About Myaware

Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people living with myasthenia.  

Myasthenia means muscle weakness. The myasthenias are a group of neuromuscular conditions including myasthenia gravis, ocular myasthenia, Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome and congenital myasthenic syndrome.

· We work to raise awareness of myasthenia, as it is a little-known condition.

· We provide support services for people living with myasthenia and their families. These include welfare advice, online support groups and webinars, social media peer support groups and support and information via telephone and email.

· We raise vital awareness and campaign for better medical services for people with myasthenia and work to inform medical professionals.

· Myaware funds research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors. 

About the role

The Chief Executive Officer will provide strategic guidance and oversight, ensure operational efficiency and sustainability, and maintain the organisation's commitment to serving the myasthenia community.

Your responsibilities in the role will include:

· Advising and working with the Chair and Trustees on the strategic direction of the charity and implementing board decisions,

· Leading by example and embodying Myaware values of respect, passion, collaboration, integrity and sustainability,

· Networking across the sector and raising the profile of the charity and people living with myasthenia across the nations where Myaware operates,

· Delivering effective management and administration of the organisation,

· Leading a fantastic team of colleagues, supporting their work and development and displaying emotional intelligence and leadership.

· Providing a clear vision and promoting the mission, aims and objective of Myaware and leading delivering the budget, an ambitious fundraising strategy and organisational direction.

• Manage the working practice and support the development of team members within the Programmes team including direct line management of the x2 Senior Expedition Coordinators.
• Recruit and induct senior expedition leaders (Chief Leaders) with the support of the Programmes team.
• Act as the key contact for Chief Leaders during the planning phases of expedition programmes.
• Act as the first port of call for all queries relating to operational management.
• Support the Curriculum, Impact and Training Manager, in the management, planning and delivery of training events for both Leaders and Young Explorers.
• Support and guide Chief Leaders and wider expedition leader teams to develop robust and developmental operational plans.
• Contract efficiently and liaise effectively with third-party providers in-country to ensure logistical plans and support is in place to develop programme itineraries.
• Recruit and assess high quality and appropriately skilled volunteer leader teams for upcoming expeditions. 
• Support the Head of Programmes and Expeditions to develop expedition budgets and forecast expenditure to inform future planning.
• Manage processes and relationships with team members and external providers to ensure cost-effective practice.
• Support senior expedition leaders to deliver expeditions on budget.
• Manage the process of reconciliation following the return of our programmes.
• Review and develop organisational policies and operating procedures to ensure and maintain best practice, working with Technical Advisors as appropriate.
• Liaise with external auditors as appropriate to ensure compliance with BSI 8848, AALA and the Learning Outside the Classroom quality assurance criteria.
• Support expedition Chief Leaders and colleagues to develop risk and incident management protocols appropriate for the expedition location and client group.
• Participate in the Operations Sub-Committee and main board meetings with trustees as necessary.
• Represent the charity as an ambassador in a range of public fora.
• The Expedition Manager may be delegated responsibility for the oversight and development of specific process areas as appropriate.
• Liaise with external suppliers to arrange and review annual staff training for the Duty Operations team. 
• Be ‘on call’ during operational periods as part of a duty rota.
• Act as Senior Duty Officer to lead, manage and coordinate responses to field incidents or crises.

About the role 

This is an exciting new post in the Communications Team at Glass Door. Reporting to the Head of Communications, this role will support the delivery of a new paid & organic digital marketing strategy, working closely & collaboratively with both the Comms & Fundraising Teams, as well as co-lead on the delivery of a new website. 

Through this role, we will ensure that all our existing supporters are actively communicated with and that we are regularly engaging with a range of new supporters through a unique & tailored approach.

What you will do as part of our team 

Marketing:  

• Work with all internal stakeholders to develop digital marketing campaigns across paid, earned and owned channels delivering against KPI’s for income, campaigning and brand awareness. 

• Co-manage delivery of multiple/ congruent campaigns, appeals & events to attract & engage new supporters - often working alongside key members of other teams including fundraising, operations and advocacy teams. 

• Co-lead on the project management & delivery of a new website

• Work collaboratively with the Digital Comms Officer to ensure all content is optimised for multiple purpose/platforms and in line with our brand guidelines 

• Contribute creative ideas to generate content for campaigns, news stories, blogs and social media 

• Oversee development and delivery of quarterly e-newsletters. Assist colleagues with their email marketing to ensure on brand and in line with overall digital calendar 

• Work closely with the Individual Giving Officer to run email marketing campaigns - including audience specific segmented email journeys

• Work closely with the Community & Corporate fundraising colleagues to ensure content and digital journeys are meeting their needs through an integrated marketing approach

Monitor impact 

• Monitor the impact of paid & organic marketing campaigns to report on key KPI’s and metrics. Using tools within social media platforms and Google analytics. 

• Work closely & collaboratively with the Digital Comms Officer to ensure all conversions of paid promotion are tracked effectively & efficiently 

• Analyse marketing journeys for collaborative Fundraising deliverables – including campaigns & appeals and create monthly reports to share success of conversions 

• Lead on the moderation and tracking of website usage 

• Lead on the evaluation of social media and online reach, create monthly reports, and assist with evaluating the effectiveness of campaigns & appeals 

• Lead on the monitoring and track Google ads & analytics 

• Monitor and follow trends within digital and innovation to improve the organisation’s digital presence and activities 

Strategy 

• Support the creation & delivery of the digital audit of GD web & socials 

• Support the creation & delivery of the GD Communications Strategy – specifically the digital marketing strategy

It is important to have a strong financial accounting background, gained in practice or in other organisations of a similar scale. Experience in investment and restricted fund accounting would be helpful.

KEY Responsibilities.

Produce the charity's subsidiary accounts and support the production of the consolidated accounts. Provide technical expertise to the team on accounting standards and relevant accounting directions.

Prepare and submit group quarterly VAT returns within the statutory deadlines. Lead the relationship with the external VAT and Corporation tax advisors.

Administer the investment portfolio, grant, scholarship programmes and fund accounting processes.

Responsible for producing all reconciliations for the Charity including group intercompany balances. Lead on reviewing the age debtors and creditors reports.

Maintain and develop the financial systems. Ensure that users are trained, and processes are well documented. Maintain the chart of accounts.

Purpose

We are seeking an organisation and/or two individuals to deliver clinical supervision to Redthread youth workers and managers (in separate clinical groups) who are based in London and Birmingham in the context of trauma-informed practice so that they can undertake their roles safely and effectively.

About Redthread

Redthread is a multi award-winning charity with over 20 years experience of delivering pioneering youth work in hospitals and other health settings. We work across hospitals in London and Birmingham with 11-25 year olds who are affected by grooming, sexual and criminal exploitation, violence, emotional and physical harm, mental health issues, domestic violence and modern slavery. We also support children and young people in the online space to reduce the impacts of violence, and with those experiencing a range of health conditions, who are vulnerable and in need.

Our model is pioneering, and we train NHS staff so they are able to identify and better support children and young people affected by violence in health settings. We amplify the voices of children and young people and use our evidence and insights from working with them to adapt and innovate our work, support service improvement, and influence regional and national government.

About our team

We are a diverse organisation and it is critical that our staff have access to the right clinical supervisor to feel safe, reflect on their practice, and manage any work-related vicarious trauma.

1 Our team includes Youth Workers and Senior Youth Workers (20), Young Women’s Workers (3), Team Leaders (7), Managers and a VAWG Lead (5), and our Head Office staff. You will be responsible for providing clinical supervision to our hospital based staff and managers and may need to (on an ad hoc basis) support Head Office staff as and when required/upon request.

● Redthread acknowledges that its practitioners regularly encounter exposure to trauma/distress in their work with young people which has the potential for an increased risk of them experiencing compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma.

● The Redthread model of supervision acknowledges the emotional impact of our work on our practitioners/managers and provides time and tools to process feelings, build resilience, and practice self-care.

● Redthread supervision is trauma-informed and acts as reflective practice.

● Redthread provides fortnightly face-to-face group supervision and, upon request, 121 clinical supervision (either face to face or online) that takes place in a safe and consistent location and that enables a pause in practice.

● Clinical supervision is non-managerial support and is not case management.

Deliverables

● Create a safe space where open and transparent conversations can take place.

● Bring a supportive challenge to practitioners to enable them to think differently about their work and consider alternative perspectives.

● Be empathetic and consistent.

● Facilitate growth in practitioners and development of their practice.

● To provide 121 clinical supervision to staff (upon request).

● To provide fortnightly group clinical supervision to staff for up to 90 mins.

● Hold a bi-monthly catch up meeting with the Director to ensure lines of communication are open and dialogue is constant.

● Provide reasonable notice of any occasions when they will not be available on their regular day due to annual leave, other commitments, excluding emergencies.

● Report any concerns regarding Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Data Protection and Equal Opportunities to the Director.

● Maintain registration and accreditation with the appropriate professional regulator (British Psychological Society, British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

Part of your role will be visiting Wen's projects and events to gather content, impact stories and case studies for use in the media and on our social media channels. It will also include leading on social media day-to-day, including at Wen events, so you will need experience of running multiple social media channels efficiently.

Main purpose and scope of Role

• Building relationships with regional stakeholders to support Parent Programme activities.

Other Programmes/Services

• Encouraging uptake or (when charged) sales of our broad and growing suite of programmes and services.
• Identifying and engaging with local and regional partners for our range of programmes.
• Feeding into programme design.

Wider Stakeholder Engagement:

• Attending appropriate conferences and educational meetings across the region. 
• Developing relationships with key local authorities and individuals so they advocate our services and the benefits of our programmes
• Developing relationships with MATs so that they can advocate Parentkind and the benefits of its programmes.
• Identify any opportunities for external funding to from LA’s, Companies, or other funders with the support of our fundraising team.

• Create and implement operational annual plans and schedules to support our regional targets, ensuring that time specific milestones for their delivery are met.
• Regularly report on the health of our campaigns within your region, through identified KPIs and organisational targets.
• Ensure all knowledge and information is recorded, processed and maintained according to good administration practice.

L'Arche in the UK is a registered charity and a regulated provider of care and support. Our 11 Communities in England, Scotland and Wales offer a varied mix of adult supported living, registered care, and day services.

Our UK annual turnover is about £20m. Well over a thousand people across the UK belong to a L'Arche Community, including about 300 people with learning disabilities and more than 700 employees and volunteers.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reports to: National Leader / CEO

Direct reports: HR Advisor, Head of Learning and Development

Salary: £72,800 (plus London weighting where appropriate)

Location: Hybrid, with 2-3 days a week in our London office, or in another L'Arche location. (If your base is outside London, you can expect to spend 2-3 days a month in the London office). The role includes regular travel to L'Arche Communities UK-wide, and to national meetings.

Vision and values

• Lead L'Arche in our identity as a life-giving place to work, belong and grow, in line with our mission and values.
• Develop a coherent vision and strategy for L'Arche as a place where people can flourish.
• Integrate this people vision into organisation-wide ambitions, priorities and initiatives.
• Build clarity and confidence about how to bring together the L'Arche focus on community, mutuality, and spirituality.

Recruitment, retention, and belonging

• Build a L'Arche-wide focus on belonging, wellbeing and employee retention.
• Oversee recruitment strategy and processes across l'Arche.
• Lead on workforces strategy, pay and rewards.
• Support L'Arche Communities to welcome a new generation of volunteers and friends.
• Lead employee and volunteer engagement, and build a culture of co-creation, ownership, and voice for everyone.

Learning, development, and formation

• Oversee co-production and roll-out of a new Values, Skills and Behaviours Framework.
• Lead a new initiative on line management skills and culture.
• Oversee the national Learning and Development team in providing central programmes for assistant and leader induction and leadership development.
• Support Communities to identify and develop future leaders.
• Oversee development and implementation of an overall strategy for learning, development, and formation.

HR structures, strategy, and services

• Ensure L'Arche has the skills, policies, systems, and information for consistently good and compliant HR services and line management.
• Review and lead people functions across L'Arche, to ensure clear, coherent, and cost-effective HR services.
• Manage the HR team, Learning and Development team, and national HR and L&D budgets.
• Oversee the accuracy and relevance of admin and data systems.
• Oversee HR employee relations and whistleblowing across l'Arche.

Leadership

• Champion the mission of L'Arche and model our values.
• Contribute expertise on HR, inclusion, employment law and learning and development to wider discussions.
• Maximise the voice, power, and engagement of employees and of people with learning disabilities.

Matrix SDT is a local-based advocacy provider operating for over 25 years in Surrey and Berkshire. We are a small and supportive team, committed to ensuring that people who use local health and social care services -regardless of their physical or mental capacity - are able to direct those services to meet their specific needs.

A Relevant Persons Representative (RPR) works across a varied client group in Surrey or Berkshire, achieving positive changes for individuals over time.

This crucial role safeguards vulnerable people who lack capacity around their care and support needs, and who are deprived of their liberty in their best interests.

The Role:

• You will have a fixed caseload of clients in Surrey and/or Berkshire, visiting them on a six- week rotation. You will need to be able to visit he client in person across the county and be able to travel independently of public transport.
• Fixed, flexible hours (15 to 30 per week) to fit around other commitments.
• Working from home to complete administrative tasks - maintaining accurate records and writing reports.
•  Working with a wide range of vulnerable people often with complex needs.
• Working within the Mental Capacity Act and the Care Act, maintaining regular contact with your clients (Relevant Persons) who are deprived of their liberty.
• Representing the wishes, views and feelings of your clients, helping them understand the DoLS (Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards) Authorisation, and challenging authorisations where appropriate.
• Opportunity over time to work in other advocacy roles and gain qualifications in this profession.

The role would suit someone with a passion to support people who may have communication challenges due to their impairments, and need help to ensure their views are listened to. Full training will be given.

Previous advocacy experience or working with those who lack capacity is desirable though not essential, as is some experience or knowledge of health and social care.

Good written English and ability to communicate at all levels is essential.

The NSPCC’s mission is to end cruelty to children. This is what drives their income generation team to get out there and bring in the funds needed to protect children and prevent abuse.

This largely home-based role is based in the Regional Corporate Partnerships team, which is one of the longest established, regionally based corporate teams in the third sector, with a track record of working with some of the largest and most dynamic businesses in the country.

As Corporate Partnerships Manager – Midlands, you’ll be supported by the Senior Corporate Fundraising Manager (your line manager) and work alongside two Corporate Partnership Managers overseen by Head of Regional Corporate Partnerships. You will manage a varied and exciting portfolio of new and long-standing partners across the Midlands, including supporting on a 7-figure partnership (focused primarily on Midlands region). You will also focus on identifying, developing and winning new corporate support through Charity of the Year, commercial and strategic opportunities.

As Corporate Partnerships Manager – Midlands, you will: 

• Support the corporate fundraising team in your region conveying regional expertise and corporate partnerships knowledge to internal and external stakeholders
• Collaboratively and creatively work towards a corporate partnership team target of c.£200k
• Develop a fully researched and engaged prospect pipeline of five and six figure future corporate supporters
• Play a key role in maximising income for the NSPCC from existing commercial partnerships and relationships and ensuring the highest standard of proactive support and development

Ideal skills and experience: 

• Experience of account/partnership management or new business within the third or commercial sector
• Success in developing and securing relationships to achieve results within a fundraising, sales or marketing environment
• Ability to deliver results as set out in a team or departmental plan
• An outgoing, confident individual, who can work on their own initiative and is achievement and results orientated
• You may come from Events, Community or a similar type of relationship management role

Whilst the role is primarily home based, there is an expectation for the successful candidate to travel freely across your designated region (travel expensed), plus occasionally travel to other parts of the country for team meetings, training and to support the wider team.
