Herts Young Homeless work with young adults who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. We also work with children whose families are at risk of relationship breakdown and adults who are in housing need and have mental health and substance misuse problems.
This role will work alongside hyh Mediation and Advice and Information service, working with 10-18 year old children and their families, who are affected by mental health and substance misuse problems. The aim is to reduce family conflict and reduce the risk of homelessness by improving health and wellbeing within the family.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Working with Young People and Families
- Work alongside service users and other professionals to assess any un-met needs of families regarding mental health, substance misuse, housing and financial difficulties and provide quick, effective support to connect them with the services they may need
- Work creatively and imaginatively in order to facilitate solutions with young people and their families
- Identify review and overcome the families’ barriers to engaging effectively with statutory and non-statutory services
- Provide an approach to families that will improve their communication, helping them to build on strengths and support each other better
- Be able and willing to work with communities and neighbours to improve communication where community relationships have broken down as a result of a child or family’s behaviour
- Provide information for children, families and their communities about living with mental health or substance misuse problems
- Work in conjunction with statutory and non-statutory service providers on care planning and reviewing
- Encourage and empower service users to make best use of appropriate statutory and community resources
- Establish and develop links between services that ensure service users access the full range of care and treatment services to meet their needs
- Work effectively alongside the Mediation team to provide practical support to complement conflict resolution and emotional support

HARP is Southend-on-Sea’s leading homelessness charity. On average, we help around 1,000 local people every year to overcome or avoid homelessness. In addition to providing essential short-term emergency shelter, food, clothing and washing facilities, we work to identify the root causes of homelessness, creating tailored support for each person’s circumstances. We achieve success by providing structure, purpose and training opportunities, and by providing longer-term supported housing, empowering people to take steps to leave homelessness behind and ultimately to live independently in the community.
As a charitable registered provider of short-term social housing operating in Southend-on-Sea, we believe everyone should have a home of their own. At times individuals may require support from HARP and other agencies to maintain a tenancy and avoid a return to homelessness.
We currently manage 236 bed spaces in our emergency and short-term accommodation, employ over 100 full and part time staff, and supported by a number of volunteers.

Job Summary
To be a key member of Gaddum’s provision of the Getting Help element of Thinking Ahead (the central adult Primary Care Mental Health Pathway in Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale, in partnership with Big Life Group and Pennine Care NHS Trust).
To provide social and practical support to adults with common mental health conditions virtually and in community settings across Heywood, Middleton & Rochdale (HMR), including assessment of needs, support planning, and onward referrals (external and internal). This may include working with adults that are already in therapy, are awaiting therapy or have recently completed therapy either within Thinking Ahead, or in some cases externally.
Job Purpose
The post holder will work within a multidisciplinary pathway and carry a case load providing 1:1 support across community venues across HMR, and creating support plans for individuals accessing the Getting Help part of the pathway. This will include social prescribing, signposting and onward referrals, as well as assisting individuals overcome barriers which have prevented them from accessing services in the past. The role may also occasionally include group work – and, on occasion, evening and weekend working to suit business needs. Work provided will be within strict timescales in order to manage risk appropriately and prevent dependency on workers.
The role will include collaborative work with the partner organisations within Getting Help, our partners within Thinking Ahead, and other organisations providing support to our client groups across HMR. This role is offered in a fixed term basis until April 2023
We are looking for someone to join The Sanctuary team in Bristol as a Caseworker. The service provides a safe, welcoming and comfortable place for people over 16 in emotional distress and for those seeking to prevent the onset of a crisis at the point of need, on an ad hoc basis.
The service operates 5 evenings a week, Thursday to Monday 5pm until midnight. In this role you will work 4 evenings a week that involves both evenings and weekends.
Working as a Caseworker you will be supporting individuals individually and in groups to recognize and develop their own strategies for crisis prevention and management, and to help them to utilize their own experience to assist themselves and others through the sharing of problems, alternatives and solutions. You will be working with colleagues in other mental health services, as well as hospital emergency departments, police and ambulance staff. It is an exciting time for the service, as we are developing our support to make sure we are a key part of the system that supports those in distress, and to continue to provide a vital alternative to more clinical settings for those worried about their own safety.
About you
This is great role to develop skills in, we are looking for dedicated people who will have a commitment to our recovery ethos; and genuine interest to empower individuals to make positive changes. You should also have:
- An understanding of the support needs and requirements of people with complex mental health and other associated needs.

Pay and Other Benefits
- For this role staff can claim an additional 20% pay premium for hours worked between 8pm and 8am Monday to Friday, and all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.

Woman’s Trust is a registered charity based in Central London providing counselling and support services to women affected by domestic abuse.
We are seeking a Groupworker to deliver weekly support groups for women affected by domestic abuse and carry out initial assessments for women wanting to attend the groups. You will also further develop services in response to requests from women. All our services are client-led and based on a person-centred/humanistic model of working. Commitment to this way of working is essential for this post.
This is a permanent, part-time role for 8.5 hours per week across 2 days.

Chance UK has been delivering early-intervention services across London since 1995. Hertfordshire Mind Network (HMN) has been awarded Hertfordshire’s CAMHS Early Help Digital Intervention Service. The CYP Group Facilitator will be responsible for implementing and delivering the group support aspect of an innovative partnership between BfB Labs and HMN. Together, we will provide a countywide early help digital intervention service that is accessible to children and young people aged 5-18, at the earliest point of an emerging emotional wellbeing and/or mental health need.
Our trauma-informed model offers a range of support options for CYP, based around digital interventions and supported by one-to-one and group sessions, so children and young people can engage in the way that works best for them. The service will build resilience in CYP by working with them to develop coping strategies and solutions that will enable them to improve their own health and wellbeing. We will also provide advice and guidance to parents/families/carers and professionals to provide a holistic response to supporting CYP and creating a network around them to empower and enable positive change.
As a CYP Group Facilitator, you will provide online group interventions to deliver this new and exciting, high quality service in accordance with contractual requirements, and ensure that we are supporting the needs and aspirations of Hertfordshire families.
Service Objectives
The objectives of the CAMHS Early Help Digital Intervention Service are to:
§ Promote resilience and strategies that encourage coping and self-management for CYP, enabling a reduction in referrals to more specialist provision.
§ Increase the number of CYP who access evidence-based mental health interventions.
§ Ensure more CYP in Hertfordshire have improved awareness and knowledge about emotional wellbeing and mental health.
§ Develop an early intervention pathway for children and young people to enable individuals to get timely, responsive support aligned to their needs.
§ Reduce waiting times for CAMHS by providing a timely and effective early help service.
§ Help parents and carers to better support their CYP through access to relevant, clear and accessible information about mental health and emotional wellbeing.
§ Provide a safe and secure online environment for CYP.
§ Reduce the number of CYP experiencing a relapse in their mental health.
§ Contribute to the de-stigmatisation of mental health and emotional wellbeing.
Accountability
You will be line managed by the CYP Coordinator – Early Help Digital Intervention Service (CYP) for Hertfordshire Mind Network but will manage your own workload, prioritising tasks and working on your own initiative.
Key Responsibilities (Service & Staff)
§ To carry Hertfordshire Mind Network’s values through the CAMHS Early Help Digital Intervention Service.
§ To deliver high quality provision to support CYP, using online digital platforms to provide group interventions according to risk assessments and regularly reviewed support plans.
§ Planning and preparing for each group session/activity, establishing the session aims, format, content and anticipated outcomes for the CYP attending.
§ Ensuring diversity across group sessions/activities for CYP.
§ Monitoring the delivery of group sessions/activities and ensuring high quality standards, reviewing each session upon completion and identifying the sessions strengths and areas for improvement/development.
§ Overseeing the effectiveness of appropriate group interventions and activities for all CYP.
§ To put any necessary safeguards in place for supporting CYP and families, working in line with Hertfordshire Mind Network’s policies and procedures.
§ To work holistically to support wider family members and professionals, around the child or young person.
§ To liaise with professionals and referrers.
§ To support CYP face to face where necessary.
§ To maintain and build positive relationships with BfB, carers, CYP, and wider stakeholders including those in health, education and social care, the wider CAMHS system and Just Talk partnership.
§ To record and maintain data recording of client outcomes, with the use of monitoring tools.
§ To take responsibility for inputting and collating data in line with project outcomes and monitoring.
§ To act as a positive role model showing professional and caring attitudes and behaviour towards other team members, CYP, parents/carers and stakeholders.
§ To work in a way that acknowledges personal, social, cultural and spiritual strengths and needs of individuals.
§ To facilitate parent/family groups as the service develops, as necessary with need.
§ To work flexibly and where needed across HMN Centres and Community sites.
§ To be responsive when dealing with issues and escalating these as appropriate and necessary, in line with Hertfordshire Mind Network’s policies and procedures.
§ To represent the organisation at key operational forums including promotional events, acting as an effective ambassador for Hertfordshire Mind Network at all times.

YMCA What is Sexual Exploitation (WiSE) is a specialist services that works across Brighton and Hove, Surrey and East Sussex to support children and young people to stay safe in their relationships. A small, unique, charitable project supporting children and young people vulnerable to or experiencing child sexual exploitation. Be a part of a local, supportive team who share the common goal to provide holistic, trauma informed support. We work collaboratively around creation and sharing of resources, community knowledge, contextual safeguarding and team support.
We are recruiting a full-time (37 hours per week) WiSE Project Worker on a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2024. This is an exciting and dynamic role; providing holistic, child centred support to children and young people ranging from 10 to 25 years old who have been identified as being at significant risk of, or victims of sexual exploitation, with the possibility of some cases being victims of criminal exploitation.
You will be co-located at Reigate Police Station with their Exploitation Team, working across the boroughs of East Surrey.
You will work collaboratively with other agencies and provide consultations, support, advice and guidance to professionals around CSE. However, much of your time will be spent supporting children and young people within the community and a significant part of the role will involve lone working. You will manage a small caseload of high risk, complex cases of children and young people using session plans around topics such as; healthy relationships, consent, sexual health, porn, boundaries, self-esteem, grooming, child sexual exploitation and child criminal exploitation.
Your expected working pattern is 9.00 - 5.00 from Monday to Friday. This role is hybrid and involves a combination of work from home and office-based work.
Who You Are
You are passionate about supporting young people at risk, with ability to successfully manage challenging situations whilst remaining calm and solution focused. You will have knowledge of the risks posed to vulnerable young people through criminal and sexual exploitation, along experience in managing consistent standards in safeguarding, child protection and or protection of vulnerable adults, and knowledge of issues affecting vulnerable children and young people.
You will ideally have a qualification in Youth Work / Social Work or equivalent qualification; or equivalent comparable experience working directly with vulnerable young people. You will have experience of working with vulnerable children and young people who have experienced abuse or trauma, being able to work independently; whilst managing a caseload of young people and the ability to build supportive relationships with them.

The team provides resettlement support across central and greater Bristol areas, supporting adults who have previously been homeless and are exiting the Housing Homelessness Pathways into their own tenancies. This could be in social housing or private letting. Although you will be working as part of a resettlement team, you need to be able to solo work, thinking on your feet and reactive with customers needs.
In this role you will manage and support your own caseload of customers who have been referred to the Resettlement team through the supported housing pathway and supporting them to settle into their new home, You will advise on their responsibilities and obligations in sustaining a tenancy i.e. utilities, housing benefit, benefits, money management, employment and training, along with applying to local charities for funding to help furnish new homes. You will also work closely with partners agencies who deliver information, advice and guidance on specialist services and refer customers if required.
Many of our customers present complex needs and can have a history of homelessness, substance misuse and mental health. Due to this the role can be challenging at times and you will receive on-going training, regular case management reviews and reflective practice group sessions with your team.
You will be working out in the field on a one to one basis with our customers, while also offering assistance through phone and IT platforms.
This role is being offered as a full time permanent role, working 37 hours per week. It is field based and therefore a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
