Job Summary

An exciting opportunity to make your mark in this brand-new role at EqualiTeach. The post-holder will be responsible for securing new and developing existing funding & partnership opportunities that are in line with EqualiTeach’s vision, mission and aims; marketing EqualiTeach’s services, including the Equalities Award; and increasing EqualiTeach’s profile, influence and reputation as a leading equality and diversity organisation. 

 Background to EqualiTeach

EqualiTeach is a nationwide not-for-profit equality and diversity training and consultancy organisation, which inspires and empowers people to create equal, diverse and inclusive environments where everyone feels safe, valued and able to succeed.

Our vision is of an equal, inclusive and diverse society where everyone is valued and able to succeed.

 We provide:

  • Equality, diversity and inclusion training for governors, teachers and support staff
  • Interactive workshops with young people
  • Production and updating of policies, strategies and guidance documents
  • Production of training and educational resources
  • An online audit tool, showcasing schools’ commitment to equality 

Key Tasks:

  • To develop and deliver EqualiTeach’s fundraising, marketing and communications strategies in collaboration with the Head of Strategy and Development
  • To establish new funding opportunities and lead on writing funding bids and tender applications to bring in an income of ~£500,000 per annum
  • To ensure that EqualiTeach’s vision and brand is at the heart of all fundraising, marketing and communications
  • To oversee all communications channels including the website and social media, ensuring that content is current, relevant, on brand and audience appropriate;
  • To develop relationships with current and potential funders, partners and associates
  • To analyse the success of fundraising, marketing and communications strategies
  • To proactively look for opportunities to promote EqualiTeach’s work and activities through liaison with media
  • To attend external events to network with stakeholders, deliver presentations and run stalls
  • To supervise staff in the implementation of these strategies
  • To write reports for funders, the Advisory Board and other key stakeholders
  • To contribute to the general administration, well running and development of the organisation

Person Specification

Essential:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience of grant fundraising, securing significant funds for a charity or other not-for-profit organisation
  • A proven track record of selling services
  • Experience of using promotions and marketing tools and techniques to increase the visibility, profile and reputation of an organisation
  • Experience of building and maintaining effective relationships with funders, partner organisations and clients
  • Experience of social media management
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Pro-active and innovative, with an ability to problem-solve
  • Proficient in the use of IT systems, including Microsoft Office packages
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion

Desirable

  • Knowledge of equality
  • Knowledge of the education sector
  • Experience of line management
  • Experience of using CRM systems such as Salesforce
  • Experience of developing and delivering a successful digital marketing strategy
  • Experience of managing websites
