The Head of Corporate Partnerships will join at an incredibly exciting time for the charity and corporate partnerships programme. Sitting on the Fundraising SLT and leading the team of four, the Head of Corporate will bring a new business lens to the portfolio, driving new brand and commercial, strategic and charity of the year partnerships. The role will also oversee a Department of Health funded programme to bring pregnancy information to SMEs.

Personally leading on and supporting the Senior Partnerships Manager in developing new business will be a key element of the role, including building propositions around key campaign moments. Additionally, the Head of Corporate Partnerships will work closely with the Deputy Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships to develop a longer-term strategy to be in a position to win the large-scale transformational partnerships. Overseeing the existing portfolio, managed by a Partnerships Manager, will also be crucial; there are a number of upcoming renewals and opportunities for growth.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the team to deliver £870k income this year, ensuring plans are in place to grow to £1m+ in years to come

Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, unlike NHS emergency services, is a charity. This free life-saving service is provided 24/7 by helicopters and rapid response vehicles.

Each critical care team consists of a pilot and co-pilot, a pre-hospital care doctor and a critical care paramedic.

They can be rushed to the scene with life-saving support equipment to deliver advanced clinical care, usually only in the hospital emergency department.

Once stabilised, the patient will be conveyed to the most appropriate hospital by air or land.

About the post of CEO

You will report directly to the Board of Trustees, ensuring excellent governance of the Charity, regulatory compliance with the Charity Commission and Companies House, and will collaborate with Trustees on designing and executing the 2024-2027 strategy. You will lead and support a team of seven staff, supporting 500+ older and disabled Neighbours annually with a large team of volunteers. JOB DESCRIPTION

Strategy and Operations

1. Develop, implement, and lead execution of the charity's annual operational plan and 3-year strategic plan.

2. Identify appropriate level of staffing, volunteering, ensuring that all staff and volunteers are appropriately interviewed, vetted, inducted, trained, developed, and supported to deliver against their objectives.

3. Ensure appropriate upkeep, security, and management of the charity’s premises, including all relevant contracts and payments.

4. Ensure that the charity’s IT systems are fit for purpose and compliant with relevant law.

People

5. Line management of seven staff members, and responsibility for staff and team development, cohesion and appraisals.

6. Recruit and support social club facilitators and appropriate consultants to provide additional resource to the charity as required.

7. Lead staff member for safeguarding, liaising directly with Hammersmith and Fulham Adult Social Care.

8. Ensure appropriate mechanisms and safeguards are in place to support up to 100 regular volunteers, and up to 100 additional corporate/student volunteers.

9. Ensure appropriate mechanisms and safeguards are in place to support up to 500 beneficiaries and additional attendees at FGN events.

Finance and Fundraising

10. Develop, implement, and lead charity’s financial and fundraising planning and management, ensuring that the charity operates at least at break-even, ideally with a small surplus.

11. Ensure that the charity has a diverse range of income across various streams, inclusive of (but not limited to) public sector, trusts and foundations, corporate income, events, and online giving.

12. Ensure that the charity is receiving value for money with all expenditure, ensuring contract review on a timely basis as appropriate.

13. Ensure appropriate cashflow projections so that expenditure does not exceed income in any one year unless pre-agreed with trustees.

14. Ensure that appropriate financial controls are in place so to protect charity and anyone handling money on behalf of the charity.

15. In conjunction with the finance administrator and hon. treasurer monitor all income, expenditure, accounts, funding investments and budgets.

Governance

16 Ensure compliance with charity and company law, inclusive of writing, presentation and filing of annual report and accounts and other Company Secretary duties.

17 Organise, attend, record and report at board meetings every two months, inclusive of finance and operations reporting and the regular cycle of governance reviews.

18 Plan, organise and attend AGM and annual strategy session.

19 Ensure appropriate level of risk management and insurance are in place for the charity.

20 Ensure all relevant policies, procedures and financial controls are in place, inclusive of annual review.

Communications and Impact

21. Represent and promote the charity in public, sourcing media opportunities as appropriate so to increase visibility.

22. Represent the charity on appropriate networks and forums so to develop stakeholder relationships and source opportunities for cross-partner collaboration.

23. Ensure positive, fit-for-purpose, internal and external communications, inclusive of monthly newsletters, social media presence and other marketing materials.

24. Ensure appropriate monitoring and evaluation of projects and develop relationships with academic institutions and/or research consultancies where possible so to elicit external perspectives and scrutiny of the charity’s work.

25. Build relationships with local stakeholders and businesses.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential requirements

1. Senior management experience within the charity sector or similar

2. Experience of working at a senior level with and under the direction of a board of trustees

Role Summary

• Work with the P&RM on external research projects funded by the charity, including support with assessing the quality of bids by external researchers. 

Across both areas

Main purpose of the role

We have a dynamic Fundraising team and over the last three years we have seen an incredible growth across established income streams and creation of new exciting income streams. At the same time, the organisation is passionate and committed to increasing our activities so that more food can reach the 8,500 charities and community groups nationwide. To meet this ambition, we are looking to recruit a talented and experienced fundraiser as our Corporate Partnerships Officer who is able to jump straight in to help deliver our Corporate Fundraising strategy.

We are looking for an ambitious Corporate Partnerships Officer that wants to maximise fundraising opportunities with existing partners through excellent account management and also enjoys new business and converting leads to new partnerships. This role will be split with 60% of your time allocated to Account Management and 40% to New Business.  

To be successful in this role, you will have knowledge and experience of managing and growing fundraising partnerships, as well as experience of working with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. You will be self-motivated with strong organisational skills and an ability to set priorities, contribute to a prospect pipeline and meet deadlines.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Account Management

• Manage a diverse portfolio of corporate partnerships including strategic partnerships, commercial partnerships, charity of the year and corporate donations, and support Corporate Partnership Managers with responsibilities relating to larger partnerships.
• Deliver excellent partnership management including developing a partnership plan, meeting with stakeholders, delivery of partner benefits and account stewardship.
• Develop and deliver timely, relevant and engaging impact reporting.
• Develop new and grow existing corporate partnerships, drafting and negotiating partnership agreements, for the best outcomes across FareShare’s work and maximising the income potential.
• Maintain robust account growth plans, update pipelines and stakeholder mapping for your partners.
• Produce high quality communications, reports, propositions and pitches for partnerships - delivering excellent account management through the highest levels of supporter centred stewardship.

New Business

• Proactively approaching corporate opportunities following our new business strategy, writing funding proposals and approaching community groups for new partnerships
• Responding to volunteer enquiries from companies who want to work with FareShare and converting enquiries to new business leads when viable
• Contribute to the fundraising team new business pipeline
• Maintaining accurate cultivation plans and reporting for new business approaches
• Working with the FareShare food, volunteering and marketing teams to identify new fundraising opportunities 

Communication and Administration

• Develop PR and communication plans for corporate partners, working in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications team.
• Manage the general administration and accurate data management for your partners.
• Support annual budgeting and planning in line with the fundraising team’s strategic objectives. Report on any variances of income against budget and undertake contingency planning to minimise risk.
• Where necessary, work with the wider teams at FareShare and with our regional centre partners to deliver greater partner impact.
• Contribute to the wider success of the fundraising team through supporting colleagues, celebrating successes and sharing learnings.
• Efficient and effective management of income ensuring compliance with GDPR, charity regulation and FareShare’s own Ethical Gift Policy

About the role

The Centre for Ageing Better launched the first ever campaign focusing on ageism in January 2024.

Ageism is the most widespread form of discrimination in the UK. And it will impact us all at some point, particularly as we get older. Ageism affects how society sees older people: they’re often reduced to offensive stereotypes, patronised, or treated as a burden. And it even affects how we see ourselves. As the years progress, we start to believe what we read, see and hear, and come to think that we’re ‘past it’.

The Head of Ageism Campaign plays a key role in a small team responsible for planning and delivering a nationwide public-facing campaign to bring an end to ageism in England. The public-facing campaign is one strand of a wider ‘age-friendly’ social movement aimed to make people think, feel and act differently about ageing, which will work on a number of levels and with a range of different audiences.

Under the direction of the Director of Communications & Policy and with an expert external consultant, this role is responsible for planning, delivering, measuring and iterating campaign activities that lead to measurable changes in attitudes and behaviour amongst the public.

The campaign will position Ageing Better as a thought leader and expert on ageism in England and mobilise the public and stakeholders around key activity and campaign moments, working at a national, regional and local level.

The postholder will jointly manage a creative agency to deliver phase two of our mass marketing campaign, ‘always on’ activity, and a moment of collective action once a year for warm audiences and ambassadors for the campaign.

You will have excellent experience in campaigning techniques and communications, with first-class writing skills. You will understand how to influence the public and move people along a behaviour/attitude change journey.

As a key member of our Services and Support team, you’ll be working with MS Society volunteer groups that provide transport services to their members and/or own property. You’ll also be supporting members of the Customer Services team to help them fulfill their health and safety responsibilities within each of the MS Society’s offices. This role includes travel across the UK to provide support and/ or training as required.

You’ll be working with our external auditors to manage the audit process, monitor and record compliance with the ‘MS Society Health and Safety risk management framework’ on property and transport and ensure materials in the framework are consistently and effectively used.
