In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.
The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by funding great initiatives, finding what works and working for change - scaling and spreading the practices that make a difference.
One of the most important things we do is ensure that our funding and commissioning processes run smoothly and deliver maximum impact. We manage significant grants and complex commissioning arrangements that support projects designed to make a lasting difference. To do this well, we need robust systems, clear governance and strong relationships with partners. This role is critical to making that happen. As our Senior Grants & Commissioning Manager, you’ll lead on optimising our grant management system Salesforce, oversee risk and compliance and drive improvements in commissioning and procurement across the organisation. You’ll be the go-to person for contracts, grant agreements, policy guidance and Salesforce, ensuring data integrity and enabling confident decision-making. By keeping everything organised and efficient, you will be helping us achieve our strategic goals and deliver on our mission.
Key Responsibilities
Your role would be to ensure our funding and commissioning processes run efficiently, compliantly and strategically. You’ll lead improvements in systems, governance and risk management, act as the organisation’s Salesforce and grant management expert, and provide strong leadership to the team which will enable confident decisions and maximising impact. A detailed list of your key responsibilities on how you’ll do this is given below:
- Grant management and system optimisation:
- Manage the organisation’s grant management system (Salesforce), ensuring functionality, accuracy and integrity of data.
- Configure and update forms, fields and workflows to support new applications and evolving business needs.
- Develop and deliver custom reports and dashboard for internal teams to enable effective monitoring and decision-making.
- Act as the primary liaison for system enhancements, ensuring continuous improvement, and day-to-day troubleshooting.
- Commissioning and procurement:
- Support the Assistant Director of Finance and Operations in delivering improvements to commissioning and procurement processes across the Programmes, Evaluation, Change and Evidence directorates.
- Ensure commissioning activities align with organisational priorities and compliance requirements.
- When required, provide support and additional resource to the Delivery Operations Manager on the execution of agreements for all teams.
- Risk management and compliance:
- Lead on negotiating terms and conditions with grantees, evaluators and researchers, escalating complex issues where necessary.
- Conduct due diligence for funded projects, ensuring compliance with organisational standards and risk mitigation.
- Maintain and control master versions of all templates, including Grant Agreements and Variations, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Governance and policy development:
- Develop, maintain and disseminate non-HR policies and guidance documents related to commissioning and procurement.
- Ensure governance frameworks are robust, up-to-date and embedded across the organisation.
- Training and capacity building:
- Design and deliver training sessions to build staff competency in policies, guidance and system procedures.
- Act as the organisational expert on Salesforce and grant management processes, providing ongoing support and advice.
- Leadership and team management:
- Provide direct line management, mentorship and professional development for the Delivery Operations Manager. When required during periods of peak activity, provide support and resource for their responsibilities.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men and it’s harming too many lives. At Prostate Cancer UK, one of our top priorities is funding research that leads to real change. It’s vital we do our best to make sure this research makes a meaningful difference to men’s lives, and that’s where you come in.
We’re at an exciting time, with a new strategy coming soon, and so we are looking to grow our Research Funding Team. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Grant Manager to help us deliver our core funding schemes and embark on new, exciting initiatives to fund ground-breaking research that will revolutionise how prostate cancer is diagnosed and treated.
You’ll take responsibility for a portfolio of around a third of our active research grants, providing support and guidance to the researchers leading them. You’ll be a main point of contact for grant applicants, supporting them through the application process and providing them with guidance about remit and eligibility. Using your understanding of research funding and administration, you’ll work with our Senior Research Officers to make sure our funding schemes run smoothly, to time and support our funding Committees in their review of the applications we receive.
What the job involves
It’s crucial that we not only have fair and robust processes to ensure that we fund the very best research, but that we also closely monitor and support the delivery of the resulting projects, to maximise their impact and accelerate the advancements we see through research. Which is why we’re looking to appoint an experienced Grant Manager to join our Research Directorate.
As part of your responsibilities, you’ll manage a portfolio of our active research grants, closely monitoring their progress and finances, and provide valuable support and advice to our grant holders and their teams. You’ll develop a detailed understanding of the science behind these projects and build positive working relationships with the researchers and their institutions. You’ll monitor your portfolio for demonstrable outputs (publications, presentations, intellectual property etc.) and you’ll work closely with colleagues in other teams to help them better understand the research we fund in order to showcase this to our supporters and potential donors.
You’ll support the delivery of our research funding grant schemes, managing at least one of our grant rounds, whilst also supporting our other funding schemes, ensuring that we maintain robust processes and adhere to industry and department standards. You’ll also help direct on our activities to involve people with experience of prostate cancer in research, including their involvement in the assessment of the research proposals we receive, as well as supporting researchers to include patients in the design and delivery of their projects.

Background
The Caerlow Trust (“the Trust”) is a family-led discretionary grant-making trust, governed by four trustees (the Board) that aims to alleviate poverty-related suffering in the United Kingdom.
The Trust’s operating principles are rooted in the basic belief that everyone deserves to have access to sufficient resources such that they are not concerned with day-to-day survival. It aims to achieve this by making grants targeting three main pillars of work: hunger, homelessness, and addiction.

Role overview and purpose
The Grants Manager will provide a range of services that will be key to the Trust’s grant management cycle including research, assessment, database management and development, reporting and evaluation. They will be the key contact for a portfolio of grant applicants and recipients, to support them throughout their relationship with the Trust.

Grants Management:

Introduction
Afield is a brand new charity responding to environmental injustice. We do this by working with communities to rewild disadvantaged urban neighbourhoods; and by supporting artists to undertake ecological research. Objectives
You will work alongside Afield’s two co-founders to define and run the urban wilding and arts grants programmes, including managing the cohort of grantees. We are looking for dynamism, energy and experience of grant management to help us launch the first round of grants and a support programme.
Responsibilities
Working closely with the two co-founders you will set up the arts research and wilding programmes. This will include launching and running opencall and selection processes, and the cohort support programmes. Once established you will lead subsequent programmes, and plan for future cohorts. Compensation and benefits

4 days per week role, for which the salary is £34,500 (FTE: £43,000)

This pivotal position offers an opportunity to lead the development and management of funding strategies, directly supporting impactful charitable initiatives through strong relationships with funders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with grant-making organisations, trusts, and foundations to secure funding aligned with organisational goals.
- Prepare compelling funding proposals, reports, and updates that clearly communicate the organisation's impact and needs.
- Manage and oversee grants lifecycle, ensuring compliance and timely reporting.
- Monitor funding trends and opportunity pipelines to maximise revenue streams.
- Collaborate with internal teams to collect evidence of outcomes and evaluate programme performance.
- Maintain accurate records of applications, awards, and funder correspondence.
- Provide strategic advice and insights to senior leadership on funding opportunities and partnership development.
Person Specification:
- Proven experience in securing and managing trusts, foundations, or similar institutional funding.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to craft persuasive proposals and reports.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities.
- Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Knowledge of the charitable sector and awareness of funding landscape.
- Analytical mindset for interpreting funding trends and assessing organisational needs.
- A collaborative approach to working across teams and engaging stakeholders.
What’s on Offer
Salary: £38,000 - £41,000 per annum
