OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Royal Ballet School is a global centre for performance excellence. Its dual mission is to nurture the best ballet dancers for the main stages of the world and assure the future of classical dance art form. With 90% of our students relying on financial support to attend, philanthropy is fundamental to ensuring the School remains accessible to exceptional talent, regardless of financial circumstances. Through exceptional stewardship of existing supporters and the successful cultivation of new funding partnerships, this role will play a vital part in securing the School's future and enabling the next generation of outstanding dancers to realise their potential. 

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

As an integral member of the Development Team, the Development Manager will support the growth of our trust and foundation partnerships to fund a number of our core annual programme areas (Student Bursaries, Healthcare, Facilities etc) as well as new projects. The Manager will also lead on research and funding applications to trusts and foundations, while also delivering quality impact reporting across the School’s work.

CONTRACT TERMS

Duration: Fixed-term maternity cover (approximately 12 months) from October 2026

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday, with flexible hybrid working

Location: Upper School, Covent Garden, WC2E 9DA, with the option to discuss remote work

Salary: £45,000 per annum

MAIN DUTIES

SUPPORTING EXISTING DONOR RELATIONSHIPS

• Maximise income from existing trust and foundation funders by building and maintaining strong relationships, ensuring agreed donor retention and income targets are achieved across designated projects and programme areas
• Steward trust, foundation and corporate funders already or capable of contributing over £100,000 per year by producing high-quality, timely and compelling reports, funding proposals and thank-you communications
• Collaborate with the Development Team to deliver effective donor stewardship through events, communications and year-round engagement activities that strengthen relationships with funders and other key stakeholders.

DEVELOPING NEW DONOR RELATIONSHIPS

• Support members of the Development Team and Centenary working committee, to identify, engage and deliver excellent income and impact for the School
• Work with the Head of Development to research, write and present attractive and compelling fundraising applications and proposals to trusts and companies for core programmes
• Engage key prospect targets through effective and appropriate verbal and written communication. This may range from sharing curated content and short case-studies to producing in-depth project proposals that include detailed financial data and research findings.
• Lead on the creation of Impact data, end of year reporting for core programme outputs and outcomes (showcasing Healthcare, Academic and Artistic performance and more), while ensuring links back to the case for support and the School’s strategic objectives as originally stated. 

WORKING ACROSS INTERNAL DEPARTMENTS AND TEAMS

• Contribute to forecasting and regular reporting, internal planning and budget setting and producing verbal and written reports for senior management as required
• Liaise with relevant departments across the School to gather information for applications and reporting
• Produce and submit quality funding reports to meet deadlines, liaising with relevant teams to ensure funder requirements are met and the evidence base for funding is strengthened. Keep accurate and timely records of approaches, grant opportunities and funds received on our CRM.
• Play an active role within the fundraising team and contribute to the development and creation of strategies and campaigns to increase fundraising through all channels
• To maintain up-to-date knowledge of fundraising regulations, networks, and developments across the sector, advising on best practice in relation to Trusts fundraising.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Criteria:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience
• Proven experience securing and managing multi-year grants from trusts and foundations, including raising at least £50,000 annually from grant funders
• Demonstrable success in building and maintaining long-term relationships with trusts, foundations, funders and donors
• Experience researching prospective funders and developing compelling funding applications, reports, updates and other fundraising communications
• Proficient in using fundraising databases, such as Salesforce, to maintain accurate records and support donor management
• Ability to analyse and communicate complex information, data and organisational impact in a clear, persuasive and engaging way
• Strong understanding of fundraising best practice, current sector trends and impact measurement and evaluation
• Excellent IT, data management and administrative skills, with experience handling financial and confidential information
• Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines and maintain exceptional attention to detail
• Proactive, self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to respond effectively to changing priorities and opportunities
• Positive and collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience of supporting or managing significant fundraising appeals or projects
• Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud Acrobat, InDesign and Photoshop
• Familiarity with performing arts, education, culture sectors.

The Major Giving team is made up of corporate partnerships, philanthropy and trusts and raises £6 million a year from our partners, funders and donors. It is part of the Income Generation directorate, which includes Individual Giving, Organisational Insight and Supporter Relations.

Working closely with all areas of the organisation, we match high-net-worth individuals, funders and partners to our projects and campaigns and motivate them to give significant gifts to Friends of the Earth.

The Major Giving team is ambitious, well-established, dynamic, and collaborative, with each income stream working closely on projects, events and proposals to ensure donors are stewarded in the most effective ways.

Job summary

We're looking for an organised, proactive individual to own the day-to-day running of our grant pipeline. This will range from researching grant opportunities and drafting applications, through to managing compliance, tracking grant finances, and delivering funder reports. About this role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Grants & Impact Team, overseeing grant giving and grant management processes within Alder Hey Children’s Charity.

A senior member of the Grants Team, the post holder will manage Alder Hey Children’s Charity’s grant awarding process, providing approximately £5m of grant awards to the Alder Hey NHS Foundation Trust (the ‘Trust’) per year, with ambitions for significant growth.

The Grants Manager will help develop and implement multi-year strategies to support the identification of fundraising needs and grant requirements. In doing so, the post holder will work closely with both Trust colleagues and our charity fundraising and marketing teams.

The post holder will report to the Director of Grants & Impact (DoG&I) and line manage the Senior Grants Officer and Grants Officer.

Main Duties/Tasks:

Strategic Planning, Financial Management & Reporting

• Work collaboratively with the DoG&I to develop and implement strategic, multi-year plans and budgets.
• Monitor progress against strategic plans, budgets, Key Performance Indicators and produce reports for key meetings such as the Charitable Spending Committee.
• Work with the Trust to identify upcoming funding requirements. Support the development of funding priorities, proposals and projects in line with the strategic direction of the Trust and Charity.  
  
• Support the development of internal and external partnerships in line with our strategic plans and priorities.

Grant Applications & Awards

• Develop and oversee the grants application process, ensuring it aligns with the charitable spending strategy and is accessible to all applicants across the Trust. 
• Manage the grants awards process, ensuring that applications are reviewed and approved in line in a timely manner within the agreed authority levels.
• Support grant applicants through the process, linking them with the relevant fundraising team and other colleagues where appropriate.
• Provide successful applicants with award letters and grant terms and conditions, tailored as required, with the support of the Grants Senior Officer and Officer.
• Work with the Finance Team to collate financial information on grant awards for reporting to the Charitable Spending Committee and funders. 

Communication & Relationships

• Lead on the promotion of opportunities available to apply for Charitable Funding.
• Develop key relationships throughout the Trust that support the grant award and reporting process.
• Develop relationships with the Youth Forum, enabling youth voice in grant making.
• Work closely with the Impact & Insights Manager to ensure that grants awarded are likely to have impact and that this is a central part of the Charity’s grant making.
• Work proactively with the Fundraising and Marketing Teams to ensure that sufficient information is provided in relation to planned and approved grants and appeals.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the Finance Team, working together to ensure financial accuracy and a smooth process of grants management.
• Help promote and maintain a positive culture within the Grants & Impact team.
• Line management of the Grants Senior Officer and Grants Officer.

Innovation & Development

• Work collaboratively with the Digital & Database Manager and Impact & Insights Manager to develop the CRM system for tracking grant awards and reporting data.
• Be a specialist in grant awarding and maintain strong knowledge of relevant legislation and good practice.
  

Other Duties

About the role

As Grants Engagement Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the Trust, ensuring that grants are effectively managed from initial contact through to award and evaluation. You will work closely with Trustees, preparing papers for meetings, providing updates, and supporting informed decision-making. A key part of the role will involve building and nurturing relationships with a wide range of partners, from community groups to charities and other stakeholders, acting as a trusted and supportive point of contact.

You will take a proactive approach to identifying new opportunities, researching potential partners and developing a strong pipeline of projects aligned to the Trust’s priorities. This includes keeping processes under review, supporting due diligence and risk management, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the evolving grant-making landscape. You will also contribute to raising the profile of the Trust, both within the wider organisation and in local communities, acting as an ambassador for its work alongside trustees.

Hours

This is a permanent, part-time role working 2 days per week. We offer flexibility in how these hours are worked to support a positive work–life balance; however, there will be a need to align working days with key Trust activities, including trustee meetings and stakeholder engagement.

Occasional evening and weekend work will be required, for example to attend community events or meetings.

Given the nature of the role, some flexibility around working patterns and availability will be important, along with a willingness to travel within Derbyshire and occasionally further afield as required.

Our client, a significant UK-focused grant-making foundation, is looking to recruit a Grant Manager to manage and develop a portfolio of grants, focusing in particular on enabling disadvantaged children and young people to fulfil their potential (with a focus on education attainment, employability, wellbeing and youth development) and health and wellbeing.

The role:
Role: Grant Manager
Location: London. This is a full-time role based in London (Cannon Street) and the post holder will need to be in the office at least 2-3 days per week, and available for additional days/travel for site visits and meetings as required.

Working closely with the Head of the UK Programmes, the Grant Manager will play a critical role in the development, delivery, and management of a significant portfolio of grants across the UK foundation’s priority programme areas, with a focus on health and wellbeing and children and young people (working on grant-making across other programme areas - arts, culture and heritage and environmental conservation as required).

The foundation has evolved significantly in recent years, and this is an exciting time to join the foundations as they look to grow and develop grant portfolios, continue to finesse their grant-making strategies, and deepen their understanding of the impact of their grants. While this role is UK focused, the post-holder will get exposure to the grant-making of affiliated foundations that have an international focus.

The candidate:
The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of and significant experience within the non-profit sector in the UK, ideally having a combination of grant-making experience as well as direct experience of working within, and/or acting as a consultant to, mid to large sized non-profits that are active in the fields of interest to the foundation.

In terms of subject matter expertise, candidates will have in-depth knowledge and experience within the Disadvantaged Children & Young People, and/or Health & Wellbeing sectors.

Given the foundations’ focus on strengthening the capacity of non-profit organisations, and in particular their financial sustainability/resilience, the ideal candidate will also have the necessary analytical skills and knowledge to assess and analyse organisations as a whole (across factors such as leadership and governance, impact, financial health, business and strategic planning), and will also be adept at analysing how proposed capacity building projects will strengthen the impact/efficiency and/or sustainability/resilience of an organisation.

In addition to excellent analytical skills, the successful candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to understand and articulate complex information clearly and concisely, especially in written form. Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities will be key to success in this role. Finally, the successful candidate will have a high degree of curiosity, humility and a collaborative style and will be able to proactively manage a diverse workload on your own initiative.

The Role

What You'll Be Doing

• Inspire existing and prospective supporters to engage with and support Canine Partners’ work, through proactive and extensive networking.
• Ensure all trust supporters receive exemplary stewardship and supporter care that meets and exceeds their expectations. 
• Be responsible for developing internal and external relationships, and represent Canine Partners at the highest levels to develop engagement and interest. 
• Engage specialist and/or senior level internal support where necessary, to gather information and prepare high level propositions to potential funders. 

 
About You

Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis is the UK’s leading patient charity for people affected by pulmonary fibrosis. We fund research, campaign for improved care, and provide vital support and information to people living with the condition and those who care about them.

We are looking for a Trusts, Foundations and Grants Manager to help grow our income from trusts, foundations, statutory bodies and other grant-making organisations. This is an important role in our Fundraising team, helping to secure the funding we need to expand support services, accelerate research, influence policy and improve care.

You will manage a portfolio of prospects and funders, develop compelling funding applications and reports, build strong relationships, and work closely with colleagues across APF to gather evidence, budgets, impact data and lived experience stories.

We are looking for someone with experience of developing successful funding applications, excellent written communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. You will be proactive, collaborative and motivated by improving the lives of people affected by pulmonary fibrosis.
