About us
The Sir Martin Gilbert Learning Centre is an educational charity whose mission is to educate young people about who Jews are and the contributions they have made to society. The role
This is far more than a management job. As our first School Partnerships Manager, you'll lead our outreach to schools and play a central role in shaping how the Centre develops and grows. Working closely with the Director, you'll drive the number of schools accessing our programmes, deepen relationships with existing partners, and help design our Focus School programme from the ground up.
You'll spend your time:
- Building and stewarding relationships with teachers, heads of department, and senior school leaders
- Proactively identifying and contacting prospective partner schools through outreach, networking and events
- Managing the full partnership lifecycle, from first contact through booking, delivery and follow-up
- Shaping our Focus School programme and contributing ideas for curriculum development
- Representing the Centre at conferences and educational events

Our office is a short walk from King’s Cross station in London. For this role, we need someone to come into the office at least one day a week, on a Thursday. A day where all of the Programmes team come into the office. You can work remotely for the rest of the time. Equally, you may prefer to work from the office full-time. We encourage all colleagues to visit member hospices to help inform our work and you may be able to work from there.
Contractually this role is London-based.

The Role
The Conference Manager (FTC) plays a significant part in delivering Hospice UK’s programme of conferences for our hospice membership. As a newly created position, you will take the lead on our one-day conferences while also supporting the delivery of our annual National Conference.
Our conferences are central to our strategic aim of bringing the sector together to share expertise, collaborate and celebrate innovation. Your work will ensure our conferences are delivered to a high standard and that hospice delegates have access to relevant and timely learning opportunities.
You will work with a range of internal and external stakeholder as well as the subject matter experts. Listening to their feedback, you will help shape the programme content, work with the wider project team to deliver a smooth and valuable learning opportunity for hospice colleagues.
The Team
The Conference team is made up of the Senior Conference manager and the Programmes Team Administrator, with support from the Deputy Director of Programmes, Director of Programmes and subject matter experts across the organisation.
It is a mighty team of two, managing a portfolio of 5 in person conferences across the year, from our role focused one-day conferences of around 130 - 150 delegates to our annual National Conference, which welcomes over 1000 delegates.Our team works across the organisation and collaborates with lots of internal and external stakeholders.
About You
You will have strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and be confident building relationships with a wider range of stakeholders.
You will bring:
- Proven experience of organising in person conferences, events or seminars (or similar complex activities) for around 130 people or more

The Fundraising Manager – Trusts is responsible for developing trust income. This role will focus on larger funding bids, and exploring the potential for funding for Sight Scotland Veterans. The role supports the organisation’s purpose to make a significant impact on the lives of people living with visual impairment in Scotland by maximising fundraising income to deliver brilliant services and create a positive impact on our ability to deliver for the long term.
This specialist manager role would suit someone who is already operating at a senior trust fundraiser level, or someone who can demonstrate experience of developing a trust and grants pipeline, creating compelling applications and directly delivering income success.This role will line manage a Trusts Fundraiser (a brand-new post to Sight Scotland), so this could be the ideal opportunity for someone looking to take on people management for the first time.

The Role:
The role provides operational leadership across a defined operational area of the Trust’s reserves, ensuring land management, people management and community engagement to deliver strong conservation outcomes. The post oversees planning, delivery and quality assurance of reserve and project work, ensuring compliance with policies, health and safety and regulatory requirements. The role involves leading and developing the local team, managing budgets, mitigating risks and utilising ecological data to inform evidenced based decision making to support long-term site and project development. Through this combination of leadership and operational oversight, the role helps safeguard the Trust’s reserves and advance its conservation mission.
Main objectives:
Land management and project delivery
Manage wildlife reserve operations across the West Reserves Management Area, including conservation and land management and monitoring of 3,700 hectares across ten wildlife reserves with a range of habitats, including blanket bog, heaths, fens, freshwater lochs, woodlands within the temperate rainforest zone, and a range of montane vegetation communities.
Representation and stakeholder engagement
Build and maintain positive relationships with landowners, volunteers, contractors, communities and interested parties. Represent the Trust professionally at local, regional and national events and meetings, and proactively manage day‑to‑day issues with neighbours and partners.
People management and teamwork
Line manage and develop the operational area team, leading recruitment, induction and performance. Foster a positive organisational culture, support collaboration across teams, and act as the key local contact for members and volunteers. Help recruit, train and retain volunteers, and provide local operational insight to support fundraising, communications and policy work.
Information and operational management
Ensure that data management, documentation and reporting adhere to legal and regulatory requirements and comply with internal policies and procedures. Maintain and review work programmes, risk assessments, project risk registers, reserve and project budgets and promote a strong safety culture within the operational team and with contractors and volunteers.
The successful candidate will ideally:
- HND in environmental conservation or similar (essential)
- Degree / post graduate qualification in environmental conservation, countryside management or similar (desirable)
- Minimum three years in similar role – to include experience of management planning and coordinating practical conservation work (essential)
- Health and Safety legislation/procedures relating to outdoor working (essential)
- Evidence-based decision making (essential)
- Demonstrable experience of securing permissions and consents required for conservation and land management activities.
- Demonstrable experience of managing practical constraints while implementing conservation and land management activities, including ecological and archaeological mitigation measures.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Construction, Design and Management Regulations in context of conservation projects (essential)
- Demonstrable knowledge of the Environmental Authorisations (Scotland) Regulations (EASR)
- Experience of delivering upland conservation projects including peatland restoration, non-native conifer plantation felling, extraction and restoration, and /or native woodland planting and regeneration.
- Demonstrable experience of working within urban and rural areas of Scotland with specific reference to the challenges associated with managing land for wildlife conservation in these areas.
- Demonstrable knowledge of upland deer management and conservation grazing for nature conservation purposes.
- Demonstrable knowledge of conservation and land management to mitigate against wildfire risk.
- Demonstrable experience of communicating the importance of maintaining and expanding healthy habitats for wildlife and people.

The Trusts and Grants Fundraiser is a new role brought in to support with this growing income stream. This is an initial 2 year fixed term contract with the potential to become a permanent position.
The fundraiser will work beneath and with the Fundraising Manager – Trusts to develop trust income. Specifically the post holder will manage the small trust portfolio, support with reporting on KPIs and impact, create engaging cases for support, and support the Manager with various tasks, freeing them up to develop larger, strategic bids.
This role would suit someone who has experience of trusts and grants, either at an officer or fundraiser level, who can demonstrate experience of developing a trust and grants pipeline, creating compelling applications and directly delivering income success.
