Fuel Bank – Triage Support Advisor

Location – Remote based role with occasional travel to the Midlands for team meetings & training.

Hours – Part & Full Time Positions. F/T – 37.5 hours Monday to Friday. P/T 18.5 hours flexible Monday to Friday to suit the needs of the charity and individual’s work life balance.

Fuel Bank Foundation is the only UK charity to focus on the challenges of people living in fuel crisis. We provide emergency financial support through our network of partners who identify people who cannot afford to pre-pay for their energy.

As Triage Support Adviser at Fuel Bank Foundation, you will be the first point of contact for beneficiaries, partners, or referral agencies seeking assistance. Your primary responsibility will be to assess needs, gather essential information, and direct each query to the appropriate team or resource. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring that those in need receive timely and accurate support, helping maintain smooth day-to-day operations within the Foundation’s support services.

Key Responsibilities

Initial Contact & Needs Assessment

• Inbound Enquiries: Respond to incoming calls, emails, or online requests, providing a welcoming and empathetic first point of contact.
• Information Gathering: Ask relevant questions to understand the nature of each enquiry—whether a client needs immediate fuel assistance, advice, or referral to another service.
• Basic Eligibility Checks: Perform preliminary assessments to confirm a caller’s eligibility or direct them to the right partner agencies.

Triage & Referral

• Case Prioritisation: Quickly identify urgent cases (e.g., no heating supply, extreme vulnerability) and escalate them as needed to senior colleagues or specialized services.
• Routing Calls/Emails: Forward complex queries or those requiring in-depth guidance to the appropriate department (e.g., Customer Support, Policy & Impact, Finance for voucher-related questions).
• Follow-Up Coordination: Log essential details for each interaction, ensuring smooth handovers and timely follow-up by the relevant team member.

Data Entry & Record Keeping

• Database Management: Accurately input beneficiary information into the Foundation’s CRM or case-management system, maintaining up-to-date records in line with data protection policies.
• Documentation: Keep clear notes on calls, emails, and web form submissions, tagging them with relevant categories (e.g., urgent, general enquiry, advice request).
• Reporting: Support team leads by generating basic reports or summaries on enquiry volumes, types of requests, or common issues.

Communication & Collaboration

• Liaise with Colleagues: Update other teams or managers about trends in call types or emerging issues that might require policy changes or additional resources.
• Team Support: Assist in scheduling, task delegation, or administrative tasks when needed, contributing to a well-coordinated triage function.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Occasionally interact with partner organisations, local agencies, or other charities to exchange referral information or confirm assistance protocols.

Quality & Compliance

• Adherence to Policies: Follow all internal guidelines, including safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection (GDPR).
• Continuous Improvement: Identify recurring enquiry patterns or potential service gaps, suggesting improvements to triage processes.
• Professional Development: Stay informed about any updates in the charity’s programs, fuel poverty regulations, or relevant partner services.

Your Focus

• Lead Relationship Manager for a growing group of high-value donors and prospects, serving as their key point of contact within the College.
• Design and implement bespoke stewardship strategies that engage, inspire and recognise major donors—ensuring they feel a deep, personal connection to Queen’s.
• Take ownership of the Taberdars’ Society, the College’s long-standing donor recognition group and help evolve its role to celebrate both existing and future high-value supporters.
• Work closely with senior College figures, including the Provost, Bursar, Fellows, and academics, to align donor aspirations with strategic priorities.
• Collaborate with the wider Old Members’ Office to ensure a joined-up approach to donor cultivation, stewardship, and communications.

We’re seeking a confident and relationship-driven professional with:

• Experience in educational or non-profit fundraising, especially in managing donor pipelines and stewardship for gifts of £25K+.
• The tact and creativity to build long-term relationships and deepen donor engagement over time.
• A strategic mindset, able to forecast and manage a high-value giving pipeline in line with College priorities.
• Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a small, high-performing team, supporting alumni events and broader development initiatives as needed.
• Strong interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence, and a genuine passion for education and philanthropy.

About the roles:

These roles offer flexibility for home and office working with travel to appointments to meet clients across London as required. You will work Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with some evening and weekend working on occasion dependent upon client need.

As a Caseworker, you will provide structured, tailored support plans based on holistic assessments for individuals affected by crime. You will make initial contact with victims via the telephone, then tailor the support to the Victims preferences i.e. home visits or via conference calls, to explain our services, and assess the impact of crime.

Your responsibilities will include developing, delivering, and monitoring safety and support plans, providing resources, interventions, and information to service users. You will need to be able to manage a demanding workload, travel to appointments with clients and to meet a range of conflicting deadlines.

As a Caseworker you will:

• Manage a caseload of self-referred & referred service users, providing information & advocacy to help them navigate the criminal justice process.
• Conduct risk & needs assessments, ensuring each victim receives tailored support & information.
• Identify barriers to accessing services & work with partners to provide ongoing support.
• Keep accurate & confidential case records.

About the role:

This role is based in either our Stafford or Stoke on Trent office, but will operate across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. Travel is expected; as is providing victim support in person, usually at VS offices or at community venues.

As an ISS you will be:

• the link worker between the behaviour change service and the victim service;
• ensuring risk information is shared appropriately and used to inform internal and external actions;
• communicating between the two services; exchanging referrals and information; contacting victims and liaising with them
• delivering support to victims during programme intervention and beyond, where necessary, holding a caseload and providing direct support to partners/ex partners in accordance with their wishes and needs;
• ensuring partner agencies are aware of the integrated service and have due regard to its purpose
• delivering partner training and/or awareness sessions for enhancing relationships with partners and other stakeholders.

The Fundraising Assistant supports the Regional Community Fundraising Team by providing administrative and fundraising support. This role plays a key part in building and maintaining relationships with supporters, volunteers, and fundraising groups, ensuring excellent stewardship and service. Responsibilities include processing income, managing supporter records, coordinating public collections, and assisting with local fundraising initiatives. The post holder will be the first point of contact for supporters and will collaborate closely with internal teams and external community contacts to enhance fundraising efforts. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required.

• Previous experience with the public (in-person or over the phone) in a customer/supporter facing environment

About the Role

As a Family Court IDVA you will take referrals from CAFCASS to arrange support for victims of domestic abuse entering or going through family court proceedings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct support to victims of domestic abuse and coercive and controlling behaviour.
• Report writing for CAFCASS and other partners.
• Monitoring and recording activity and outcomes measured.

About You:

Ideally, you will have:

• - A good understanding around the issues of domestic abuse and its implications for children and young people
• - Knowledge of family court proceedings
• - Ability to write concise, factual, effective reports
• - Experience of developing and maintaining effective working relationships

You will need:

• Training for IDVA accreditation (to be provided if do not have already)

About the role:

This role is based at our National Contact Centre in Cardiff.

As a Caseworker you will be: -

• Ensuring each victim receives an individually appropriate tailored support and information service that fully meets their needs, keeping complex needs central to all processes and decisions.
• Undertaking risk and needs assessments to address the specific needs of the client in line with VS operating procedures. To follow relevant safeguarding policies and procedures, working with safeguarding leads and other agencies to ensure an integrated approach to address any safeguarding concerns.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case records, complying with data protection and all other legislation connected to your work and sharing protocols where necessary. Contribute to monitoring information as required by Victim Support.
• Providing information and advocacy to enable service users to navigate and understand the criminal justice process and ensure their rights are upheld in accordance with the Victims Code of Practice this could include criminal, legal and if relevant, civil remedies to service users.
• Developing and maintaining effective working relationships and promote effective communication between staff and other stakeholders.

About the Role

As a Caseworker, you will provide structured, tailored support plans based on holistic assessments for individuals affected by crime. You will make initial contact with victims via the telephone, then tailor the support to the Victims preferences i.e. home visits or via conference calls, to explain our services, and assess the impact of crime. Your responsibilities will include developing, delivering, and monitoring safety and support plans, providing resources, interventions, and information to service users.

As a Caseworker you will:

• Manage a caseload of self-referred & referred service users, providing information & advocacy to help them navigate the criminal justice process.
• Conduct risk & needs assessments, ensuring each victim receives tailored support & information.
• Identify barriers to accessing services & work with partners to provide ongoing support.
• Keep accurate & confidential case records.

About You

You will have an understanding of the impact of crime on victims & experience in delivering services within a statutory, voluntary, or multi-agency setting. Experience in managing a caseload and of completing risk & needs assessments would be beneficial.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable weather and climate scientist to join us at The Royal Meteorological Society (RMetS) as the Science Engagement Officer.

This is an exciting career opportunity for an individual who is keen to use their skills and knowledge to make a positive impact and advance the understanding of weather and climate in society through informal education. In this role, you will provide scientific support across science engagement project development, delivery and wider RMetS team operations. Reporting to the Head of Publishing and Scientific Engagement, you will have responsibility for developing training materials and co-delivering sessions for our climate change communication training, and you will deliver RMetS early career initiatives such as our career events. You will also create engaging content for various RMetS activities and stakeholders, and work with the media to enhance public awareness of weather and climate.

• Extensive knowledge across weather and climate, and evidence of involvement in activities to ensure ongoing current knowledge across diverse areas.
• Experience in communicating scientific concepts and information to a different range of stakeholders (for example policy makers, the wider scientific and social science community, or the general public).
• A friendly and open-minded approach, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a small team.
