Essential Criteria

• Expertise in Multi-Sector Program Management: Demonstrated proficiency in assessing, designing, and managing projects across diverse sectors within complex settings. A track record of navigating the project cycle successfully and securing institutional funding from bilateral and multilateral donors.
• Exceptional Project Management Skills: Proven ability to excel in managing multifaceted tasks within challenging timelines. Prioritization prowess is key, consistently meeting deadlines amidst competing demands.
• Donor Relationship Management: Extensive experience cultivating and sustaining relations with institutional donors such as DFID/FCDO, EU/ECHO, and UN bodies. Adept at analysing funding requirements and adeptly navigating varied worldviews. Skilled in fostering, managing, and evolving relationships within consortium partnerships.

We are looking to recruit a bilingual, French and English speaking, Grants Officer to join our dynamic team of dedicated sexual and reproductive health and rights specialists. The Grants Officer provides support to the Grants Support Team and Grants Operations Manager across a portfolio of grants, ensuring grants move efficiently and in a timely manner through the grant management cycle. The Grants Officer will be trained to become an advanced user of our online Grants Management System Fluxx and will guide and support users who are less conversant with the system. The Grants Officers also support operational management of the fund with the development and maintenance of efficient operating and reporting procedures. 

AmplifyChange is a bi-lingual fund. Due to the current team composition, fluency in French is required, as the postholder will support our Francophone grantees, who are based across West-Africa and occasionally the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The role is a Bath-based position and will work closely with team members in the UK and overseas, including our Grants Support Team, our Finance Team and our Fiduciary Risk Team.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Using our online Grants Management System Fluxx, oversee a portfolio of grants through a grant implementation process from grant set up through to grant closure, ensuring compliance with internal procedures
• Act as the operational focal person for grantees and provide support throughout the grant cycle on contractual, operational and reporting matters, drawing on and coordinating expertise from the Grants Managers and Fiduciary Risk Team (FRT)
• Provide support in the preparation and implementation of new grant calls, and support the selection and Due Diligence process when necessary, responding to all applicants whether successful or unsuccessful
• Regularly monitor the completion of pre-contracting conditions by grantees, and obtain appropriate sign-off internally
• Coordinate, draft and issue Grant Agreements and Addendums using our online system
• Provide regular and up-to-date information to operational management by tracking and monitoring grants, and sharing best practice and lessons learned across the portfolio of grants with other staff members and stakeholder
• Track grantee reporting deadlines, supporting timely report submission by grantees
• Monitor grantee disbursements in collaboration with the Fiduciary Risk and Finance teams
• Support team members, grantees and external consultants to be confident users of the grant management system
• Contribute to the further development of our business processes and the grant management system, by sharing feedback and suggestions with relevant colleagues

PERSON SPECIFICATION

REPORTING AND ORGANISATION

This is a UK based, full time (37.5 hours/week) permanent position, reporting to the Grants Operations Manager. AmplifyChange is based in Bath, and we operate on a hybrid working model. The Grants Programme Assistant will support both the Executive Director and the Assistant Manager across the remit of the SCLF’s work to help it deliver its objectives. This is a unique and interesting opportunity to join the organisation at a key point in its ten-year trajectory as it works to support schools to continue their language provision post 2026 and help shape what that future might look like. 

The postholder will play a key role when it comes to supporting the Executive Director and Assistant Manager in their day-to-day roles and get very involved in the operations of the Foundation. We’re looking for a motivated Grants and Administration Officer. We are happy to consider someone who is newer to grant-making but with deep experience of the charitable sector. We will be looking for someone with aptitude for the duties below who will be able to work independently following training where needed. Alternatively, we would be open to a candidate with experience of grant management who can hit the ground running. The salary offered will be commensurate with experience.

The role is split between grants assessment and management and providing administrative support to the team. A more detailed outline of the duties can be found below. Duties

Grants assessment and management:

• Process grant applications. This includes:

o Visiting, meeting and corresponding with applicants.

o Reviewing, requesting and analysing relevant information.

o Providing feedback on unsuccessful applications.

o Preparing written recommendations for submission to the Board and presenting at Board meetings.

• Monitor progress on grants awarded.

• Ensure the timely and accurate recording of activities and transactions with applicants and grantees through the Trust’s database, Salesforce CRM.

• First point of contact for enquiries and invitations to the Trust by post, email and on the phone.

• Responsible for day-to-day management of the Trust’s digital systems. This includes Salesforce, Box, Wordpress, Cognito, Zapier and Lastpass. Specific duties vary by programme but generally include keeping data current, ensuring staff have relevant access rights and permissions, and backing up data on a regular basis. Training will be provided on all of these systems.

• Manage the Trust’s subscriptions and memberships (e.g. Association of Charitable Foundations, ICO).

• Maintain the Trust’s register of interests.

• Prepare Board papers and Minutes (printing, binding and posting papers).

• Update 360giving with the Trust’s grants data (training will be provided).

• Support meetings (circulating calendar invitations, booking meeting space, organising catering and on-the-day setup and close down).

• General office duties including keeping the office stocked with stationery and tea/coffee and welcoming visitors to the Trust. Lead on the office security systems and dealing with contractors.

Skills and Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of and demonstrable interest in the non-profit sector.

o Financial documents (including charity accounts, management accounts, cashflow forecasts and project budgets).

As the Trust and Grants Manager, you will be responsible for generating income from trusts and grants. Based within the Development Team you will look to identify funding opportunities to secure funds to ensure the Hospice successfully achieves its objectives and development plan. ROLE SUMMARY
The Global Grants and Engagement Manager is responsible for managing the Grants Programme of ProVeg International and leading the activities and staff within the ProVeg International Grants team. You will ensure the global grantmaking of ProVeg International aligns with its mission and goals, while also engaging with key players in the global plant-based movement, and raising funds for the Grants programme and other movement-building activities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Grants Programme :

• Team-lead for ProVeg Grants team, including direct line management of Grants Programme Manager.

• Oversee quarterly grantmaking process, including reviewing and evaluating proposals, and providing recommendations aligned with ProVeg International’s grantmaking criteria.

• Ensure that all grantmaking is aligned and approved by all decision makers, including CEO, funder network, and Board Members. 

• Oversee the team to ensure that all grants admin is fulfilled, including due diligence, and payment processing aligned with US regulations; accurately tracked grant records; queries are responded to timely, etc.

• Oversee and optimise grantmaking process infrastructure, and regularly implement improvements as needed.

• Oversee and optimise further capacity building initiatives developed for global grantee network

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Research and identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, donors, and other sources aligned with ProVeg's mission.

• Collaborate with internal teams to develop engagement strategies for stakeholders including donors, grantees, and supporters.

• Build and nurture relationships with existing and potential donors, foundations, and funding organisations to cultivate support for ProVeg's programmes and initiatives.

• Represent ProVeg at meetings, conferences, and events to promote our mission and establish strategic partnerships.

• Develop and oversee strategies to engage with individuals and organisations through digital platforms, including social media, email campaigns, and virtual events.

Strategic Development:

• Continue to develop the Strategy of ProVeg Grants Programme in alignment with ProVeg International’s global strategy and the wider plant-based advocacy/food system transformation movement.

• Ensure alignment, communication and collaboration across ProVeg International’s wider network and global initiatives.

Monitoring and Reporting:

• Track and evaluate grant programme’s performance against established goals and objectives, providing regular updates to stakeholders.

• Prepare timely and accurate reports for funders, highlighting project achievements, impact, and financial accountability.

• Monitor Grants Programme budgets, expenditures, and timelines to ensure effective utilisation of funds and compliance with funder requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in grantmaking and donor relations in the nonprofit sector is a must.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as nonprofit management, international development, communications, or related field). Master's degree preferred.

• Highly organised and able to translate complex ideas into tangible and actionable tasks.

• Proven track record of successfully securing grants from diverse funding sources.

• Strong communication skills, including exceptional writing and editing abilities.

• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders.

Global’s official charity, Global’s Make Some Noise, funds crucial grassroots projects across the UK with funding and development support, with the aim to make sure that nobody is left facing life’s toughest challenges alone. We raise funds and awareness of the biggest issues affecting society, harnessing the power and reach of over 26.6 million weekly listeners across Global’s radio brands including Capital, Heart, Classic FM, Smooth, LBC, Radio X, Capital XTRA and Gold. Overview of job

We are hiring a Finance and Grants Assistant to support financial and grants operations processes. Responsibilities include participating in the operational and administrative activities of the finance function, leading to the accurate recording of financial information for accounting purposes, as well as managing financial records, and supporting our grant-making processes.

Measures of success

In the first few months, you would have:

• Successfully complete daily and weekly finance and grants tasks, successfully managing the finance and grants email inboxes and be confident answering questions and resolving queries.

• Built relationships with the Global’s Make Some Noise team and other stakeholders.

• Developed your knowledge of our supported charities and funding portfolio, getting to know plenty of our projects and working with them to produce case studies, stories and fulfilling other storytelling opportunities.

Responsibilities of the role

Finance – approx. 40%

Day-to-day financial management of the charity and its Trading subsidiary including, but not limited to:

• Process all day-to-day transactions on the finance system, Xero, including income received from fundraising platforms, ensuring a full audit trail of data processing.

• Complete daily bank reconciliations for all entities, including recording and banking cheques and processing petty cash.

• Raise sales invoices as requested, following procedures to set up in customer systems, and follow up with customers to ensure timely payment.

• Process purchase invoices and expense claims, ensuring appropriate authorisation, in line with delegated authorisations.  

• Set up weekly payment runs for approval by the Head of Finance.

• Monitor all financial processes, ensuring finance policies are complied with and deadlines are met, including electronic and physical filing of finance and legal documents.

• Complete month end tasks, enabling to the Head of Finance to close the month, including selected balance sheet reconciliations.

• Keep Gift Aid records up-to-date and assist the Head of Finance with the preparation of Gift Aid claims.

• Assist with the year-end audit, ensuring all relevant paperwork is tidily filed.

• Collaborating with the fundraising team, exploring fundraising and donation collection mechanics, identify new developments in the sector and helping to embed any system changes.

• Train and support the charity team on the charity’s finance processes.

• Provide cover for the Governance & Team Co-ordinator in periods of absence.

Grants – approx. 60%

• Support the Grants Team to process charity applications for funding, including communicating with interested parties, summarising applications, compiling relevant information, conducting research as required and helping to organise related meetings and Grants Panels.

• Preparing and processing funding agreements, reporting forms and other associated paperwork for grants.

• Working with charities to collect and develop storytelling information such as quotes, pictures and case studies, and support sourcing participants and contributors for radio interviews and other editorial pieces as needed.

• Supporting the team in the organisation, planning and delivery of our skills training programme for charities.

• Writing copy for our website and newsletters, and ownership of our communication planner for our charities.

• Managing the Grants Team inbox and being the first point of call for queries.

• Leading on the management of data and uploading of information on our database (Salesforce), complying with GDPR requirements.

• General administrative tasks across the both the Grants and wider charities team, undertaking adhoc projects and supporting initiatives and events as requested.

• Assisting the Grants Managers in all administrative aspects of support.

• Provide cover for the Governance & Team Co-ordinator in periods of absence.

What you will need

The ideal candidate will be proactive, efficient and capable of the following:

Essential Experience

• Strong A-Level results (or equivalent)  and/ or relevant degree / or relevant experience

• Would suit someone working towards finance qualification such as AAT

Role: Programme Officer

Reporting to: Programmes and Partner Manager

Contract Type: Full time, permanent (part-time candidates will be considered, minimum 4 days per week) 

Number of days: 5 days a week (will consider flexible working hours).

Location: Hybrid, minimum 2-days per week in London office (applicants must already be eligible to work in the UK). Laptop provided for home working.

Salary: £29,000 (plus benefits) FTE (dependent on relevant skills and experience).

This role will be a crucial part of Baytree’s Adult Education team, which currently consists of an Academic Manager, one other Academic Administrator (who is reducing her working hours after many years of service for Baytree), two ESOL tutors and the Women’s Service Director.  This new role will work collaboratively with the current Academic Administrator and the rest of the team to ensure the delivery of relevant and high-quality academic, adult education programmes in accordance with secured funding contracts.  The primary focus of these roles is to recruit, welcome and guide potential new students through the admissions process and undertake the administrative tasks necessary to ensure the smooth running of the Adult Education department, particularly the planning and delivery of high quality, relevant adult education courses.

Since 2003, we have been harnessing the power of skiing & snowboarding to break down barriers, broaden horizons and address the biggest social issues facing underserved young people today.

The Programme Manager will deliver a personal development journey to young people using snowsports as the hook to engage those who are less likely to engage with mainstream provision. We do this in partnership with youth projects and youth service providers across the Midlands.

This is a really exciting opportunity to play a key role in Snow Camp’s development in the Midlands. So, if you love working with young people and have solid experience delivering youth programmes, combined with a passion for snowsports – and if you are looking for a challenging and rewarding role working with a committed team of staff at Snow Camp and some amazing young people – this job could be the job for you! 

Experience of working successfully with underserved young people in a range of settings will be essential to the post. Furthermore, experience within a snowsports field and passion for supporting young people generally will be a huge advantage!

Project management, logistical skills, relationship management, communication and presentation skills will all make up the job. Along with youth work experience to deliver life-skills or group workshops to motivate young people to work towards meaningful goals – these will all make up the job.

This is a key post requiring at least 2 years’ experience involving the above skills, together with proven project management and budgeting experience.
