As IAPWA’s Individual Giving Manager, you will manage and lead on all individual giving activity for the charity. You will maximise donor acquisition, development and retention opportunities whilst growing our current income streams and donor database. The ideal candidate will have a background in individual giving and a passion for animal welfare.
Tasks will include:
- Creating and actioning an individual giving strategy to support IAPWA’s work and achieve income targets.
- Managing and developing IAPWA’s regular giving programme to significantly grow monthly income.
- Using your creative writing skills to develop strong, online fundraising appeals to generate funds for our projects, patients and campaigns.
- Working with agencies to create and develop successful offline campaigns to advance our work, such as telephone campaigns and door-to-door fundraising.
- Understanding data and analytics and being able to analyse and interpret this for future success and campaign planning.
- Segmentation of donor data into individual donors, mid-level donors, and major donors, and creating a forward-thinking strategy for the stewardship of these groups going forward.
- Acting as sole manager of the IAPWA CRM and being the point of contact for all CRM and data-related tasks from the wider team.
- Working with the wider fundraising team to achieve collaborative goals and income targets.
- Effective administration, financial reporting and budget management.

Our Policy and Public Affairs Department works at the global level to encourage the adoption of effective policies to prevent cancer and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs) through healthier diets and body weight, more physical activity and lower levels of alcohol intake. Our work ultimately aims to help people reduce their risk of cancer through meeting our WCRF International Recommendations for Cancer Prevention.
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Policy and Public Affairs to take forward this important aspect of our work and provide maternity cover for 15 months. Working with internal and external stakeholders, including government, international institutions and non-governmental organisations, you will create and capitalise on opportunities to promote and advocate the value of evidence-based NCD-prevention policy to governments and other decision-makers globally.
You will be an excellent communicator with extensive experience of working in health policy, preferably with a focus on cancer and/or other NCDs or nutrition/physical activity, and an understanding of public health and the international policy setting. An excellent grasp and knowledge of the workings of key institutions, including the UN system, such as the World Health Organization, will be a strong advantage.
Much of the focus will be at the international level but you will also work with our network countries nationally to help support national activities. You will manage a small team, working collaboratively with other departments, in particular the science department.

Job Purpose
This is a cross-organisational leadership role. You will lead a multi-disciplinary squad to design and deliver an ambitious UK change programme that delivers the squad's objective.

Main Accountabilities
The Head of UK Influencing/Squad Lead's key duties will be to:
- Lead development of the objectives and strategy for one of Save the Children UK's mission squads aimed at influencing policy, practice and/or attitudes in the UK
- Lead a multi-disciplinary squad made up of staff from across policy, advocacy, campaigning and media disciplines (at a minimum), plus other relevant functions, to achieve those objectives
- Develop and articulate a clear vision for what needs to be done to achieve the squad's objective(s), over a range of time horizons
- Take responsibility for the impact of the squad and ensure the squad's work supports the achievement of the overall mission objectives and is in alignment with Save the Children UK's supporter-engagement and “world-class impact” strategies, including through a focus on the rights of the world's most deprived and marginalised children
- Liaise extensively with stakeholders, including:
- Proactively identifying the relevant internal and external stakeholders to shape the vision, objectives and definition of success
- Defining the resources needed to achieve the objectives and working with the mission lead and departmental managers to secure these
- Own and manage prioritised deliverables that realise the squad's objectives, including:
- Making decisions on priorities based on overall mission and SCUK objectives and considering the needs of all key stakeholders

What’s your mission?
We raise funds to help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds compete successfully with their more advantaged peers and access successful careers in the digital sector.
Ada is primarily government funded but to deliver outreach, develop and innovate our educational offers and provide necessary services to ensure disadvantaged learners succeed, we currently need to raise £500k per year from Major Gifts, Corporate Partnerships and Individual Giving. We also raise funding for specific projects.
Fundraising sits within the External Relations team and is currently delivered by the External Relations Manager, the CEO and Director of External Relations. The Head of Corporate Partnerships is a new role, funded by the the Salesforce Foundation, and will be instrumental to our growth over the next 5 years.
The Head of Corporate Partnerships will be accountable for an annual budget of £200k each year, will account manage a small number of existing partnerships and focus on developing the corporate partnership offering to raise new income from our current regions in London and Manchester. The HCP will line manage a new Fundraising Executive based in Manchester.
Ada has a sector-leading portfolio of corporate partners, from a wide range of industry sectors, who are vital to the achievement of Ada’s mission and the growth of our impact. The Executive Leadership Team are eager to appoint an outstanding Head of Corporate Partnerships to manage and grow this portfolio. As the Charity enters a time of pivotal growth, the candidate will support the Director of Partnerships in developing the corporate partnerships function. Key Responsibilities:

- Effective relationship building and stewardship planning to forge new and grow existing opportunities; working towards and further developing a robust pipeline worth at least £3m.
- Supporting team growth: recruit a Corporate Partnerships Officer and work with Director of Partnerships to shape the future of Corporate Partnerships at Smart Works.
- Identifying potential Corporate Board members to assist in maximising fundraising potential.
- Overseeing wider partnership activation plans across the charity, including UK-wide initiatives with regional Smart Works centres.
To do this the right candidate will have experience in these key areas:
- Business development experience – strong track record of establishing and on-boarding five and six-figure financial and significant in-kind partnerships that deliver for all parties.
- Demonstrable experience of high-profile relationship management such as partnership management, account management, and/or client and stakeholder liaison.
- Solid understanding of income generation in a non-profit organisation.
- Line-management experience is preferred.

Main duties and key responsibilities
Fundraising within Business Area 95%
- Supporting the Head of Community Engagement in the fulfilment of the team strategy and objectives.

About the role
Legacies form a key source of income for the British Heart Foundation (BHF), raising around £80m a year for our life saving research.
As a Legacy Manager, you’ll manage, protect, and optimise this income. You'll work alongside three other Legacy Managers, supporting the Head of Legacy Management to build on the team’s successes and optimising the BHF’s income from gifts in Wills.

About the role
Our Legacy team is sector leading. You’ll have the opportunity to build the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) reputation as a good recipient of legacies and increase the BHF’s income from bequests.
As our Legacy Officer, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day administration of legacies in accordance with our policies and strategy. You'll manage your own caseload of largely residuary legacies, working up to include complex and contentious cases. You'll answer enquiries from solicitors and individuals in connection with bequests and assist in all matters relating to the department’s work.
Over half of our income comes from people leaving a gift to us in their Will. Charitable legacies are therefore vital to enable us to continue our life-saving research programme to fight cardiovascular disease.
