volunteers and support them with their progression goals. The role includes case management of My Health Matters clients including managing referrals, quality assuring support work and coordinating the project’s drop-in network. The post will be based in our office at Swan St but will require travel across Greater Manchester with special focus in and around the Salford area. In addition, occasional travel to other cities including possible overnights may be required.

You understand the barriers to accessing healthcare faced by people who are experiencing homelessness and can form professional relationships with peer advocates and Homeless Health Peer Advocacy clients, all the while following relevant guidance and safeguarding procedures.

What you will do:

• Work as part of a team providing suicide prevention support to a range of clients via multichannel communication platforms. 
• Work on a 7-day shift system including evening and weekends
• Use professional judgement to assess the needs of the service users who present with risk to life and manage and report any matters related to safeguarding.
• Maintain accurate records and input data monitoring into the data base system.
• Participate in clinical supervision and reflective practise.
