Role purpose 

The Donation Processor plays a key role in ensuring the accurate recording, reconciliation, and processing of all income received by Southampton Hospitals Charity. This position supports the integrity of financial data, provides timely information to fundraising and finance teams, and ensures compliance with internal controls, charity regulations, and GDPR requirements. 

Donation Processing & Banking 

• Process and record donations via standing orders, BACS, and other channels, ensuring all supporting documentation is filed appropriately and in compliance with internal financial procedures and details are entered into Beacon CRM. 

• Download, reconcile and process reports from online donation platforms and input details into Beacon CRM. 

• Support with the secure storage, logging, and transfer of cash and cheques to the hospital’s cashier’s office in accordance with cash-handling procedures.

• Follow up bank reconciliation of cash and cheques and update Beacon and Xero accordingly. 

• Liaise with fundraising team to identify and allocate income, resolving queries quickly and professionally. 

• Update bank statement spreadsheet daily and share it with the wider fundraising team. 

Database & Records Management 

• Input and code donations into Beacon CRM, ensuring accurate allocation. 

• Maintain electronic records to comply with financial, statutory, and GDPR regulations. 

• Ensure timely transfer of income data from Beacon into Xero, supporting reconciliation and month-end procedures. 

• Support the preparation of Gift Aid declarations and claims in line with HMRC regulations, maximizing eligible income. 

• Work with Finance Manager to ensure that the necessary accounting and reconciliation processes are in place

Design and Brand Coordinator

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, generally 9am to 5pm with occasional evening or weekend work if required.

A fantastic opportunity to join the Cure Parkinson’s Research team – a medical research charity supporting research to slow, stop or reverse Parkinson’s. Working with the Director of Research, this role will have management of Cure Parkinson’s clinical portfolio. About the role

Reporting in to the partnership and and Business Development Lead, the Government and Multi-lateral Funding Manager will drive substantial growth in income and impact outcomes by actively engaging and cultivating strong relationships with existing and new Institutional funding partners, cocreating and bidding with our Multi-Country Clusters (MCC’s) and Global Programmes teams.

Role Purpose

The Programme Funding Assistant has four core functions:

1. Provide administrative support across a portfolio of income generation streams - Assist in identifying and cultivating strategic partnerships and fundraising relationships, support the development of funding applications, managing donor requirements, reporting to donors, and analysing data.
2. Coordinate TASC’s granting programme - Managing all tasks associated with the annual granting cycle including communication to grantees, including identifying new grantees, supporting the contracting process and supporting the development of the Annual Impact Report.

• Coordination of a portfolio of 5 and 6-figure donors or grantors, with oversight and support from the CEO, securing repeat donations and increasing support where possible
• Administration of existing grants, ensuring that terms are adhered to and reporting processes are managed effectively

• Undertake research across programme workstreams
• Support in the organisation and coordination of events both in the UK and internationally, this could include venue booking, guestlist coordination and liaising with vendors
• Monitor news reports related to forced labour in business supply chains and other programme areas 

4. General administration and management of the CRM (10%) 

• Coordinate meetings and managing the team and CEO calendar
• Report internally on portfolio of relationships and prospects from the CRM, keeping the CRM and internal information management systems updated with records, contact, confidence levels and forecasted donations.

The Director of Finance & Planning is a member of the senior management team and key Board liaison, responsible for supporting the organisation to deliver a sustainable financial and operating model. A member of the senior management team and key liaison with Trustees, the role needs to work at both at strategic and operational level across areas of responsibility including finance & planning, operations, HR and IT. 

Main responsibilities

Board representation and liaison

• Act as the key focal point for the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee, including liaison with the Treasurer on agendas, producing relevant papers and tracking/implementing agreed action points
• Attend People and other Committee meetings as required 
• Attend board meetings and produce board papers where required
• Ensure company secretarial requirements are met for Bond, including Companies House and Charity Commission filings. 

Ensure appropriate financial governance framework is in place

• Ensure that appropriate financial controls, systems and resourcing are in place that meet the needs of the organisation, adapting as these evolve over time 
• Oversee regular review of finance/HR/operations policies and related staff hand-books, ensuring appropriate updates are made as needed and communicated to stakeholders as necessary 
• Ensure timely, accurate and insightful monthly management reporting is produced for the organisation 
• Provide updates on Bond’s finances to SMT and staff as required, at least quarterly 
• Enable accurate and timely financial reporting to funders in line with funding agreements. Maintain oversight of basis for allocation of costs and staff time to restricted grants 
• Take ownership of the year end external audit, leading the audit relationship and overseeing accounts production and sign off 
• Maintain Bond’s reserve policy, tracking financial position against agreed target and ensuring annual review of policy and target level with Trustees 

Provide organisational leadership on Finance, Operations and HR 

• Provide leadership and line management to the Finance, Operations & Effectiveness team. Provide support and oversight on day-to-day activities of the team as needed.
• Represent functional areas within the Senior Management Team
• Actively engage with staff reps and wider staff team to build organisational understanding of Bond’s finances and HR policies 
• Support development of funding proposals, ensuring realistic and accurate budgeting and seeking to maximise organisational cost recovery 
• Provide support to teams across Bond, and the finance manager, in grant management and reporting

Lead Bond’s planning and budgeting process 

• Own Bond’s medium term financial plan, regularly updating the financial outlook across both restricted and unrestricted funds and supporting SMT discussions to ensure long term financial sustainability of Bond 
• Lead on the annual planning and budgeting process, ensuring that team plans and budgets align and support delivery of the organisational strategy 
• Work with SMT to ensure that teams are able to demonstrate and quantify their impact
• Provide support to project managers in developing and managing budgets
• Meet regularly with budget holders to review management accounts for their areas of responsibility
• Reforecast income and expenditure, and review progress against team plans, at least quarterly to ensure visibility of performance and allow in-year correction where needed

Legal and risk management

• Maintain the organisational risk register, updating with SMT regularly and reporting onwards to the Board 
• Monitor risks owned by Director of Finance & Planning, ensure that required actions are being taken and report any change in risk profile to the CEO, SMT and the Board
• Organisational lead on data protection 
• Review material contracts before signature, to assess financial and operational risks, and seeking external legal counsel where needed 

Day-to- day finance tasks 

• Due to size of Bond and the small finance team, Director of Finance & Planning is required to undertake day to day finance tasks as needed, such as: 
• Oversee, review and sign off on payroll, pension and taxes including monthly payroll journal to allocate costs to grants 
• Review and sign off bank reconciliations and journals raised by the Finance Manager 
• Overhead allocations to grants 
• Donor financial reporting production and review 

Person Specification

Required 

• Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
• Senior management experience, including leadership of multi-function teams and liaison with Trustees 
• Strong understanding of charity accounting, including restricted grant management 
• Experience of managing HR professionals or experience of a wide range of HR matters

Description 

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Fundraising to lead and further develop our fundraising activity at a pivotal time for the Cathedral. This is a strategic and hands on role, working closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Management Team to secure the resources needed to sustain and grow the Cathedral’s mission, ministry and buildings. 

You will take the lead on generating fundraising income, primarily through trusts and foundations, while also developing appeals, legacy giving, regular giving and new fundraising income streams. You will build on the strong foundations already in place, bringing creativity, rigour and collaboration to everything you do. 

The role 

As Head of Fundraising, you will: 

• Lead relationships with trusts and foundations, identifying opportunities, writing compelling applications and managing reporting and compliance 

• Drive major fundraising bids to support the Cathedral’s Estates Masterplan and strategic priorities 

• Develop and deliver fundraising appeals and pilot new initiatives to diversify income 

• Grow legacy and regular giving, building a sustainable pipeline of long-term supporters 

• Lead supporter care, engagement and fundraising events 

• Oversee fundraising communications and profile raising activity 

• Work collaboratively across the Cathedral to develop fundable projects and shared ownership of fundraising 

• Manage the fundraising budget and report progress to the Senior Management Team and Finance Committee

Role Purpose
The Finance Manager is responsible for the effective day-to-day stewardship of the church’s financial resources ensuring compliance with UK charity law, financial regulations and best practice under the Charities SORP. The Finance Manager will oversee day-to-day financial operations, provide accurate and timely financial reporting, support strategic decision-making and ensure robust financial controls are maintained across all church activities.

This role combines operational finance management and detailed bookkeeping, with strategic financial insight in support of the church’s mission and ministry. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role suited to someone who enjoys making systems work well, solving problems and creating order through effective processes and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Management & Reporting
· Oversee and process all day-to-day financial operations including income, expenditure, payroll and cash flow management.
· Assist the Head of Finance and Governance with monthly management accounts for the Standing Committee & PCC.
· Support in preparing annual budgets in collaboration with budget holders.
· Monitor performance against budgets and provide financial forecasting.
· Assist with the preparation of statutory annual accounts in accordance with the Charity SORP.
· Liaise with independent examiners or auditors during annual auditing processes.
· Supporting gift days including working the Sundays where gift day takes place (twice per year for two Sundays in a row).
· General liaison with external suppliers ensuring best value for money (e.g. Electricity, Gas, Service Contracts).

2. Compliance & Governance
· Ensure compliance with the Charity Commission regulations, HMRC requirements (including Gift Aid processing) and Parish Reporting.
· Maintain strong financial controls and internal procedures.
· Ensure restricted funds are tracked and reported appropriately.
· Maintain and review financial policies and procedures.

3. Bookkeeping Requirements
· Oversee all income and expenditure journals in Xero and stewardship systems, including processing Gift Aid claims, regular giving administration and online giving platforms.
· Manage all invoicing for hiring income & expenditure.
· Ensure accurate recording and reporting of restricted and unrestricted funds.
· Support with financial information for grants and providing grant reporting to budget holders and external grant bodies.
· Liaising with congregation about their giving and providing information where needed.
· Processing all team expenses and reconciling credit cards.
· Sending out monthly monitoring reports to budget holders.

4. Payroll & HR Finance
· Oversee payroll processing, pensions (including auto-enrolment compliance) and HMRC submissions.
· Manage Nest and Standard Life pension programmes.
· Ensure accurate salary allocation across departments and restricted funds/grants where required.
· Liaise with HR regarding employment budget planning.

5. Systems & Process Improvement
· Manage and optimise financial software systems and API’s to ensure efficiencies.
· Develop and document financial procedures to ensure business continuity and resilience.
· Support digitalisation and efficiency improvements within finance operations and improve current process to be fully digital.

6. Collaboration & Communication
· Build strong working relationships across departments to ensure effective financial collaboration.
· Support communication of new systems, finance policies and changes to the staff team.
· Contribute positively to the Operations Team culture of clarity, care and accountability.

Person Specification

Essential Skills and Experience
· At least 3-5 years’ experience managing the finance and bookkeeping function within a charity or not-for-profit environment.
· Excellent knowledge and expertise of Xero Accounting Software.
· Experience in supporting the preparation of accounts and annual statutory accounts.
· Experience with payroll and HMRC compliance.
