Our client is a user-led pan-disability charity operating primarily in Buckinghamshire. They are a successful, dynamic and influential charity, focused on supporting disabled people by fixing the biggest issues facing them. They aim to build a world which is Fair4All, including disabled people.

Salary Range: £31,000 - £34,000 FTE depending on experience

The role:

The primary purpose of the Project Operations Manager role is to provide leadership to ensure that their project work is delivered successfully, to agreed targets, on time and within agreed budgets.

Responsibilities:

• To take charge of and lead their projects, and the staff and volunteers working on them. Ensure project work is delivered successfully, to agreed targets, on time and within agreed budgets. This includes project reporting, overseeing and managing website, media, online and other communications activities related projects, and managing project budgets.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of their Operational Plan.
• With the Trustee Board and grants team, support the revival of appropriate dormant projects and the creation of new projects. Contribute to and endorse grant applications and ensure funder targets and goals are met.
• Establish and maintain collaborative and positive working relationships with their Trustees and key staff.
• With the Support Manager, positively influence the culture within their to ensure it remains an inclusive, diverse and effective working community and continue the charity’s policy of highly supportive and positive management of staff and volunteers, ensuring that their Values are upheld.
• Contribute to ensuring effective welfare and safeguarding policies are in place that are understood and regularly communicated to volunteers and employees.
• Ensure they deliver excellent customer service, so that service users, external organisations and partners receive high-quality service and support; and ensure any complaints or issues are managed promptly and satisfactorily resolved.
• Represent them and their projects internally and externally.

About you:

They are seeking an experienced charity operations and/or projects manager who can bring skills, expertise and knowledge into their rapidly expanding charity.

Essential skills and experience:

• Previous experience of successfully managing UK charity or not-for profit projects and/or services, including financial and budgetary controls.
• A track record of proactive success in achieving project and service goals and outcomes.
• Previous experience of successfully managing staff and, ideally, volunteers.
• A proven ability to effectively plan and manage a mixed portfolio of tasks and activities, including managing your own time effectively.
• A track record of personal learning and development, adapting to changing circumstances, and proactively meeting challenges.
• Strong personal commitment to diversity and inclusion including the social model of disability. Must be able to work effectively with disabled people with all types of impairment.

Desirable skills and experience:

• Understanding impairments including neurodiversity, mental health, sensory loss, long-term conditions and physical disabilities.
• A highly supportive management style which removes barriers for disabled staff and volunteers to allow them to work in ways which are most effective for them.
• Knowledge of project management tools.

Our client works by permanently removing barriers facing disabled people and finding answers to the big issues facing them, alongside helping individuals. Their projects and partnerships deliver unique and lasting change and effective support that helps nearly all the 41,000 disabled people in Buckinghamshire – plus many beyond their county.

Uniquely, they are mainly voluntary charity. They have over 150 volunteers, mostly disabled people, supported by a small staff team, who themselves run their projects and services. Many of their volunteers are jobseekers or needing help to move forward in their lives and they actively support them by the way we work.

Sense has a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our Fundraising team as our Statutory Fundraising Manager. This is a 6 month fixed term, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, based between home and our offices in Kings Cross, London.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading statutory fundraising at Sense. This includes both new business work and managing relationships with existing supporters. You will be working closely with the Head of High Value Partnerships, the CEO, and senior operational colleagues, the post holder will create a strategy in this area and collaborate with operational teams to develop new programme models and processes to drive growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to maximise income from statutory and lottery bodies such as NHS England, the Arts Council and National Lottery Community Fund. Statutory funding has been identified as a growth area at Sense Work with senior stakeholders, including the CEO, Directors of Operations and Finance teams, to develop and deliver compelling funding bids for statutory and public sector funders
• Manage relationships with statutory and public sector funders, including taking responsibility for narrative and financial reporting, and coordinating all stakeholder contact
• Specific responsibility for managing and reporting against statutory income and expenditure budgets
• Financial and programme reporting and database management
• Ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act, the Chartered Institute of Fundraising’s Code of Practice, and any other regulatory frameworks that may be introduced

• A track record of securing income from a range of statutory sources, including six figure grants (essential) - success at the seven figure+ grant level (desirable)

BIAS’s housing advice service supports members of the local Irish community and beyond with a range of complex housing issues, including homelessness, rehousing, tenancy sustainment and disrepair. We are looking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic person who has a background or demonstrable interest in advice, housing or homelessness to join our friendly advice team. Your role will involve contributing to the day-to-day running of BIAS’s advice service, providing specialist advice on housing via one-to-one client appointments, completing casework and advocating for positive outcomes for your clients.

You will need to have strong people skills and the ability to build good working relationships with colleagues and clients, excellent organisational skills and the ability to digest complex briefs. You will be required to manage an active caseload, ensuring that cases are appropriately actioned and recorded and that deadlines are met.

KEY WORK AREAS AND MAIN DUTIES

• Providing appropriate advice, information and practical help to clients, via in-person appointments, outreach visits, telephone, letter or email. Where necessary, advocating on behalf of clients in the appropriate forums.

These are the basic duties required of the Housing Adviser. However, it is necessary for all staff to be flexible and you may be required from time to time to perform other reasonable duties which are required for the efficient running of the organisation. We will also offer training opportunities to support your career development.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK. This role will be based primarily in our advice offices in Willesden (Brent), with some outreach work in Haringey borough. There may be some options for flexible working (one day per week)

We deliver our support through our welfare advice drop-in service, our Active Ageing Clubs and our Be-a-friend volunteer scheme. BIAS has exciting plans for further expansion in Haringey in 2025 and has a range of medium- to long-term grant funding, including from Ireland’s Emigrant Support Programme.

The purpose of this role is to build on our programme of strategic engagement with our key audiences, in order to build our presence, influence and networks in a wide range of UK sectors and topical issues. This includes leading the design and delivery of some of our focused programmes in which we award Fellowships and supporting the Fellows awarded into these programmes to help them increase their UK impact once they’ve done their overseas learning. This role is responsible for delivering all engagement activity across our Arts and culture, Community and citizenship, Environment and resources and Governance and public provision universal themes.  

Key responsibilities:

Programme Development and Delivery

• With oversight from the Engagement Director, and working with members of the Advisory Council to develop the focus and goals of a three-year Fellowship programme within our Governance and Public Provision universal theme through a process of desk-based research and consultation workshops
• Working with the Head of Comms to design and plan the launch of the new programme to applicants
• Working with the Head of Fellowship to design a support package for applicants into the programme
• With oversight from the Engagement Director, creating and facilitating a Working Group of Fellows, partners and Council members to support the cohort of Fellows awarded within this programme. And working with the other Research and Engagement Manager to develop and enhance our approach to stewarding these Working Groups including ones already in place for our other programmes.

• Supporting the Engagement Director in the recruitment and stewardship of Knowledge Partners for this programme and other programmes under your four thematic sectors

• Salary c. £43,000-46,000 per annum (5 days per week / 36.5 hours)

This is a full-time role in a well-established charity based in Twickenham. This role would suit someone who wants to have the opportunity to work flexibly and build their career in the Charity sector with experience of working in social care.

Richmond Carers Centre has the mission to help unpaid adult carers to live a full, active and meaningful life by providing them with advice, information, activities, breaks and emotional support either face to face, by phone or by email to enable them to live well.

As an Adult Carers Support Worker, you will be part of a small, dedicated team and take a lead on providing emotional support to adult carers and a commitment to enhancing their health and wellbeing. Much of your work will involve actively listening to carers, often via the phone support line, providing information, advice and support. As part of the Adult Carers Support Team, you will also be involved in organising breaks for carers, outreach activities and leisure events, as well as group work to help enhance carers’ health and wellbeing. Part of the role will also aim to improve the identification, recognition and understanding of the needs of adult carers, raise the profile of adult carers and ensure adult carers needs are met. You’ll also be expected to work with our volunteers and to use appropriate monitoring and evaluation reports to show our funders what we’ve achieved.

The London Diocesan Fund (LDF) is seeking an Area Director of Ministry (Two Cities) to play a key role within the Ministry team, based from The Old Deanery. 

Job Summary 

The Two Cities Area Director of Ministry is a member of the Two Cities Area Team, responsible for providing visionary leadership and ensuring good management of key ministry initiatives. Specifically, the postholder oversees fostering vocations to lay and ordained ministries, directing ordinands, supervising post ordination training, overseeing clergy ministerial review, development (MDR), and training and facilitating lay training programmes. As a member of the Two Cities Area Team the Area Director of Ministry, working closely with the Area Archdeacons, will also contribute to strategic planning and implementation of ministry objectives within the Area.

• Organises events to equip and inspire both lay and ordained vocations.

The Events and Communications Officer will work across the team to plan, produce and deliver a calendar of in-person and on-line events. The Involvement and Engagement team at Alzheimer’s Research UK is responsible for delivering a wide portfolio of activities to increase understanding of dementia, engage and involve the public and people affected by dementia with research and promote the work of Alzheimer’s Research UK. The team work closely with people affected by dementia to gather their insights to shape our work and campaigns. 

The team is part of the Information and Involvement department. The department’s mission is to improve understanding of dementia and the diseases which cause it and encourage and support the public and people affected by dementia to get involved in research.

The manager leads on the development of a wide range of activities, such as coordinating meetings with the Lived Experience Involvement Group; the online public engagement programme; and managing the Inspire Fund community engagement grant scheme. The role has responsibility for monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on the impact of the public involvement and engagement programme. In addition, the role holder will identify improvements and undertake strategy development and implementation working with the Head of the Department to deliver this.

Reporting to the Head of Information and Involvement, the Manager has two line reports, and the team works closely with colleagues across the Policy, Communications and Involvement Directorate, notably the Information Services and Policy teams. The team also has regular interactions with people affected by dementia and supports the wider charity in engaging effectively with supporters about dementia research. They work closely with colleagues in the Research and Partnerships directorate, and Volunteering and Events teams to deliver activities.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity leave. This role will be known internally as Involvement and Engagement Manager

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Lead the Involvement and Engagement team

· Work with the Head of Information and Involvement to plan and implement involvement and engagement programmes to support the development of the charity’s goals.

· Implement the Involvement and Engagement strategy for Alzheimer’s Research UK, ensuring a varied portfolio of opportunities, with a focus on reaching diverse and underserved audiences.

· Ensure processes to manage a database of lived experience volunteers are robust and up to date and that policies and procedures are adhered to.

Deliver public engagement programmes and activities

· Deliver the Inspire Fund community engagement grant scheme, managing the application and awards process, monitoring ongoing grants, supporting grant holders and reporting on impact.

· Oversee the planning and coordination of the public engagement events programme, including supporting the Involvement and Engagement Officer with delivery of the online public engagement series and other events.

· Working closely with colleagues in the Research team support and facilitate dementia researchers to deliver public engagement activities, providing guidance and resources as required.

· Work with the Involvement and Engagement Officers to maintain existing engagement resources and promote their use across the charity. Develop new engagement resources that can be used across a variety of events.

· Support colleagues across ARUK to build skills and confidence talking about dementia and research, and how to engage with their audiences.

· Graduate or equivalent level of education in biomedical sciences, science communication or similar.

Job title: Part time Finance Manager

Location: A short walk from Edgeware Road station

Hours: 21 hours a week

Duration: 5/6 months

If so then this interim Finance Manager role is the right role for you.

Reporting to the CEO and overseeing the work of a part time Finance Assistant you will ensure that all financial operations, reporting and planning is completed in a timely manner.

Working as part time Finance Manager your day to day duties will include;
• Overseeing the finance operations including sales and purchase ledger
• Completing weekly payment runs
• Overseeing the completion of monthly payroll run of 40 people
• Completing monthly management accounts
• Producing monthly management packs and presenting figures to the board and finance committee
• Support the fundraising team with bids and grants applications
• Completing budgets
• Maintaining monthly cashflow forecasts offering advise where necessary

The skills you will bring to the position of Finance Manager will include;
• Knowledge of management accounting
• Prior experience in similar role ideally within a charity sector
• Experience of working with an accounting system such as Quickbooks
• Excellent financial management skills
