Job description

About Peckham Palms

Peckham Palms is a social landlord and dedicated home for Black women entrepreneurs in hair, beauty and wellbeing.

We bring independent businesses together under one roof, helping them stay rooted, visible and growing in Peckham. As we look to our next chapter, we are building on this work to deepen our support for tenants, grow our community programme and explore new spaces for our social shops model.

We are proud of what we have built, and we are ambitious about what comes next. This is a chance to help lead that next chapter.

About the Role

This is a senior, outward-facing role for someone who can turn ideas into funded, delivered projects. You will identify, design and secure the partnerships and impact funding that align with our ambitions, then lead delivery of the work you bring in, strengthening the impact Peckham Palms has on our existing tenants and on the community beyond our walls.

Peckham Palms is not a charity. We are a social business, and that shapes how we fund our work. Partnerships with family offices and corporates, alongside commercial projects and sponsorship, are at the heart of the fundraising strategy this role will build and deliver. You will need to look well beyond the usual grant funding pathways, and to be as comfortable in commercial conversations as in philanthropic ones.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver Peckham Palms’ partnerships and funding strategy.
  • Secure new funding, sponsorships and commercial partnerships.
  • Develop and lead projects from concept through to delivery and reporting.
  • Build and manage relationships with funders, partners and stakeholders.
  • Scope and manage freelance support and project budgets.
  • Communicate Peckham Palms’ story, impact and ambition to different audiences.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A strong track record in fundraising and partnership development.
  • Experience securing and delivering funded or commercial projects.
  • Confidence working with corporates, family offices, sponsors and other partners.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong project management and budgeting skills.
  • The independence and drive to work with minimal day-to-day oversight.
  • A genuine commitment to Black women-led businesses, inclusive entrepreneurship and Peckham.

Why Join Peckham Palms?

This is an opportunity to join an ambitious social business and play a key role in shaping its next chapter.

You’ll have the autonomy to build new relationships, develop new opportunities and directly influence the growth and impact of Peckham Palms.

How to apply

Please refer to the attached Job Description for full details of the role and person specification.

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you. Please send your CV and a short cover letter that tells us:

  • About a partnership or funded project you led: what you set out to do, how you raised the funding, and what it achieved.

  • How your values align with ours, and what excites you about the chance to work with us.

We particularly welcome applications from people with experience in, or a passion for, hair and beauty, urban renewal and inclusive entrepreneurship, and from those with a strong understanding of Peckham and its communities. Peckham Palms is committed to being an inclusive employer, and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
