About Working Animals International

About this role

The Animal Welfare Adviser plays a key role in advancing animal welfare across our international programmes by providing technical expertise, supporting partner organisations, and driving capacity-building initiatives. Working closely with the Animal Health and Welfare team, project partners, and other stakeholders, the post-holder will contribute to the implementation of our animal welfare and harnessing strategies, support the development of professional and paraprofessional competencies, and help deliver training and educational resources.

The role involves monitoring project impact, strengthening partnerships, producing technical guidance and learning materials, and ensuring animal welfare best practice is embedded across programmes. Regular collaboration with internal teams and international travel are essential aspects of the position.

Contract, location and salary

This is a full-time (34.5 hours per week) permanent role. This is a UK based role, with regular attendance (1-2 days per month, or more if preferred) in our London office, and applicants must have the current right to work in the UK.

The salary for this role is c.£35k per annum, subject to skills and experience. Working Animals International offers a generous company pension scheme with a 10% employer contribution if the employee contributes a minimum 5%, and healthcare cashplan with Medicash alongside other benefits.
