Key Duties and Responsibilities
A. Support the CFO and Deputy Director of Finance and senior leadership team to set up the Financial Centre of Excellence dedicated to supporting Black and racially Minoritised community groups.
B. Provide bespoke financial management capacity-building support to Black and racialized organisations in 8 London boroughs, including supporting groups to:
1. Conducting financial health checks and developing and implementing action plans.
2. Provide training, and guidance to groups supported on ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory and funder requirements governing the sector, employer responsibilities training, and governance.
3. Support the development and implementation of financial strategies operational/strategic management and planning resources.
4. Provide training and guidance on risk identification and mitigation and annual reports and accounts.
5. Support the delivery of webinars/masterclasses to participants
6. Support developing effective online learning tools and platforms to cascade learning.
7. Support the delivery of a proactive finance service ‘Critical Friend’ providing financial advice, support, scrutiny, and challenge to the organisations.
8. Support groups to plan resources, assess the implications of service proposals, and provide financial modelling and analysis of service options for projects and initiatives.
9. Contribute to the provision of financial support across the Ubele hubs, in forecasting both in-year and future-year income and expenditure, ensuring these are accurate, appropriate, and supported through activity and performance analysis.
10. Support the Deputy Finance Director as required on a range of financial and management accounting, budgetary, reconciliation, reporting, and payment tasks where relevant, for the designated service area.
11.Support the Ubele senior leadership team and staff in the development and updating of the project organisational and annual budget to ensure that it supports the outcomes set out in our strategic plan.

Role purpose
This role would suit someone with at least 2 years’ experience in a charity finance role, who has experience or knowledge of all the core accounts department processes and some understanding of different charity income streams. You might be studying for an accounting qualification (e.g. AAT or ACCA) or be qualified by experience.
A training package may be available for an applicable accounting qualification.
Responsibilities
- Day to day management and systems administration of Xero accounting software, expenses software (ExpenseIn), and other linked financial applications.
- Carry out monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, debtors and creditors, and set up payment runs.
- Prepare monthly management accounts journals (prepayments, accruals, depreciation, deferred and accrued income) and control account reconciliations.
- Being the systems administrator for the Fundraising CRM system (Donorfy) and linked platforms and applications (e.g. JustGiving, Stripe, EventBright).
- Database management of Donorfy and linked platforms and applications.
- Reconcile data between Donorfy and Xero, and where necessary, with other linked platforms and applications.
- Ensure Gift Aid returns are correctly submitted to HMRC (via Donorfy)
- Support with the development and implementation of new systems and procedures.
- Provide training and induction to new joiners in using Donorfy and ExpenseIn as well as for any other relevant platforms and applications.
- Business partnering - provide day to day support to the wider organisation with finance and fundraising system queries, payment information, and supplier queries.
- Working with budget holders to provide transaction reports, income and expenditure reports, and updates on payments from finance and fundraising systems to assist them to manage their project budgets.
- Assist Finance Director and Fundraising team where necessary with financial reporting to funders.
Skills/ experience
Essential
- Proven experience in all areas of accounts - purchase and sales ledger, banking and cash management, basic management accounts.
- Experience of Xero or similar cloud-based finance system.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly excel and an ability to quickly learn new systems.
Desirable
- Accountancy qualification or studying for (e.g. AAT, ACCA).
- Experience of Donorfy or similar CRM system.
- Experience of dealing with charitable income and an understanding of how to account for restricted grants.
- Experience of liaising with auditors and other external stakeholders.

Reporting to the Financial Accountant, the Assistant Financial Accountant will be involved with all financial accounting and treasury activities for the organisation which includes Look Ahead Care & Support and its subsidiaries. Post all fixed asset journals, reconciling relevant balance sheet accounts monthly.
Prepare and post monthly journals and complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations for other general ledger accounts as required.
Ensure that Look Ahead's bank accounts are reconciled on a daily basis. Prepare and post daily journals for cash receipts, direct debits, and manual payments.
Assist with the preparation of payroll journals and the reconciliation of relevant payroll accounts e.g. payroll control, PAYE, pension, attachment of earnings etc.
Assist with the monthly payroll processing, including processing of overtime and payroll sample checking.
Assist with the administration of Look Ahead's pension scheme, including processing new joiners and leavers.
Assist the Financial Accountant with the development and day to day management of the SUN financial system across the whole finance team in order to achieve efficiencies and continuous improvement.

You will work alongside the new Head of Corporate Partnerships to lead a team of four, including three corporate managers and one corporate assistant.
You will manage FareShare’s leading 6-figure accounts with the top 90 food companies in the UK as well as have the opportunity to diversify their portfolio and feed into their strategy to grow income from their corporate partners.
As Senior Corporate Fundraising Manager (Account Management), you will:
- Successfully lead the Corporate Partnerships account team to develop and deliver on ambitious growth strategy across existing partnerships working towards a team target of £9m
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Corporate Manager – New Business to deliver a seamless strategy, focusing on the transition of partners through business planning and maximising lifetime value
- Maintain oversight of the corporate partnership’s portfolio pipeline and work with the Senior Corporate Manager – New Business to ensure a cohesive and collaborative transition of new partners into account management
- Lead the development of new corporate engagement and income generating opportunities to enhance partnerships, deepen relationships and provide value to the organisation
Ideal skills and experience:
- Demonstrable experience of delivering 6-figure partnerships at scale in either a charity or commercial environment
- Experience of providing excellent relationship management and stewardship resulting in increased levels of financial support from partners
- Ability to line manage a team of four and experience in successfully leading a team
- Experience of managing multi-faceted strategic partnerships that deliver both financial and non-financial impact to an organisation

The Social Interest Group (SIG) is partnering exclusively with Robertson Bell to recruit a Purchase Ledger Officer on a permanent, full-time basis. SIG is a leading UK charity providing bespoke person-centred health and social care services. Reporting into the Senior Finance Officer, this role is jointly responsible for the delivery of a consistent and high-quality purchase ledger function across the Group. The purchase ledger team is integral to ensuring that the Group commitments are accurate and complete each month; and payments are made on a consistent basis in keeping with suppliers’ credit terms and internal policy on expenses.
The key responsibilities of this Purchase Ledger Officer include:
- Record staff expenses and property invoices (e.g., rent, utilities, repairs) promptly across all companies.
- Upload invoices promptly after processing for timely authorisation.
- Ensure invoices comply with delegated authority limits and are correctly coded to budgeted cost centres.
- Verify payment-due invoices against the aged creditors report.
- Track and record direct debit invoices, investigate debit balances, and resolve before month-end.
- Review supplier statements to capture missing invoices and prepare reconciliations for key maintenance and rent accounts.
- Respond to supplier and staff queries per SLA KPIs and forward new supplier forms and bank detail changes as needed.
- Prompt authorisers weekly for timely invoice approval and maintain evidence of key supplier reconciliations.
- Ensure efficient processing of direct debits with proper documentation.
- Follow standardised protocols for setting up suppliers and employees on the accounting system.

WCC has gone through a period of transformation and operational improvements over the past 2 years which has increased the charity’s financial and organisational resilience. We are now looking for a Finance Manager who will join a well-developed team and be responsible for embedding the progress made and identifying further areas for improvement.
About the role of Finance Manager
The Finance Manager is a core member of WCC's management team and is a key advisor and partner to the CEO on all areas of finance. The post-holder will have responsibility for timely and efficient management of the day-to-day accounting function and all internal and external financial reporting. Reporting directly to the CEO this role is part of a friendly, highly productive and collaborative, dedicated clinical and operational staff team of ten.
It is a varied and senior position that is part time, 3 days per week, and we are happy to discuss how the hours are worked over the week. It’s hybrid, working a minimum of one day per week in our Waterloo office. The salary is £45,000 to £48,000 pro rata, depending on experience.
The successful candidate will:
- Be a Fully Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, ICAEW etc).
- Have 5+ years PQE, preferably with charity sector/ fund accounting experience.
- Able to demonstrate working independently and as finance lead.
